Well, so I'm over 50 now, and this holds up as well for me as anything from that time or before. If I had the ability to climb into a time machine I would land in the Barrowlands that night and have the time of my life. There are certain things that make the consummate show: the setlist, the energy of the band, the energy of the crowd, and the sound. There's few concerts you can find on CZcams that can top this one for a combo of all four. I wish I could have seen this band live before we lost Stuart, because they had many, many more great songs to add to this 14 song setlist. RIP Stuart and RIP Big Country.

There will never be another band like this, we are so lucky to have found BC out of the group of bands that came out in the early 80s. This music stands the test of time and is just as fresh as the day you first heard it. So sadly underrated here in the States, but we who found BC found precious gold that we will never let go!

One of the greatest captured live performances of all time. I will never ever forget this show. In my entire 55 years on this planet, I have committed theft only a single time. I was 14 years old and this performance had just debuted on MTV (or maybe USA Night Flight), and I had no money. I'm not proud of what I did, and never will be. But DAMN IT... if a young guy was willing to do something wrong just once, stealing the debut BC album from Kmart in 1984 was worth it!!! And RIP forever Stewart!!!

Rest In Peace Stuart Adamson! April 11, 1958-December 16, 2001. It was 16 years ago today that Stuart died. I place him as my 5th favorite singer songwriter of all time right behind Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Jackson Browne, and Joan Baez! I think that the lyric All the secret wounds that bleed take me further from my need to the song everything I need are one of the best lines of any song ever written by any musical artist ever. I believe his best songs are Just a Shadow, Ships, Your Spirit to Me, Chance, Seven Waves, Winter Sky, You Want Me To Go, and Somebody Else. Of course there are so many more that others would choose. I am so sad to see the wat his life ended as so many others have also thought too! He will never be forgotten, I believe! He was agreat talent. I hope that he believed on the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior for Eternal Life!

This concert was turned into the 'Live on the King Biscuit Flour Hour' release with subsequent DVD live. Not sure they ever played to more appreciative fans . It's only about 60 KMs from Dunfermline down M876/M80 so really they were more or less home. Barrowlands is still there. When they played and the crowd jumped up and down in time to the music the wooden floor would flex like a huge wooden trampoline especially out in the middle a little away from the stage. So much fun, so alive, sadly so long ago. Feels like yesterday.

Got brought up with big country, but boy do I wish I was alive when they were first on the scene! Glad people post videos like this, they are great to watch, so jealous I couldn't experience times like these lol. Music has changed now a days and it's just pish lol!

What an event. It's hard to define that passion that wells up in one's breast when you are presented with something that defies all you've been taught, and makes you feel a part of something mighty and meaningful, that's not war but peace, wonderful strong overwhelming peace that you want to fight for, but it's not about fighting...*that* I believe was Stuart's message, that we are strong who want to be one people, one race, one humanity, and all we must do is insist that UNITY be our path.

I got to see them 40 years ago tomorrow in Indianapolis and it was a great show. Loved their 3D stage with the mountains in back, a lake, castle and trees. Really good lighting effects. The band was on fire and full of energy. I went home feeling great, in spite of snow storm.

I can't even imagine being at this show. It already sounds fucking amazing as a pretty shitty youtube upload.... Barrowlands is the absolute greatest venue. I finally got there when I saw Danzig in August, 2018. I moved back to Glasgow (from New York State) to write a master's thesis for my course in book history that I studied in Edinburgh the year before. It ended up being a perfect summer--at the end of truly fucking beautiful year. The whole place looks totally untouched inside. Some of the walls are partly covered in strips of white vinyl covering. It's probably just some ugly utilitarian thing to keep the walls being kicked in and covered in beer. It does this well (no holes from either boot or fist, the beer in little puddle on the floors...). But, what it also does (well), is keep a memory for a piece of Glasgow. Every once-white patch of wall is stained by what all the years of cigarette smoke and life of the city leave behind. Most of those cigarettes were smoked on nights like this, full of noise and beauty. That's pretty cool.

When people play the "What concerts do you wish you could go back in time to see" game, this Big Country show is definitely in my top 3 (along with Bob Marley at Harvard Stadium 1979 and the Grateful Dead at Cornell in 1977 (cliche I know, but that Dew!)).

Yeah, this stuff kicks so much ass. I've always loved it and I still do. And could you imagine if it came out now pretty sure it would kick ass, seemed pretty timeless, the sound of the guitars, ahead of its time still

Year 2020 with the covid bullshit going on, Big Country music sounds great today as it did then. Nothing on radio but rehash beats and noise. Miss this type of vibe and music a lot. Via Big Country!!

I taped this off the radio back in ‘84, off a local LA radio station that played Radio 1 concert series. I used to listen to it over and over. Nice to see the visual of it. They were a very powerful live band.
