Thanks for the kind words Marcel! This is Faas speaking, always fun to see a park mentioned that I have built on. I want to mention the digging people aren't mechanics fixing a leak, but burglars digging a tunnel preparing a heist! The summer scene is not tourists, but investigators investigating the crime!
Regards
Amazing work! I can’t imagine even starting a project of this scope
That is awesome!
Incredible work, Faas!! Beyond impressive.
I can't imagine starting a project of this scope either, that's why I wasn't involved in all the copying and trickery but helped out later on in the process. All credits go to the other two guys for the tricks.
Excellent work, to the three of you. I've been playing RCT since it came out and it's insane to see what is being done nowadays.
Before revealing the tricks, I was thinking each object has 4 images for 4 viewing angles and for all the objects used, all are customized and first image is spring, second is summer, etc.
On the ad before the video. Cant think how it is anything else.. about to be amazed I expect..
Yeah, the only thing that didn't make sense with that theory is the color of the rides themselves
This was my theory too! I am amazed and glad I was wrong though haha
That might work, with some things.
My guess was similar, some kind of illusion where each side of an object is painted different colors so that depending how you look, they line up to form different images.
Was not expecting the park to work like that. Really neat
I didn't either! I was really surprised at first but upon thinking about it more, the way they did it is actually SIGNIFICANTLY easier than any of the other potential methods.
This is truly one of the most creative maps I’ve seen in ANY game. Amazing, thank you for showcasing it!
Nothing has made me feel more inadequate at the game than this park. Utterly stunning. It warms my heart to see the incredible creations people can make in a game of this age. Video games are art and a medium.
Well said! I wonder if there are still people out there who genuinely believe that video games cannot be art. It was a dumb argument the first time it was said (although I suppose I understand how one might say that looking at an atari game), but at this point it's just blatantly untrue on like a dozen different levels!
The park's name also fits pretty well. Winkelheim translates to Angle Home from German.
The Truman Park: nothing is real, everything is scenery, even other people
Like a Westworld ;)
That's incredible! So much custom scenery must have been made for this. And the animated parts like the kite, and the volleyball, and people taking photos, how do they work??
I'm gonna say it's magic...
The people taking photos are custom scenery items (yes, not even all the peeps are real), the kite is a 1-car multidimension train going back and forth, and the volleyball is a custom train going back and forth.
@@MarcelVos And the actual walking peeps? They are cake.
I love that Marcel appreciates RCT parks like fine wine. 😅
Wow, this is simpler than I expected and that makes it much more genius! It's like when you see a movie and it has practical effects, you can do anything with CGI but it's the practical effects that are the most impressive.
Wow this is one of the most impressive builds I've seen in any game, it's like a digital model diorama
I really love these park showcase videos, would love to see more like this!
If the ground is scenery, and the paths are scenery, does that mean the staff are scenery? The guests? Are you scenery?
...am I scenery?
Always has been 👨🚀🔫👨🚀
Like in a Westworld, if you do not know, does it matter?
Some of the guests are indeed scenery.
I was intrigued, then baffled, then amazed, then humbled beyond words so I just kept exclaiming "NO!" in sheer terror at the amount of work this took... I feel an anxiety attack just imagining how I would even begin a project this complex. The most stunningly advanced use of RCT as an art medium I have seen yet. Absolute art, without sarcasm or exaggeration, this to me is on the level of a masterpiece that should be in a museum somehow...
The people who do this stuff should be considered artists, amazing.
Mindblowing isometric wizardry!
Insane. That is some thicc kite string tho :D
People have pushed the meta in this game beyond anything I would have ever thought. Very impressive park.
This is seriously impressive! The amount of attention to detail and creativity to make this is off the charts.
"Winkelheim" is also a clever name. "Winkel" is German for angle, while "Heim" is a suffix for a town. So this map thats changing by rotating is named Angle Town, or Anglevile.
I was feeling pretty good about myself for beating Forest Frontiers the other day on mobile.
Macaroni Art is still ART!!!
But seriously, well done, lads. This is absolutely amazing!
This is probably the most impressive thing I’ve seen anyone create in the history of this game.
"I want Sim City!"
"We have Sim City at home."
Sim City at home:
Kid (a genius btw): Well, let's get to work.
Like all great magic tricks, the solution is a mixture of the incredibly banal and an improbable amount of effort. This was staggering to behold.
This is mind-blowing. Wow
I noticed that the ground was a little wonky but I didn't expect it to be for this reason
Just.............................. WHAT!!!
I, am Speechless at the amount of work and TIME that went into this, must have taken months of work if not longer.
So many little details, i love the guards on a smoking break.
Wow! This park is amazingly detailed, especially with all the custom scenery items and the changing seasons!
These park showcases are inspiring as someone still in the stage of recreating coasters they've rode on.
One day I’ll finally build a decent Matterhorn.
Also hey Syrup friend, dancing seeing you here
@@chompythebeast I'm proud of myself for how close I was able to get my recreations of Canada's Wonderland's Dragon Fyre and Backlot Stunt Coaster (was Italian Job, after the movie, when Paramount owned the park).
Hey! Great minds think alike, I guess lol
saw you showcase this on stream! would love to see a tour of those "pure RCT" mega parks you showed as well.
Thanks for the highlight video Marcel!
I am blown away. Would love to see more of these showcase videos.
Ok my mind is blown at the creativity and genius way the trick is done.
I subscribed today. Thank you, I love this game as a kid and still play today when I can ❤️🔥
This would be cool to check out for sure, Thanks for the upload Marcel Vos.
This is insanely creative AND well executed. Not only is this builder brilliant, they are also very skilled. What a great project!
I can't believe I only just found out about these custom scenery parks. I always loved pixel art and loved RCT. Now 20 years after player RCT for the first time, I find out that these amazing "where-is-Waldo-like" digital pieces of art exist. I know what I will be doing the upcoming days. Thanks Marcel
This is the type of park that really hurts my self esteem out of how gold it is
Wow. The level of detail is exquisite
This is unreal!!! Wow! Thank you for showcasing this incredible park!!
This is absolutely spectacular. More of these videos PLEASE!!!
Wow! This is insanely awesome!! Major props to the creators. 😍🌱🌼🍂☃️
Love the idea of more showcase videos from you. Gangland is another one of my recent favorites on NE
Thank you for sharing Marcel, As said below in Faas's comment, this game is beyond a simple park-building game with Open RCT, people are building digital art with it.
That's no longer just a park in a game.
It's a piece of art now.
Extra inception is that the game's own rendering engine also sort of does that too in screen space to get the original layering working, well not the four seasons part :O
damn i can't even wrap my head around this one, that's well done
Some people are so creative! Thank you for sharing this ❤
I loved this park, keep those showcases of parks coming please! :)
WOW!! I love that park? :DDD awesome details put into it! 😄👍
thanks for sharing it looks beautiful
That is a masterpiece of creativity.
I understand that "Building a Ride" method for copying (I used a Tiny Corkscrew for a Park Fence it was tedious)
Absolutely insane
This nuked my mind. I couldn't even guess how this was done.
Amazing. What if, having built four of the same parks on different angles, the rotation didn't rotate the park but only changed the season
Oh man, you'd have to rotate the scenery too..
I'd like to request a Ride Overview for the Looping Coaster. I confess that I really like a bunch of the premade coasters 'cause they're really compact/cheap/popular, like the Stingray, Bumble Bee, and Hedgehog. I like putting the Stingray and Cobra (Corkscrew) together because they're really cheap and profitable, and it's also a car joke.
Also I've really enjoyed watching your videos as I've been playing RCT Classic, it's made the game a lot more interesting and fun!
Me: Yay, my coaster makes a complete loop without getting stuck! Let me just add a couple of benches to the exit path, plop down a few trees, and done!
RTC community: This park...
That park would make for a great twighlight zone episode
wow... I'm speechless, this is pure genius
I wonder what the Motion Simulators outside the park are for.
They're music boxes to provide the right music for each season.
@@MarcelVos - That’s brilliant. The park really does have everything covered.
these people are playing Planet coaster on RCT, bloody marvelous it is!
I can't believe you didn't point out the tractor working the field in the Spring!
Just trying to think on how to start building a park like that makes my head hurt.
This park really is on.... a whole other level...
That’s beautiful 👍👍
Edit: truly remarkable!
... I saw the explanation and I still dont get it entirely. But Im really happy that these games did capture the imagination of some truly talented and crazy people and that we get to see the result, even if it took 20 years.
The park might have been possible in 2002 but the showcase wouldnt have been, at least not outside of some very dedicated forums.
Thanks Marcel, I would have never even heard of this park had it not been featured here.
A genuine work of art!
Parks this detailed put me off playing Rollercoaster Tycoon games as I know I can never make something a fraction as detailed.
Those fleshy bits are parts of my brain, which has exploded after the reveal 🤯
Absolutely fantastic!!!
wtf thats insane
Things like this really renew my faith in humanity.
This video blew my mind on more than one occasion lol
I don’t even have words…. This is stunning
Massive respect for building 4 parcs🤯🤯❤
Everything you see in your life.... is scenery. Your job... is scenery, your boss... scenery, your education... that is scenery, even the food you eat is scenery. Reality is scenery.
What an amazing diaorama of a park! Truly amazing.
How long did it take you to remove the back walls without accidentally removing the wrong thing?
There is a plugin that can delete every instance of a certain scenery item on the map, which turned that massive job into just a few clicks.
That is WILD. I've never seen anything like it in the game before.
That’s gotta be the best park I’ve ever seen
huh thats not how i expected it to work at all! i thought it would be a case of custom scenery that's drawn differently on all four rotations
That is absolutely insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The name of the park makes a lot more sense at the end of the video
It's like a virtual diorama
The trick made it seem insanely more complicated than I originally expected
I'd go to that park
This is soo brilliant!!!
Absolutely amazing
My first thought was custom sprites that change on flip, but I was wrong. So very wrong. What an insane masterpiece.
Wow just wow. Had no idea something so amazing could be made in rct2
It is safe to say I'm not attempting something like this anytime soon. Absolutely out of this world bro🤩
This has left me speechless.
That is worthy of a knighthood.
Sweet Jesus! Amazing!!
I've never seen something like this, its epic!
That's pretty incredible
This needs to be part of the disney imagineering interview process.
