    little tip: stick the woodruff key to one of the magnets in the flywheel

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety +2

    @THEDUKELOVER Just as easy as the video illustrated. The biggest thing to remember is that you have the woodruff key in the slot properly and have the flywheel slide over the key when you put it back on and torque it down to spec. If you have it too lose, the key will sheer off and you will have to get a new one. It's a $4 part, but it just saves you the time and hassle to do it right the first time.

    question with that protractor do I have to move 4mm to the left?

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @yfsblasterman Yes, you drill holes in the top of the lid and then they sell small foam vents that you pop in the drilled holes.

    If you shear the woodruff key, will it throw off your timing? If so, what's the best way to find TDC, or will it only line up one way?

    My blaster is like blowing fire our the exhust when i hit the kick starter and smoke is coming out
    But its not turning on we kicked started it
    It turned on but its started back fire
    And it felt like its dieing when it starts going slower

    Is it easy to do this if you have never done this before because i don't wanna screw my engine up

    An easier way to remove the flywheel is pull the spark plug out and shove a rope down in the cylinder. It will hold the engine still which u can remove it but if it is extremely tight that u have to add a breaker bar to it I would get the flywheel tool so u don't do damage to the crankshaft or piston.

  • @jeanncarlosburellibrandell8002

    This procedure is to get speed or torque?

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @kidmke92 I know..........you run it on a one stock engine too. Whether it be rebuilt or stock, it's the same compression and they both need 92,93, 94, etc. premium octane fuel.

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety +1

    @kidmke92 You should only be running premium gas in a Blaster anyways. Running anything below premium raises engine temps and risk of predetonation.

    My stater is working I have spark but my idle is off and I literally checked everything else

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @yfsblasterman Oh another thing is changing the gearing for your riding style. A 14 tooth front sprocket will give you about 4mph extra on top speed, but will slow acceleration slightly, but if you are piped and filtered already, you won't notice it much.

    my blaster has a strong spark from a 12 volt ignitor, getting fuel, cleaned carb and changed gaskets in intake. the only time my bike runs is when I jump start it. any suggestions ?

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @kidmke92 Doesn't matter if it's cast or forged..........it will wear a hole through the piston all the same if you are using too low of octane fuel.

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @yfsblasterman Not really significantly. The engine is what develops the power to make you "go". Other indirect ways are just as "hard" as working with the engine. The Blaster engine is the most simple engine I have worked with. Other things you can do though are using lightweight materials(power:weight ratio), shaving front fenders(reduces drag), using high quality bearings for wheels and keeping them greased(less rolling resistance).

    How do You do, Sir..??

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 13 lety

    @yfsblasterman You could buy filter vents for the top of the airbox lid. Raises the risk of water getting in, but not by much if you oil them.

    Why 4 degrees instead of 3 does anyone know

  • @sethat8e
    @sethat8e Před 10 lety

    Can you go further than 4 degrees if you're running a high octane oxygenated race fuel like 101 octane (R+M/2)?

    • @frambesbuckeye
      @frambesbuckeye  Před 10 lety +3

      Yes, you can, but the amount more will vary depending on your setup. There is no concise answer to what it may be. I ran +5 on 98 non-oxygenated with a milled head and porting. Just remember, there is a point of no return though. It doesn't just go infinitely. Personally, I would never go past +6 but that's just me.

    • @tony4metallicaify
      @tony4metallicaify Před 6 lety

      Maybe you should not be running race fuel if you dont know what degree timming you should run.

  • @mercmarc
    @mercmarc Před 9 lety

    I know this is for a blaster, but if anyone's doing this to a engine with the stator on the opposite side where the flywheel is moving in the opposite direction (clockwise) moving the stator counter clockwise would advance the timing.

    Hey thats amazing the Ignition setup looks identical to the RXG Magneto and coil setup we get in Asia.
    I have developed two Digital ECU's for this application one with 3 maps. ANd the other you can hook up to your laptop and program your own Ignition Map. You can check out our facebook page rddreams or you can visit the customer feedback section on www.rddreams.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5&sid=b9ced4c26ee1a275d303ab573c4888a8
    You just need to confirm that the little pulsar coil is 70 ohms + without the magnet on it.

    Put some Paracord down the spark plug hole so when the motor turn it hits the cord and gets held

  • @frambesbuckeye
    @frambesbuckeye  Před 11 lety

    Depending on pipe, better mid range power/torque with a slight decrease in max RPMs, which may decrease top end power to a minute extent, dependent on your setup. It's almost always a beneficial gain in total power and speed though. Check the links in the video description for more information.

    Dude you did way too much making that contraption with that wood All you had to do was put an adjustable wrench on the flywheel puller and rest it on your peg while you tighten down the tension bolt on the puller. I've been pulling these things forever and have never had to use one of those flywheel holder tools.
