Absolutely nailed it with the seating!!! Love it when there is an actual conversation area instead of the inline seating that takes up a giant super slide side of a rig.
Someone else said this and I agree 100%. This would be 5 stars with more counter space and the way to do it is: 1. Move the fridge to where the pantry is beside the theatre seats 2. Extend the counter across to the wall and add another power tower in the corner 3. Have an upper and lower pantry above and below the new counter space. It will be less pantry space overall but the extra counter space would be fantastic. 4. Make sure the fridge is pushed out to the edge of the slide so you don't bonk your head on the top of the slide looking in the fridge and keep that rear external storage door behind it 5. Ditch the DVD player in the bedroom and just give us a good 12V (42") smart TV 6. Let's all ditch USB-A outlets and move to USB-C outlets in the power towers and around the trailer
A flip up bedroom side stand would be a plus. When there is a rainy day I would like a 40” TV. Just make the side cabinets smaller and add a swivel for 40”TV. 1800 watt inverter? Go for a 3000 watt inverter appropriate wiring for a future solar power. We love Rockwood quality. ❤
Yes to flip up side-stand. If it could be open to outside storage it could be a dirty clothes hamper. Also, now that I’ve seen in one of your other videos that ridiculously high TVs can be on a drop down mount, all manufacturers should adopt this.
Hi Josh, my wife and I purchased a 25SRK today. Your videos helped us make our decision. The team at Bishes rv in Salt Lake took good care of us. Also, what send a shout out to Bishes in Twin Falls, Idaho. Both locatins helped us find the right color and features we wanted. I can't wait to pick it up.
That is awesome! Congrats! Mind dropping me a quick review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review for the helping video? Either way I hope you hang around and continue to share your comments as an owner!
I think the hitch weight is going to be a problem for some half tons. All the extra weight added to the bed of the truck and the camper storage compartment, bedroom is going to make the hitch weight well over 1000 pounds.
My half ton is rated for 1900lb payload. Once you throw load distribution into the mix, it will be fine. Remember, couples camper... 2 people in the truck. And 95% of your shit will be in the trailer anyway.
Never trust the manufacturer weights. They are always way less than the actual weight. My last rv the sticker said it was 7780. Empty weight was actual just over 10000.
Short queen, lack of counter space, and I’d like to add it’s heavy. If you compare it to the Grand Design 23LDE, it’s about 700 lbs heavier. Which with my 5.3L 1500 Silverado, it’s close to maxing out my towing capacity.
A flip shelf up on the left of the bed would be nice. I'd add an open cabinet with a couple shelves that have a lip on that left side as well. It would be great for a couple of pillows or blankets. It does have good storage and window coverage. Nice standard options. You might not see the structure and suspension, but will appreciate it. Great video.
Another MiniLite filled with an abundance of quality standard features👍but as so many other manufacturers do not do, I just wish that they offered a true queen bed and a comfortable sofa option for the 1950’s diner booth dinette to give it an awesome residential feel😢
Love Rockwoods so much. I agree the flip up dresser on the closet side would be a nice upgrade. Ditch the ladder and speaks and give us an additional solar panel or lithium battery from the factory. I love that it has a solar port built-in.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, #Rockwood! Move the fridge to the slide, and the pantry to where the fridge is, top & bottom, leaving the counter area open. Boom! More counter space.
I like the idea but they sacrificed too much counter space. I think i'd like this plan better if the fridge was where the pantry is and the storage be under and over an extended counter, but I also know that would require it be a few inches longer and it wouldn't stick to the 26' model limit. Do like the Rockstaff lines so thank you for the walkthrough.
Looks very good... But, you knew there was a but, coming, didn't you? It's time for the RV industry to just plain stop having a few dedicated outlets connected to an Inverter. All outlets should be wired to the inverter. Now I know someone will say, but, Tom, there is not enough juice from the inverter to run all the outlets. Someone will likely plug to many things in and blow the inverter. Yes, that could happen, but that is what circuit breakers are for. We already are use to the idea that you can't plug everything in to an outlet and turn them all on at once. Thats the way our homes already work now, a large power input usually 200 amps distributed to many outlets. If you added up each outlets power handling capabilities in your house, you would easily exceed that 200 amp input. It's time the RV industry stop thinking solar and inverters are a specialty item, they no longer are and they should be treated as just a normal part of the RV's wiring. When plugged into shore power all the AC circuits are energized, When running on battery all the ac circuits are energized, and it's up to us to not over load the system. And if we do, one or more circuit breakers open. It really is that simple. OK, stepping down off my soapbox, and in closing I'd like to thank you for all the great reviews, and how about a more in depth look at the various trailer suspension systems?
More brands are getting on the full inverter train but it’s a slippery slope. Everything we add while nice starts hitting the price tag Lot of folks like me don’t need heavy inversion or solar. Majority of users still park camp with hookups
Just to clarify, I'm not suggesting RV's should be equipped with big bad inverters. I'm only saying any inverter if installed should be wired to the RV's distribution panel and not to individual ac sockets I believe this is not addition cost, but cost reduction by standardizing all wiring being the same regardless of any solar options an individual my choose ( including none). It also reduces service cost by creating a standard wiring and component layout in an entire RV family. @@JoshtheRVNerd
I like this new model and love that Rockwood Minilites have standard features that are optional in many other manufacturers models. The passthrough storage is cavernous. If the towing vehicle can deal with the big tongue weight, you can go glamping with all your comfort stuff stored there. I hope like Lance, a heavy duty pull-out tray could be standard. If not, some kind of tie-down feature. The new feature I love the most is the knock-off of the Dometic double hinged fridge, I saw it many years ago on Leisure Travel Vans. I been waiting for it. I was just looking at this part of the video and an idea I had if you get the dinette out you could put an outside tv under that window. Maybe a small 12 volt fridge
Josh, this is a very quiet, sneaky, peakey, Shazam LOOK AT ME!!!!!! (squirrel) this is a lot of a little rv. Single for sure, a "loving couple", for sure! Anything after that it would be too small! Suspension & tire monitoring, with a great shower! Yes, winner! Thanks for showing us brother!👍

Correct, in the front pass through right where the drawer would have been. well, that's where it is on my friends 2022 2511s with the same bedroom layout. Maybe they moved them.@@JoshtheRVNerd
Overall, a pretty good design and reminds me of a shorter GD 23LDE. I'd rather there was a sliding door on both sides of the bathroom but it looks like there wasn't enough room due to the slide. The short queen is not a deal breaker for me and the bedroom storage looks great. So glad they decided on dual entry, I love having that. I still can't stand those stable steps though.
I know this isn't the most popular opinion, but I like a couch that makes into a bed instead of the theatre seats. I read that this model could be ordered with a hideaway bed. Josh, what is your opinion of the hideaway bed in this model and do you know the size of the bed? Thanks for a response!!
Where was this unit when we were looking to upgrade.....I love the 600 watt option for solar. And big enough storage area to put some lithium batteries.....tks for this walk through
Seriously considering this model as a solo camper with a 2100 payload capacity F150. I want to do a lot of boondocking in the national forests and parks across the US. This seems very manageable.
I was going to order a 2507S in 2024. Unfortunately I can’t find a reasonable replacement. 2517S fails due to the slide mount fridge (I insist on 2-way which is ineffective in a slide).
Definitely a nice liveable unit. I know dual Azdel siding, but what are the R values on this Minnie? Can you sub a full size mattress? Just a bit more room around the bed.
No mattress swaptions from the factory. Rv Industry r values are unreliable. Too many brands publish completely unproven figures Rvs typically have no more than r7-9 walls and 12-14 ceilings but you see numbers like 40 which is nonsense
Josh, you gotta check out the 25SRK. It’s possibly the trailer that might dethrone the 22MLS, it’s that good. Dinette and sofa, huge bathroom because it’s a pass-through, roomy kitchen, and it’s a foot less length. And in typical “Rockstaff” fashion, there are premium choices all over. Gotta say, it’s a sweet one from pictures I’ve seen, haven’t caught it in person yet.
We are seriously considering this as our new camper! Love this layout and the light color feels so nice!!!! Do you think an SUV with 8500 tow could safely do this one with a sway bar?
This sounds like it would fit nicely within those limits. Though you mentioned "one sway bar" - that sounds like an older hitch system. You may have a better experience updating to something a little newer
Hey!! Crazy Uncle Gary just had an idea! I haven't seen one in person, so I can't speak for the clearances, but what about some sort of thin folding shelf attached to the back of the dinette seat on the door side? Pretty sure it would only allow partial opening of the fridge while it's up, but what I'm wondering is, will the fridge door clear while it's folded down? 2nd quick question. How bad of a two-step would one have to do if they subbed in a queen size mattress? Is it at least do-able?
Not bad as it stands. I'd rather they use that whole space where the pantry is (instead of the outside storage behind), with deep shelves all the way back, but with space between them and the door to give room for a broom\mop\swiffer\stickvac, etc. Camp queen bed--very few people keep the back breaker mattress, so as long as you can scoot by the foot it's going to be replaced with a regular queen anyway. A flip-up top hidden storage space next to the bed would be a dandy space to hide mister Glock.
Perfect floor plan! Like the rectangular shower. Two questions: can you swap out the booth dinette for a table and chairs? And why does the bed have to be so high? Even don't worry about the 'two stage access' as you call it..
I like this trailer, it hits all my needs except for one, I prefer bathroom doors that are fully framed, not your stall door like this one has. Guess I am just weird that way.
Thanks for sharing, nice camper although Rockwood’s choice of using this type of dining table is a head scratcher, we had one in our Jayco and we disliked it to say the least very cumbersome to use!
I do like that. What is the weight? I am single and retired and this would fit me pretty well from the video. I’d have to see one in person but I do like it. There should be an option to change the dinette to like a heater fire place but leave the tv where it is but just a fireplace heater and some extra storage where the dinette is. A little more counter space would be nice.
Great information about the roofs. Will you and the Bish’s team from your Davenport, IA store be at the Quad City RV & Camping Show at the QCCA Expo Center next year Feb. 23-25?
I don’t currently have a show schedule and not sure where I’ll be. But it’s been a while since I got to hang out with my Iowa team, so hopefully that works out.
Like the floor plan. Don't like the bathroom door gaps at top & bottom. Looking for a 1/2T towable couples trailer capable of getting off the pavement. Not sure if this fits or not. I live in Wyoming - mountains and wind. Would the Ember 201FBQ be a better fit?
We value your honest opinions on RVs and watch all your videos, would you recommend an under 30’ Rockwood or Flagstaff for full time rving or something else .
They’re all built generally the same structurally and it’s really been my experience, the less something ways the less it tends to rattle itself apart when you drive it a lot. Keep in mind RVs are really designed for more casual. Use and not extreme. Heavy frequency. That’s not something that is really talked about a lot out there, but get some folks into trouble with Unintentionally wrong expectations
@@JoshtheRVNerd thank you for responding to my question I’m sure you get bombarded . Technically we are not full time I guess we do try to travel 4 or five times a year . We have drug our aspen trail all over and it has been decent, but it’s time to upgrade to something that is a little better build for like when we go to Florida for our winter vacation, so we kinda fell in love with the Rockwoods and Flagstaffs but then I’ll see campers that say rated for full time rv so is that a marketing gimmick
Rockwood / Flagstaff have a better suspension than most, so that could help with the "rattling apart" part, and maybe the longevity. @@user-op1uv1mk6g
Josh my man.....Bud...we have to talk. You've been holding out. I need a video on the Ember TurDucken......Here I thougth It was 221MSL or bust. Come on Buddy.....I know I'm crashing this video but Ember just hit a Ton of stuff out of the market. E' Series ... Under 30' Swiss army knife TurDucken... Help me out here.
Things that I'd improve. 3kw inverter 48volts lithium battery 1.2kw solar panels And if possible Propane, and water capacity. At least one week survival package.
so every year i spend a week camping with friends and family will the batteries and solar keep up with the 12 volt dc compressor fridge for 7 days in a row and this is in june when its the sunniest and hottest
Josh, the pull down steps are too big outside of both doors. They take up much of the shaded space below the awning and are a tripping hazard. Can they be replaced with the pull out kind of steps? Most of the time, you just need the steps in the back down during the day when camping. Thanks
Another great video Josh. And a great new model from Rockstaff that I think I’m gonna buy. Another new standard feature for 2024 that used to not even be an option on the 26’ line is slam latches on storage doors. They really hit a homer with this new model and making pretty much everything standard.
I think they went away from the free standing table. All the videos I see now have the "legless" table, attached to the wall. What would have been cool, would have been a free standing table, that could adjust up to (almost) counter height, so you could move it over a bit, for food prep & cleanup duty.
Overall i like it. Too heavy for me to tow but i still like the floorplan. 2 things that i don't care for 1. Not much counterspace in kitchen 2. Why is big window behind sofa not centered? Looks odd. I like a walk thru bath. All mfgrs should use 12v TVs
Gosh darn it! Why does it have such a small gray water tank? 30 gallons fills in around 3 days (being very conservative) for those of us who camp without sewer hook ups. It is a deal killer! Make it 60 gals + and this camper would be nearly perfect!
Seems like a nice TT. Wouldn’t buy a TT with that kind of table. If the had a large pies of wood underneath you could replace it with a single leg . Also don’t like the small fold open drawer under the sink. Make it match the other drawers length. Not sure how fiberglass roof would hold up to walking on. Maybe 1/16 alum sheet would be better. Nice video Josh. Lets boycott the products in the ads before video.
The specs on screen were what was available when I made the video. This was early footage. It's possible they made changes that adjusted the specs since. it's fairly common when I'm working ahead of the curve like this
You don't need it in this size trailer. And believe me I know, I'm in the south east. This summer even with 117 degrees and high humidity, one 15k did great. Although starting with their 26' models, you can get 2 ac units.
I think they need to redo this into a 28-foot trailer. The kitchen needs more countertop. The bathroom needs to be a bit bigger for a pass-through, and the funky step-up in the bedroom just seems like they were trying to stuff everything in. A couple feet more - make mini lites up to 28 feet :)
@@JoshtheRVNerd We bought the Rockwood 2205s last year, but we're missing the dinette now. We like the "extras" Rockwood includes but really like the GD 23LDE better as far as layout and looks.
Not a long question at all Short answer: Definitely not Need about a 3,000w inverter to run an A/C And 600w or even 1200w of solar will not completely offset the A/C use. In fact the a/c will still likely deplete the batteries within several hours If you want to run an A/C while boondocking, then you really want to be considering a generator
Hi Josh, really like this model. But we are mostly doing offgrid camping and would really prefer the gas & electric fridge. I looked on their website and this type of fridge is still an option. Is this right? Is there any other models similar to this that offers thisd type of fridge?
Hello Josh! Like a lot of the features shown here on this model! Just wondering on this; is it a "two-headed sewer monster" for your drain tank(s), or is there on main connection for the gray tank(s)? Overall, I think this floor plan has a lot of potential! Thanks as always for the great video presentation! All the Best! ~Lou
Great video Josh, we we’re looking to see if you would pst one but wanted to get an order in so we already ordered. This will be a big upgrade over our mini lite 2306, just a couple questions. Was that the slate colored furniture and is 25’10” bumper to hitch dimensions or just the box. Love your videos, keep ‘em coming. 10/2 13:25
Why, why, why do they put the microwave up that high ? Not everyone is over 6' tall. Some put it near the floor, why ? That is ridiculous. Looks cozy, like the rest of the design.
I really like this camper but I’m struggling to find it in my area (within a few hundred miles). Is that because it’s to new? The closest Bish’s with it is Idaho and I’m on the East coast. What other campers are just like it/very similar?

I know this isn't the most popular opinion, but I like a couch that makes into a bed instead of the theatre seats. I read that this model could be ordered with a hideaway bed. Josh, what is your opinion of the hideaway bed in this model and do you know the size of the bed? Thanks for a response!!
I don’t know the size I’m sorry but our local team could dig into that for you!
No counter space
It is limited for sure
Where was this unit when we were looking to upgrade.....I love the 600 watt option for solar. And big enough storage area to put some lithium batteries.....tks for this walk through
I think it was busy not existing
Seriously considering this model as a solo camper with a 2100 payload capacity F150. I want to do a lot of boondocking in the national forests and parks across the US. This seems very manageable.
Awesome! TY for tuning in! :)
I liked the 2507s.
I think she was recently retired
I was going to order a 2507S in 2024. Unfortunately I can’t find a reasonable replacement. 2517S fails due to the slide mount fridge (I insist on 2-way which is ineffective in a slide).
Definitely a nice liveable unit. I know dual Azdel siding, but what are the R values on this Minnie? Can you sub a full size mattress? Just a bit more room around the bed.
No mattress swaptions from the factory. Rv Industry r values are unreliable. Too many brands publish completely unproven figures
Rvs typically have no more than r7-9 walls and 12-14 ceilings but you see numbers like 40 which is nonsense
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks
Josh, you gotta check out the 25SRK. It’s possibly the trailer that might dethrone the 22MLS, it’s that good. Dinette and sofa, huge bathroom because it’s a pass-through, roomy kitchen, and it’s a foot less length. And in typical “Rockstaff” fashion, there are premium choices all over. Gotta say, it’s a sweet one from pictures I’ve seen, haven’t caught it in person yet.
This is the 25SRK
Rockwood and flagstaff are the same thing.
Rockwood calls it 2515s
Flagstaff calls it 25SRK
This is the one we want!! Thank you Josh ❤️🙏
Great choice
I’d have to look but I think I get what you’re seeing
Very nice Josh you are so knowledgeable I appreciate it stay well
Thanks, will do!
Ye olde Freedom Slinger
Really nice model I really like this one. 👍
Glad you like it!
Perfect floor plan! Like the rectangular shower. Two questions: can you swap out the booth dinette for a table and chairs? And why does the bed have to be so high? Even don't worry about the 'two stage access' as you call it..
Pretty sure they offer table/chairs optionally
Bed has to go above the pass-thru
I like this trailer, it hits all my needs except for one, I prefer bathroom doors that are fully framed, not your stall door like this one has. Guess I am just weird that way.
👍🏻
Thanks for sharing, nice camper although Rockwood’s choice of using this type of dining table is a head scratcher, we had one in our Jayco and we disliked it to say the least very cumbersome to use!
I prefer simple folding legs vs the big elliptical base but that’s just me
I started watching rigor RV repair. Very interesting
The weights and measures are listed at the start of the video, the middle of the video, and in the description for you to check out anytime
Would make for a great opportunity to show off the entire Go Play series. Be great to meet you. Pizza 🍕 and Coors Lights on me.
I just passed recorded a bunch of them will probably be getting the last few floor plans in the near future as well
Super floor plan.
Glad you like it
Like the floor plan. Don't like the bathroom door gaps at top & bottom. Looking for a 1/2T towable couples trailer capable of getting off the pavement. Not sure if this fits or not. I live in Wyoming - mountains and wind. Would the Ember 201FBQ be a better fit?
Yeah look at embe And ibex stuff
I’ve already got the video done. I’m waiting on them to get me specs so I can finish it.
Things that I'd improve.
3kw inverter
48volts lithium battery
1.2kw solar panels
And if possible
Propane, and water capacity.
At least one week survival package.
That’s pretty much their new power package so you may be in luck
so every year i spend a week camping with friends and family will the batteries and solar keep up with the 12 volt dc compressor fridge for 7 days in a row and this is in june when its the sunniest and hottest
Thanks for sharing. This is suuuuper helpful
Josh, the pull down steps are too big outside of both doors. They take up much of the shaded space below the awning and are a tripping hazard. Can they be replaced with the pull out kind of steps? Most of the time, you just need the steps in the back down during the day when camping. Thanks
No step swaptions available on this as it turns out
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks for replying
Love this one but it's at the max of my 6.2 yukon towing capacity .hmmmm
If we wanted to swap in a true queen mattress, would we need to replace (or add to) the decking under it? Is that an easy fix?
If you want to sit on the edge of the bed it helps
It sleeps fine without - I’ve done it personally
Shoop was salt n pepa? Lol
Thank you, Josh!
My pleasure!
Another great video Josh. And a great new model from Rockstaff that I think I’m gonna buy. Another new standard feature for 2024 that used to not even be an option on the 26’ line is slam latches on storage doors. They really hit a homer with this new model and making pretty much everything standard.
Agreed! Glad they listened to that input
I think they went away from the free standing table. All the videos I see now have the "legless" table, attached to the wall. What would have been cool, would have been a free standing table, that could adjust up to (almost) counter height, so you could move it over a bit, for food prep & cleanup duty.
that's awesome! those are actually my preference
So much more sturdy
I think I'm still partial to the 2513S, but this one makes me pause...
High marks then!
Overall i like it. Too heavy for me to tow but i still like the floorplan.
2 things that i don't care for
1. Not much counterspace in kitchen
2. Why is big window behind sofa not centered? Looks odd.
I like a walk thru bath.
All mfgrs should use 12v TVs
Yeah window is odd. May be a prototype thing?
Like the 2nd entry door into the bedroom,. Could have a second shelf by the bed (on closet side) and if the top would open up would be nice.
Great idea!
Gosh darn it! Why does it have such a small gray water tank? 30 gallons fills in around 3 days (being very conservative) for those of us who camp without sewer hook ups. It is a deal killer!
Make it 60 gals + and this camper would be nearly perfect!
I believe this has 2 30 gallon Grey tanks.
For years I didn't allow ads on my vids. January of 2019 or 2020 they started forcing them
Is the hitch weight shown correct for the options? (849). I have seen it at 681 on Forest River web site. Thanks. Great vids, appreciate all the info.
The specs on screen were what was available when I made the video. This was early footage. It's possible they made changes that adjusted the specs since. it's fairly common when I'm working ahead of the curve like this
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks! Cheers!
No 2nd air option is a deal breaker for me. I wont have another rv without 2nd air.
That's exactly what grand design did: czcams.com/video/aj-VEKKC0Y4/video.html
You're going to love it
@@JoshtheRVNerd We bought the Rockwood 2205s last year, but we're missing the dinette now. We like the "extras" Rockwood includes but really like the GD 23LDE better as far as layout and looks.
Love the bedroom storage!!
😊
Great layout. Josh, does Rockwood make a rear living under 26 ft also? Or any manufacturer?
I’m not really thinking of one outside of a few Geo Pros but I dont think those qualify
@joshthervnerd - Will the 1800w inverter and 600w of solar and 2, 100w batteries run the A/C when boondocking? Apologies for the long question 😅
Not a long question at all
Short answer: Definitely not
Need about a 3,000w inverter to run an A/C
And 600w or even 1200w of solar will not completely offset the A/C use. In fact the a/c will still likely deplete the batteries within several hours
If you want to run an A/C while boondocking, then you really want to be considering a generator
Hi Josh, really like this model. But we are mostly doing offgrid camping and would really prefer the gas & electric fridge. I looked on their website and this type of fridge is still an option. Is this right? Is there any other models similar to this that offers thisd type of fridge?
I believe they do offer an 8cu ft gas/elec fridge still at this time
@@JoshtheRVNerd Power Package!
~Lou
Can’t recall the sewer setup. I think it’s Single
This unit had a bike rack on the hitch. Is that standard? Great job, as always 😅.
Yes it is!
Unsure on furniture color here. That was total length
@@JoshtheRVNerd thank you, that helps a lot.
Rockwood's website show's that the gray tank is 60 gallons? Can you confirm whether the gray tank is 60 or 30 gallons? Thanks.
30gal kitchen
30gal bath
60gal total
That's not the info they gave me when I got the early specs
I like the bedroom door
Love the oven
Why, why, why do they put the microwave up that high ? Not everyone is over 6' tall. Some put it near the floor, why ? That is ridiculous. Looks cozy, like the rest of the design.
I would love to give up some closet for washer dryer combo hook up in a true 1/2 ton towable
I really like this camper but I’m struggling to find it in my area (within a few hundred miles). Is that because it’s to new? The closest Bish’s with it is Idaho and I’m on the East coast.
What other campers are just like it/very similar?
Probably because it’s brand new. I released this footage before it actually even went into production from the factory. That will resolve with time.
Fantastic!! Thank you!
I don’t like the 10 or 12 inch step ups on both sides of the bed. What is the reasoning for that. I see it on a lot of the campers like this.
Those are covering things like the pass-through compartment, water, heaters, or other appliances like that
Great looking!😮❤
I think so too!
Goid video Josh
Two drains?
How does the power grid on the roof stand up to the snow in winter
If covered it does nothing
