I always put screws in the side walls. Gives better balance and traction when ya get in deep ruts. Way cheaper than the tape version. I used the tape version for a while but I converted to the bubble lvl and screws.
I prefer screws also being they are a little more temporary. I can always adjust as needed 😂
I prefer removing a nut in the unbalanced area

I just take all four tires off the rims and drive on the rims. I'm too cheap to have my tires balanced

I know this was just for grins and giggles but our Hunter balancer shows a mode for a "patch weight " applied to the inside of the tire, never seen it, but I can imagine the advantages of the problem with wheel slippage and rim swapping.

Worked for triple s tires and when they went out of bussiness started working for Goodyear as a tire buster.
Boss always had a power attude untill he found out i was trained on tru spoke rims for correct torque adjustment and also could calibrate the nortron wheel balancer.
The factory rep would charge him 260.00 for each visit but when i did it i got 0 dollars.
When he was caught trimming the till the company let everyone go so the shop would have a clean start..
Depending on what car and tires you wanted , i could have you in and out with four mounted and balanced in less than 10 minutes.
That is when i was 25 and fast but i am 67 now and a lot slower due to age . but still would like to see if i could beat a young pups work.😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😣😣😣
My hustle time is 10-12 minutes for a loose set of rims mounted and balanced solo... How could you lift, remove, dismount, mount, balance, install, torque and tire pressure in 10 minutes...
You would have customers coming to you, bc it would have done right the first time. I’d take slow and done correctly over fast and crooked any day. Don’t count yourself done yet 👍
He probably still uses beer kegs for Jack stands. Shade tree mechanics!

Are u fricken kidding me? Ok, 1st of all like some1 already mentioned, I don't balance a tire, I balance a wheel. U mount a tire on a WHEEL and then balance the wheel because the TIRE isn't perfectly symmetrical and has thicker and thinner layers not disable to the makes eye. However I can, most times, see the wobble when the WHEEL is spun on a fixed location at a high speed. 2nd, for God sacks if you are going to claim you are showing us all how to balance a "tire," then plz explain your idiotic explanation of "tire balancing" because as far as I could see all you've shown me is that all I need to do to "balance a tire" is tape a weight on the tire at 10 o'clock position and " it's all good." Fricken Genesis. How did u ever figure that super smart trick out? It's like magic! One side is wobbling and suddenly it hit u to stop the wobble by taping a weight on one side to make spun straight! God, and to think we've been using methods that are so complicated for centuries and that's all we had to do this whole time. Geez, are we stupid. Duhhh, Its all good. Moroan.

Ok, I'm confused someone please explain this for me, like wtf are you balancing like that? Not the mf tire for sure.🤣 If its taped it's not moving, right? And I have never seen this done this way, EVER. Havent sent it be done this way at the shop I went to nor has it at the shop I briefly worked at( not being arrogant, just stating my knowledge of visual history lma(
