  • If you have taken your Glock apart, and now it's back together but won't fire when you pull the trigger, how can you disassemble it ? In this video I will show you how to safely and easily disasssemble the Glock so you can correct the problem. I am using my Glock 19, Gen 3 in this video but the information will pertain to all Glock models.

I agree with Bob BTRAVLIN, once you removed the rear slide cover, that releases the striker assembly to be pulled out. You did not have to remove the extractor depressor plunger, the extractor or the safety plunger to remove the slide.

Thanks for the video, I thought I was lost. Once I got the slide off, I watched your re assembly video and put my 23 back together. My problem was that the trigger was really stiff, sometimes it would get better, then it would get bad again. Soon I was having to use two hands to pull the trigger and it wouldn't break until I began to release the trigger (scary). After about two pulls like that it stopped breaking all together. After reassembly it worked but quickly began doing the same thing.

Very good video, but there is an easier way to do this. If you pull the trigger but it won't release the firing pin (so you can't remove the slide), do the following -
    1) Understand all firearm safety rules and ensure your firearm isn't loaded and that you don't have a round in the chamber
    2) Pull the trigger fully to the rear and hold it there
    3) The back plate of your slide has two openings - insert a very thin screwdriver (a 1/16" punch works great) into the right side (non-square) opening at a slightly upward angle.
    4) Press the point of your punch down (you're pressing down on the cruciform shaped part of the trigger that releases the firing pin) and your firing pin should release, allowing you to remove your slide. Hope this helps!

AFT you pull the firing pin, reinstall the slide cover keeping the extractor in place, then remove the slide as normal.
That keeps the extractor and firing pin safety assembled.

thanks for the video, I think my issue is the recoil rod. when i go to break down the slide from the frame it jams, and i need to use moderate force to pull it off and noted the rod where it meets the barrel is constantly off, whereas if i am gentle and assemble and disassemble the weapon while it is inverted no issues.

Just so you would know at 2:28 that is isn't called a an ejector - that is called the extractor. Ejector is a Sharp PIN that - ejects the Shell out. Extractor - extracts and holds the Shell out of the breech (Barrels Chamber) when the Gun has been fired.
