We're back with another fire podcast featuring my mentor, one of the best defensive-minded & Super Bowl-winning coach in the NFL and the current DC Defenders defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams! Adam Peters is cooking! Coach G-Dub and I discuss all the free agents the Commanders signed from Days 1-3. We dig deep into what they bring to the team and assign each player a GRADE. Additionally, we talk about the trade of Sam Howell to the Seahawks and speculate on who could potentially be the next quarterback drafted in the upcoming draft. _Pffft!_ They could have gotten Fields for late-round draft picks from Next Season & traded their #2 pick For A Wad! They may have changed owners, but historically there has been no team worse at drafting QBs than the Commanders except the Broncos.

Adam is an ace with drafting in rounds 5-7. He hasn't drafted yet but I will trust him to continue to do so. Grade A. He is a big part of bringing off season excitement to the Commanders. Who's not excited everyday to see who we've picked up.

The morning of Gregg’s interview with Snyder was exciting because of the fact we were getting our new HC for the next decade. It was obvious he had all the attributes plus the “killer instinct” that’s needed in war. It’s been a long time since but I’m pretty sure I cried when I found out the POS Snyder had fired him.
I loved Gregg! I was hoping they would have brought him back. ❤

Well they wanted a veteran who could relate to Jayden and who they have had experience with. You’re not gonna have Howell mentor a 1st round draft pick who won the Heisman. Mariota is the perfect person cause he’s been in that exact spot. 1st round heisman winner.

Dude ain’t paying attention. Drake (and Sam) ran the Air Raid at UNC and has plenty of wheels for Kliffs offense (ran 4.6 40) AP had Jayden at a 5th rounder in 2022. Gonna tell me he has him at number 2 overall a year later? After one good season on a loaded team? Not buying it. Why in the world would he/we roll the dice on an another skinny college style quarterback? The chances of a 200 lb (so they say. Don’t actually know since he refused to be weighed at the combine) quarterback being consistently successful in the NFL are minuscule. JD’s All-22 wasn’t kind to him either. Essentially zero over the middle game. No darts into tight spaces, no driving the ball down field splitting zones, no crossing routes, no digs, basically no underneath game. The bread and butter throws of the NFL. Everything is over the top lofty one on one corner routes, one on one post routes and one on one go balls. Even worse he consistently bailed the pocket after his first read and ran with several open targets. The same shit Fields is struggling with 4 years into his career. Conversely, the All-22 film was very kind to Caleb and Drake. They both thrive down the middle, make all those throws and more consistently stayed in the pocket through all their reads. When they did bail they kept their eyes up field looking to throw. Yes Drake and Caleb have issues as well. Drakes footwork, head scratcher plays outta nowhere, and throwing motion got a little long later in the season. Caleb 70% of his plays off schedule, INT’s etc. Their games translate to the next level better imo as well as many others. College style quarterbacks are just unsustainable. If they take Jayden I’ll certainly be the biggest fan possible. I’ll just have to cross my fingers, hold my breath every snap and yes hope he’s not another Griffin and get broke TF early in his career. Hope he’s smart enough to learn the passing game. Took him 5 years in college. Just sayin.

I wouldn't read a Jayden Daniel's pick into them bringing in Mariota. They wanted Sam Darnold first but he went elsewhere.

Yes sir Gregg Williams was my favorite Def coordinator to for the Redskins!! And he coached my favorite Sean Taylor and made him the hitter and just all around great player he was !!! But on Peter's I think he got those picks to give to bears 🐻 for Caleb Williams, I believe that's what is truly going on !!! I mean come on they go out and get Keenan Allen they're keeping fields plus he has no team to go to !! Yes my Washington faithful CALEB WILLIAMS WILL BE ARE FRANCHISE QUATETBACK !!! HGO GUYS
