ahem *blackberry priv*
LG had a feature phone like that. I owned one and it was awesome.
I had two PRIVs (due to theft and attempted theft) and I've gotta say, as someone who only uses Blackberries and only Blackberries in the smartphone era, it was the shittiest build quality of them all (and the rest are great). Damn things ended up squeaking like a hundred year old wooden floors when typing. The sharp edges had me thinking I could use them as ninja throwing stars. I still have a 'PRIV-mark' in some pairs of pants because it rubbed so sharply in the pocket that it wore a hole in one spot. The battery life was terrible. Barely a day when every other Blackberry I've had (RIM or TCL) lasts multiple days with ease.I had great hopes for the PRIV but they fucked that one up. It also got hot at times which never happens with any other. I wish they would do a modern Torch version. Loved those things.

Wow, this actually makes it sound like the PERFECT phone for me, accustomed to the iPhone as I have been for the last five years. Easy-to-use communication and organization apps? Sweet! Tighter security? Hell yeah! Features that actually disincentivize content consumption so I'm not tempted to look at my phone as much as I would be with another smartphone? YES PLEASE. I'll have to keep this in mind when my current phone finally dies.
I think you made an interesting point, particularly at the end of your comment. "When my current phone finally dies" and not when my contract is up, which I think most people would say. My point is, you're probably right, it's a great phone for you for the reasons you mentioned, but buyers like you represent a very small segment of the market. Itll be interesting to see if BB continues to feel it's a large enough segment to continue targeting, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy the phone!

I love this phone, though I am a mechanical keyboard junkie. I actually need this device to administrate servers on the go. Anyone who has ever logged into a Unix server using a mobile phone knows the woes of using a virtual keyboard.
The period key is an easy fix, just make it where a double tap on the space bar puts in a period. The rest of the punctuation is easy to use, as the more you use something the better placement it is in the menu. It's a learning keyboard taking less than three days before you find your stride.
You can hide the navigation buttons or move them completely using a simple app. Actually everything in this phone can be customized to your individual needs with ease. You just have to know how to do it, like spend some time reading, oh my gosh, the horror. In fact I am positive if I spent just 30 minutes with Linus I could have solved all of his issues.
Everyone, I mean everyone who had this phone and didn't like it was because they really didn't know how to use it or didn't spend the time in making it into the ultimate tool. Which when you finially do, this phone is amazing, honest, no embellishment, just amazing.
However and again, I'm an IT professional and I actually need a real keyboard. No, I dont want one, I need one. Virtual keyboards drive me insane when editing in VIM or navigating a Unix server 1000's of KM away. Heck, I even create scripts on my BB without issue.
This phone isn't for everyone, it's a work phone, not for play and this is its biggest issue with most. If you need the ultimate communication device, this is it. If you watch tons of media and play games, look elsewhere. I do that stuff on a tablet with a connected game pad as a phone is just to small.
Eh. I've used my phone to ssh into servers, and the bigger issue was being able to read the terminal rather than typing and this doesn't seem like it would solve that. Anyway, I got an xps 13 for on the go sysadmining and it's so light and easy to tote around - even the PSU is tiny. Love it.
Get Hacker's Keyboard. It's better on a tablet/large screen, but even on smaller Androids is much better than stock for those that want a full keyboard experience.
belg4mit Tried it, not a fan, nothing beats a physical keyboard. I recently bought a Gemini PDA/Phone and installed Debian on it, it's a great mobile IT appliance, highly recommend one if your are an Uber geek like myself. Though for my daily routine, nothing beats the BB.
I am a Linux sysadmin but I see no advantage in having a physical keyboard. I am so used to soft keyboards, that I had to actually think about "pressing down" on the key the last time I tried a BB or an older Nokia phone. It caused me finger fatigue. That said, you need to find a good android keyboard and a good terminal app. I use ConnectBot and AOSP keyboard on LineageOS.
You do get software keyboards on Android that are a lot more friendly to programmers and bash'ers. Of course, you could always just get a bluetooth keyboard, Samsung made one that folds up and has a touch pad built in. It's really nice, has much larger keys as well.

This is why I loved my Priv so much when I had it. Full size touch screen when you need it, physical keyboard when you need it.
I actually LOVED my experience with the Key2. Planning to purchase another one soon
Speaking from a longer-term perspective: I've had the KeyONE as my phone for almost a year now. There are minor differences between this one and the Key2 but it seems they're mostly the same in the way they work. This has actually been my first BlackBerry phone so I don't have the before and after comparison from the old models to the new ones. I went from Nokias to iPhones (up until the iPhone 6S) and now to the Blackberry.
Moving from the touch screen keyboard to the physical keyboard was nothing short of life-changing! I would estimate I make LESS than 10% of the typos that I used to make on a touch screen keyboard and I don't even make use of the more advanced features like the gestures or swipes.
I agree that the camera leaves a lot to be desired after having come from the iPhones. Increasing exposure within the camera app sometimes helps a little but forget about any sort of movement in low light conditions. In comparison though: Battery life is incredible! As a small business owner I am on my phone all day, every day and rarely do I have to charge it before my usual nightly charge, even after a 12-15 hour working day. I don't even take a charger or cable with me anywhere. No chance of that on any of my previous iPhones. Not even close. Charge cables and portable batteries were my lifeblood!
There are times that I do miss the way things work on an iPhone but that's more of an Android vs iOS can-of-worms that I'm not even going to attempt to delve in to here and now... I still haven't made up my mind as to whether I would stay with it or go back to an iPhone but on my current upgrade cycle I still have about another year to decide so that's future-me's problem to deal with :P
Hey Linus,
Normally I find your reviews useful and insightful, however for this one I think you completely missed the point of this device, I believe you are not the target market for it in the least, as your review essentially says that your usage of a mobile phone is basically web browsing, taking photos and watching videos, probably some gaming as well, hardly the email-centric/ productivity minded business user.
Allow me to explain how in the past 5 weeks of using the Key2 it has proven to be the phone that I needed for business uses.
Some background context: I'm a 33 year old small business owner who specializes in large format printer and laser printer repair, I also supplement my income on weekends by cooking, what this leads to is what I have coined as "dead technician hands" while useful for unscrewing/tightening screws/bolts as well as taking food/pans out of a 350f+ oven barehanded it makes using an all touch device essentially impossible, standing over 6'2" I have large, leathery, calloused, " man hands" that have, historically, never worked right on an all touch phone, and it's not for my lack of trying them, iPhone 3G through 6+, Samsung Note's 2+3, Samsung Galaxy S5+S6+S7, LG G4, even ancient handsets like BlackBerry Z10, all had the same issue, the keyboards never register what I'm actually pressing, so a physical keyboard is a must have for a mobile device for me, I can't send a 1000+ word email on an all touch device without so many spelling and punctuation mistakes that it makes it appear as though I can't grasp basic English or care so little about spelling and punctuation that any C level executive I email would be unable to take me or my business seriously.
Enter the Key2, a phone who's battery lasts from 630am to 100am reliably every day (yes, being self employed the hours can be very long), a phone that can easily accommodate the numerous emails I need to send every day to various customers with near zero spelling or grammatical errors, a phone that has an SD card slot so I can keep my 38Gb of service manuals on my phone for easy access. I am frequently sent confidential blueprints/proofs/documents as examples of print quality issues, knowing that security is still a major priority for BlackBerry's gives both me and my customers peace of mind.
In the 5 weeks I've been using the Key2 I have spent the vast majority using it as it's intended, to communicate via phone, emails, text and social media, I have literally spent about 3 hours watching the odd show on Netflix, which as expected, wasn't as good of an experience as watching it on my TV or laptop. I don't play mobile games because, to be quite frank, they all pale in comparison to almost any PC/Xbox title. If you intend to play Fortnite or PUBG then of course this phone will not be the device for those specific situations, it was never intended to have users spend most of the day gaming/watching videos. The Key2 has always been intended as a business minded productivity device, comparing it to other "flagship devices" that are specifically designed around gaming and media consumption as their primary usages is like saying "this screwdriver makes a terrible hammer" or "these steel toed work boots make terrible scuba flippers", using a device not as it is intended and designed to be used will always provide a sub-par experience using said device.
As for the fear of lacking updates, BlackBerry releases monthly security patches just like google, the carriers do not always push the updates, but that is not the fault of BlackBerry or TCL. The Priv (2015) launched with android 5, it was later upgraded to 6.0.1, the Keyone (2017) launched with 7.1 and has just been upgraded to 8.1, I see no reason why BlackBerry wouldn't provide at least 1 major OS upgrade like it has for its previous devices, unlike my Note 2 that started on 4.1 and never got upgraded past 4.4 and my galaxy S6 that is still on 7.0. Most devices seem to get updates for 2 years or so, regardless of manufacturer.
Creating keyboard shortcuts combined with the "speed key" (the 9 dotted key beside sym) I can easily swap between any app without ever having to go "home" or scroll to find what app I want, I can jump from reading a PDF to my emails then to excel then to spotify then to Waze effortlessly with no "home" downtime.
Also no one mentions that you can walk and type without looking at the device once you learn the keyboard, muscle memory is a real thing and it works beautifully with physical buttons, try accurately sending a long, well punctuated email without looking at your all touch devices on screen keyboard.
This device is absolutely not for everyone, but as a business communication device it is the best phone I have ever used in that regard, sure my Note 2/S6 were better for watching Netflix or spending 10-15 minutes gaming, but that was about it, as communication devices they were sub par in almost all regards, call quality, message/text accuracy, ease of use, etc.
What in the fuck... You really think someone will read all that? Nice try Blackberry CEO
Allow me to TLDR for you then, if ~1000 (878 actual) words is to much to read this device is not designed with you in mind. If you use mobile phones as a communication tool and frequently type/read 1000+ word emails/blog posts/etc then it is likely a device designed and targeted at you
Oh I read your little essay, you're just wrong on so many points it's laughable you're trying to call them out
You claim that I am incorrect on "so many points", it would be great if you would elaborate on which points are "just wrong"
A wise man once said "Don't argue with stupid cause they will never ever get it".
2010 Linus looks exactly like an iphone owner
jeezo? he's scrolling up with his thumb on the screen instead of using the keyboard as a scroll pad????
It's not for everyone but the keyboard shortcuts do allow you to navigate Android more efficiently than without. You didn't go into details about the SpeedKey and barely touched on the shortcuts, which make this phone like no other Android.
I went from multiple all touch Androids to a KEYone and now have a hard time going back to an all touch. Yes, $650 is a rip off for the specs and subpar camera. But ~$400 for a Black Edition KEYone is acceptable to me.
There's a Keytwo LE (light édition) and cheaper coming out soon
yeah you can do more things with PKB, but you also can't do more things with pkb. Let say you can use shortcuts and mutitasking with the new key (that's it). but in order to have that you loose your screen real estate for contents and many more possibilities, you can't have dynamic keyboard that could change depens on what you're typing (I mostly typing japanese sometime). And mostly gesture based keyboard is done much better on VKB.
DTEK app is just .... In non blackberry android, marshmallow and above, is simple to manage apps permission under setting-app.
Nasal Chain The DTEK app is not just about managing app permissions but also about monitoring what apps are actually with the permissions you granted them.
Yeah I know. In android you not only can show the each app's permissin, you can also see all your running permissions that being use by your apps
It's a serious phone for serious people. LOL. Phrase taken from Flossy Carter. I put video viewing secondary to customization and fast access to things I need to do. I type English only and prioritize accuracy over emojis and stickers. You can install your other VKBs and use the PKB at the same time (although no gesture features). So you're not missing anything. It depends on your priorities.
Great so blackberry made a phone that should work for me but doesn't because i have huge hands. Damnit.
Well...... I have average hands, but if you ever held a Priv and used its keyboard. I know the KeyOne was even bigger then the Priv.
The Key2, is even bigger then the KeyOne.
I own both a Priv and KeyOne, and from what I understand from what I seen in pictures in comparison to my KeyOne.

Always used a blackberry cause it fits my taste. Well built, not designed like ever other phone out there. Very creative design. I had 3 Blackberrys and love them. Ty.
I have both the BB Priv, and the Key2. I like the BB phones due to their physical keyboards. The BB phones look different from the sea of slate style phones that are currently on the market. Furthermore I find that typing is far easier on the BB keyboards. Having said that, I realize that BB is not for everyone and I respect, and thank you, for your review- well done.
I use a blackberry. But more importantly, I use a PRIV. it has an oled display and is a great phone in every way except battery. i used a keyone and no, it isnt great. Its not terrible, but not great. If they revisited the priv, they'd have a good phone. Because the keyboard is totally optional and it only exists when you want it. its proper and fast and I try to use other phones but keep the priv as my daily driver

Im gonna use keyone for mostly whatsapp instagram, youtube that sort of things for gaming i think my v20 is more than enough for now, but the battery is killing me with 3.5hrs SoT or less(have to carry 2 batteries to get 6 hrs) so mostly I will use it for important messaging i don't do social media like fb or isntagram...what hold me not to buy it is because many reviewer said their keyone is slow time to time..... But with recent price drop i want to try it but idk if it worth it....
Laurent S it'd be great for that. It's great for Internet stuff. Better than iphones and the priv. So for you, the keyone would be a solid choice in my opinion
I just bought a blackberry Priv about 1 1/2 months ago as a first time blackberry user and i have to say i'm gonna hold on to it as long i still feel its up to the job of modern apps. honestly the slider mechanism feels really solid, i love the physical / capacitive keyboard, and it's the fastest phone ive ever owned. and DTEK is really great at helping me keep my phone free and secure
i had to return mine, it kept overheating and draining all of the battery in 2 hours. I got the keyone after that, great phone, keyboard is way better.
how is it?
How can I get an LTX shirt like the blue one you have on in the stream??
Very good analysis
I just got the Key 2. I can see why most people wont like it . It needs a better camera , and those buttons between the keyboard and screen are a pain in the ass, but I had been using my BB Classic now for 4 years, and the battery was starting to give up. Coming from the Classic this seems like a Cadillac. I love a physical keyboard and right now this was my best option. I can do so much more with this phone than I could on my Classic . Maybe If I had used a glass slab the past 4 years I would feel the same way you do. Just glad BB is still in the game . p.s. Yes I watched the entire video knowing you were going to dump on it . :)
When the blackberry priv first came out I wanted one but never got one because I already had an expensive phone. If they would continue that line with lets say, the priv 2 someday, I might consider it. As long as the design doesn't change too radically.
I still love the blackberry curve and bold I used to own... I sincerely hope there is a way blackberry can make a comeback with their keyboard... I remember the bold keyboard it was great...
The primary use of a smartphone is not taking pictures and videos. For us blackberry users, what matters the most is quick access and input. I use my phone for calls, text, email, calendar, notes, passwords. My phone is a tool for me, it's not a time-wasting device with never ending distractions. The Classic has the best keyboard ever put on a smartphone. Probably as good as or even better than the one on the 8700. There are still users out there rocking the legendary 9900 almost ten years after its release, because it was and still is a superb communication device. Compact and light with all the essentials. Built to last. Differentiated form all the slabs of glass nowadays that are all so uninspiring, as if they were all designed by the same person. When you see an 8 year old carrying an iPhone, you know it's a toy/play device and not a real communication tool. It's a shame that BlackBerry decided to leave the smartphone market. OS10 was way ahead of its competitors, and to date, BlackBerry still has a huge user base. I'm still rocking the bold 9900 in rotation with the Classic and wouldn't give up these devices for nothing.
Nick K Agreed a 100%
I think the goodness of the Key2 in the body of the Priv would make for a pretty solid phone. I really like the design of the Priv, but it's internal hardware is a bit lacking, and it's the reverse for the key2.
I wonder how plausible it is to put one into the other.
Blackberry is still transitioning. They're doing well on Android but I'm sure their next phone will be much better.
Blackberry isn't a company anymore, they are made by TCL under that name.

I find it difficult to use full touch phones, just as u r finding it hard to learn the keyboard. the inaccuracy in typing and too much focus on the screen while typing on the screen keyboard, is just a discomfort for most BB users. I use the Keyone, and thats the best device i have bought in 2018. I hope they will never stop making devices with physical keyboards.
IGN review: 6/10 too many keys
leonthesleepy 6.5/10 wrong use of meme
Darn, i'll get them next time boss!
leonthesleepy I didn't see Riley in this video once?
was it really ign's review?
too many? I'd say not enough.
Blackberry is the ja rule of smartphones.... It just won't go away.
Blackberry Curve, Torch, Passport, Key1, Key2 (in-use)... still hold them and all are still alive, using the Key2. I love them all.
I still use it today and I think it's great. Would love for more phones to have a physical keyboard.
I can't stand these thumbnails were people facepalm themselves for attention
whoring is life
Is this a new trend for tech CZcamsrs to put hands on their faces in the thumbnails?
Lol even John from technobuffalo was doing the same hand-on-face pose in his thumbnail from his most recent video. Somehow it draws more views?
coffee keeps me going their clickbait-ish... adds some drama
it's called a "facepalm"
Yup. It's the new small red circle with an arrow pointing at it
Is it a new trend that douchebags whinge at every little thing they see online?
Used the BB Bold 9790 for a long time (until AUG 2019), tried out the BB Storm1 (what an awful experience), tried out the BB classic in 2018 (always using a small size android tablet in parallel), was disappointed by the new manufacturer TCL and tried the BB Key2 in SEP 2019. Unbelievable but true: I love the BB Key 2! Android modified to a very comfortable system and harmonized with blackberry standards. For me: The bridge between the classical Blackberry and the typical android smart phone. Focus on: A physical Keyboard, Mailing, Calendar and phoning. I guess, the most important thing for me, is a real quick calendar application, what I found right now on the Key 2. Great device!
I can recommend this device to everyone who´s familiar with the BB keyboard or who´s willing to learn how to handle it. Everyone who´s not a “smartphone-gamer” or “smartphone-movie-junkie”. :) Buy it!!!
When BlackBerry starts manufacturing phones again I’d love for them to go back to a design like the Prive. A physical keyboard when you need/want one, a standard near-bezeless smartphone when you don’t! I could get into that!
My main issue is the price point of the device... I think it should have come in at about $450-$500 USD considering its chip set
I adored the keyboard on my Blackberry Passport, so if this one is anything like that one, I know it's at least for me.
I own a blackberry Key2 and I love it. Other than my first phone, a Sanyo SCP2300, (which I used to the point the antenna ripped off and I glued an extendable FM radio antenna to. I got amazing service by the way) I have always had a blackberry. My company gave me an iPhone and the thing is a piece of you know what. I never want to loose my physical keyboard.
Hey Linus I bought that view 71 case in black , sexy as ever , was so excited wheeling that thing through microcenter and I was meticulous putting it into the car , I seat belted it in for the ride home ..I get to house and carried it in like a new baby , sat it down and started to slowly unbox it , and the flipping door panel had a crack right down the middle . Took it back to be told it was the only one in stock and not sure when I'd be able to get a replacement...
i use 4 different blackberrys.. might be because i administrate a blackberry server for the corporation i work for.
My main is the BB-passport, and i rock a 9900 Bold when i'm out doing drinking.
What do you think of the classic/Q20?
@@BigRizza1 I've got one coming from the UK if you're still interested in knowing what it's like, currently on a Z10 myself, although I've used a modded S2, a Galaxy A5 and a BlackBerry Priv in the past. (4 years ago I used a Bold 9700 as my first phone out of high school)
@@fuzzyquils I must have bought one right after posting that comment, because I've been using a classic as my daily phone for months now. It's perfect for what I need, whatsapp still works too
Beautiful, because I got it as I wanted the best of both worlds; my spare Bold 9900 + the Z10's software as it basically does everything I need otherwise. Hoping covid doesn't delay delivery
@@fuzzyquils Same reasons as me pretty much although I was still using a curve! Shame about the state of BB today. BB world still works too, btw :) and waze for navigation
I have the BlackBerry Priv and i actually like it (one great thing is how exclusive it is, people are always surprised to see the brand they thought disappeared). It has a proper keyboard which slides out from the bottom and the phone is not really thicker than competitors from the same era. I see no real benefit to Android 7 nougat, although i like to keep software up to date for security reasons.
Hlynur Stefánsson Actually Blackberry should have kept the same form factor , improved the keyboard and battery life , provided better software updates , added SD835 and called it a day for $650. That would have been amazing.
This form factor has no relevance in 2018.
Oh yes, the Priv is the right form-factor, it also allows for on screen keyboard and physical, what ever you prefer (and something to hold on while you watch movies, i always do with the keyboard extended. The problem with all other smartphones is that they are one giant screen, no way to hold and watch movie in comfort, than the stupid notch which is almost dislike more than this 1/4 keyboard 3/4 screen on the Key2, but that form just looks silly, slide is the best.
congrats old man
Just pointing out the relentless marketing about innovation, there has been very little innovation in the phone market recently, every generation is 5-10% better than the last, but both phones will do the same thing, you will feel the difference between 2-4 generations of phones. You will learn that one day young man, not all new shiny things are better.
We all wish for a PRIV 2 ... (typing from my BlackBerry Priv)
I use the previous version, blackberry key one and I like it. I've been using it for almost a year. I recomend it
Thank you for the awesome review. Sorry that you had to suffer for it!
my guy just plugged in a pair of 250 ohm headphones into a blackberry, i bet it sounded..... Fantastic 😍
Did he say ChatSnap?? (3:12)
right?
That's hilarious
He's taking the piss out of losers that use snapchat.
Rabbi Shekelberg. Or you and Linus are old?
acdc14terrace nah Snapchat users are just generic in general
I recently went from a failing keyone to an S10+ and was amazed by how much of the screen was used for the software keyboard over the hardware keyboard, even in this video when the screen shifts up to have the keyboard on it it's 25% +/- larger than the keytwo's area used, and as a professional I don't think emojis belong in chat or emails and never want to use them
Great video Linus,
Have you had a chance to review any of the "Most Secure/Private Smartphones? (i.e). Silent Circle's Black Phone 2, Bittium's Tough Mobile 2, Blackberry DTEK50/60?
I use most of the BlackBerry apps such as virtual keyboard, launcher and HUB on my stock android Chinese phone with Cobalt's BlackBerry Manager.
Ah yes. The ChatSnap generation! Historians say that this generation never existed and was pure myth.
I don't understand people who complain about video aspect ratio and such when it comes to phones. Who is actually watching entire movies on their phone? I never watch anything that's longer than about 7 minutes on my phone.
I have the Blackberry Motion which is essentially a keyboard-less version of the same phone and I gotta say it does it's job and it does it well.
Linus: complains about unintuitive scrolling on Key2
me, happy Key1 user: holds phone by the keyboard and rotates it to landscape to utilize the keyboard for scrolling seamlessly while display provides a lot of space for content
You sound like an employee
@@pravda9646 nah, I sound like someone who actually can use the tech... so much for linus 'tech tips'
SEnergy You’re disgusting.
Why though?
Why get the key?
Its not really worth for most people
@@swapnilgarg6695 depends on what you classify as "worth"... blackberry is not as expensive as samsung/apple/oneplus or other brands, it comes with a lot of cool productivity and security features and an AMAZING keyboard... I don't need 8core CPU and 8GB RAM or w/e current phones come with, I don't use my phone for "gaming", I got a gaming PC for that, I don't need to spend 900eur on a 6" screen that discharges after 8 hours and barely fits in my hand, and I just hate typing on the screen, just like a lot of other people... just so we are clear, blackberry keyboards are unlike the keyboards on the old phones, they carry a LOT of useful functionality, are touch-sensitive and overall very, very useful and a pleasure to work with
So a screen on a blackberry with playstore
This is a phone for old school people
Too expensive
the true blackberry was much better. better keyboard, better experience.
I say it's trash
my co worker got one. she had one of those old black berry for like 6 years. so she wanted a blackberry she is like 60 ish. so its all new for her :) dont know the phone is fucking heavy. notr a fan
No it isn't my BB is lighter than my wifes S8 or my daughter S9. I don't need a second case around it that weighs even more. No one complains about the weight of their galaxy notes either. If you think the key2 is heavy get the key2 LE it uses carbon fibre instead of aluminum 156 grams. Galaxy s9 163 Grams.
I have the Blackberry Priv and absolutly love it. Hoping for a new version. :)
That was the nicest way to ask to watch your video: I will watch it two times :)
Why the hell you still scrolling using the touchscreen??
I've had a lot of phones. And the key 2 is one of my favourites. I like an actual keyboard. Runs smooth and goes all day no problem without a charge. I take battery life over more powerful processor.
Even though I would never buy any of these phone but still watches every phone review
The keyboard is perfect on the key2, the blackberry menu works perfectly, the fingrrprint sensor works really well. Email and security is the best.
I'd still prefer it over touch screen keypads tbh.
I wonder when a real CEO or someone the needs a phone like this will review it. PS it feels better on m hands than a S10 or x
What kind of pen is that? I love the way the writing looks.
It’s Monday August 1st 2022. I have just bought my a blackberry Key2 (my 4th Blackberry device running android now) and the 2nd Key2. You have highlighted a ton of positives for not liking it but I’m telling you for durability, security and the nostalgia I’m on board with this phone. Only outdone by the Priv in my opinion, you can do a LOT more with this phone than you have highlighted. For what it’s worth also, the Blackberry 10 devices still stand up to modern usage (not as consumption devices as BB would say) but as reliable, charge and boot up in a pinch bc your kid threw your Galaxy S400 in the lake….. blackberry devices will outlive any device (aside from the old Nokia phone) as they don’t suffer from “touch disease” or intentional software downgrades etc. as much as people complain that they aren’t good for social media etc etc there ARE REALLY people out here who don’t a damn about if their device is ok for CZcams.
So I am not the only one who still uses periods in messages.
#PunctuationMasterRace
you're not alone, definitely.
Who the fuck doesn't use periods?
Khaled Elbalal well for messaging purposes periods are subconsciously seen as something negative, so I can understand the lack of periods on messages. But I don’t see why people won’t use periods for typing anything else besides for convenience.
You're not alone. I also type out my words.
@@khaledelbalal6827 Men don't use periods that's a womens thing. Oh wrong kind. :P
I agree with all of your thoughts - though I will buy this device for that!
Media consumption on a phone? I am too old for that: 9" tablet, 13" Notebook, 50" Plasma. Never gamed on a smartphone since 2007.
Anybody know if Blackberry have plans to make more of them? I really want one and currently prices are insane because of scarcity.
I feel like the perfect smartphone would have minor bezels, no hole punch, a solid build quality, great cameras, very good specs, and a tactical keyboard that slides out when you need it and slides back in so you get a full smartphone.
Unfortunately those lovely tactile keyboards are gone, I can't get a tactical keyboard CASE for the note 9
I come to my feed looking for LTT. Nothing, refresh, "posted 10 seconds ago"... okay, that's better.
It be way better if the key board was attachable like a switch.
My brother still loves his because he still wants the physical keyboard but I gave up quite a long time ago especially with SwiftKey and Gboard were getting so much better.
I just really really miss when blackberry was the best thing when I was younger. I miss them so much but I feel like I've been in the touchscreen ecosystem too long to go back to them. The nostalgia tears at my heart lol.
