Cream Cheese Banana Stuffed French Toast

- 14 slices of sandwich bread (you need 2 slices of bread for each stuffed french toast sandwich)
8 oz. cream cheese at room temp
4 bananas, cut into slices
ground cinnamon
egg mixture for french toast:
5 large eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
butter for cooking
topping for french toast:
french toast seasoning
syrup
reddi whip
In a large bowl whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon and set aside.
Take two pieces of bread and spread a little cream cheese on one side of each bread slice.
Then sprinkle with some cinnamon, layer some banana slices next on top of cinnamon cream cheese layer on one slice of the bread.
Now take the other slice of bread with the cream cheese on it, cream cheese side down on top of the banana slices. We're making like a banana stuffed sandwich kinda like.
The cream cheese is like a glue it holds the banana slices in, and don't let them fall out.
Take a skillet put on medium heat with some butter thats what we're going to cook our french toast in.
Dip stuffed sandwich as usual into the egg mixture and cook until both sides are golden brown .
Serve warm with a sprinkle of french toast seasoning, syrup, and reddi whip and enjoy.
Brown Sugar Homemade Syrup
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water
1/2 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla or maple extract
Combine the sugar and water in a medium-sized saucepan.
Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
Lower the heat to medium and allow the mixture to boil for 4 minutes.
Add the butter and stir until the butter has dissolved.
Remove from the heat and add the extract if desired.
Let the syrup cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a pitcher or jar for storage.
Serve immediately or store tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to a month.
Note: You need for the syrup to boil, so it will get thicken some. It's not like thick pancake syrup, it's more like consistency of real maple syrup. It will also thicken a little more after if cools some too.
