  • RED BULL CORNERSTONE STOP 5/6 RECAP
No strangers to the Red Bull Cornerstone series, Minneapolis’ finest, Familia Skateshop hosted Stop 5 at the Familia HQ. Like every year, the action was bouncing from wall-to-wall of this epic park making it yet another exciting display of the Midwest’s upcoming talent.
From a variety of technical bangers to mind melters on the handrail, all the way to power and style on the bank-to-curb and everywhere in between, the diversity of tricks and styles that we witnessed in Minneapolis was a sight to see. No obstacle stood a chance.
There was no shortage of talent on the grounds at Familia HQ and just like years prior, locals and wanderers alike brought their best and left it all on the course. Nevertheless, every person on and off the course were all smiles.
In the Men’s division, Cole Wayka took the cake and respectfully put in work during every heat he skated. With that said, Austen Gott (2nd) and Connor Gasch (3rd) were chomping at his heels, handling business on the course all the same. All three of these guys were on fire-keep your eyes peeled for them!
The Women’s division brought great creativity to the course and as always these ladies were killing it and clearly having a great time! Lilian Gallagher was locked in all day long, landing her the top spot as well as the Best Trick winner! Lilly Goodale was a close second with Laine Oswald coming in third. All three of these ladies went out there, ripped the course and had fun heat after heat. The energy was magnetic and really set the tone for the day.
It was another heavy stop in Dubuque, Iowa as the Red Bull Cornerstone Series hit Olliewood skatepark! The cold weather didn’t seem to have an effect on the talent at Stop 6 as we saw so much incredible skating heat after heat.
Olliewood is a unique park with a lot of opportunity to get creative and there was a ton of diversity on the course from start to finish. These Midwest towns breed hungry rippers year after year and it was on full display here in Iowa.
For two consecutive stops, we found Wisconsin’s Cole Wayka take the top spot, the last stop in Minneapolis and here in Dubuque for Stop 6. Cole’s energy is contagious-he has definitely been on a roll and we’re here for it. All the same, Logan Cook put in major work all day long, respectfully landing him in 2nd. And hailing from Des Moines, Mirza Jasarovic came in at a close 3rd. Hats off to all three of these talented skaters!
No stranger to contest skating, Monica Torres took the top spot in the Women’s division. She was on fire all day, from the time she started warming up until she stepped on the podium. Jasmine Severeid gave the ladies a run for their money as well, claiming 2nd place with Paige Richey in a close 3rd!
This has been one of the best years yet as every stop leaves us more and more impressed. Big shoutout to everyone who skated, watched, cheered and enjoyed themselves. It wouldn’t be the same without everyone involved.
With 6 stops down and the finals creeping, we can’t wait to see what unfolds next. Just a reminder-the top skaters at each event will advance to the Red Bull Cornerstone Final! Congrats to all of our finalists so far.
