Skateboarding in Madagascar is not common place. In some parts of the country it's possible no one has ever skated before. The journey through the mysterious, yet glorious country continues.
The locals were stoked to check out the boy's skateboards, and what was first a search for spots, turned into an all-out flatland jam sesh with some of the barefooted boys from around town. No double sets or kinked rails on this portion of the trip, just a pure love of skateboarding, and new friends to share the stoke with. Just one of the many ways a skateboard can take you to places nothing else can.

+Jake Long i worked about a year in mozanbique and all days i tought the same think going to work: this place is astonishing beautifull.
The trees (embudeiros) as funny it would be, are unbeliveble soft/light. They're almost a sponge to keep most possible water inside of them for longest possible due the long periods without any water.
(sorry about the terrible english, im brazillian and dont even talk english formally)

I wonder if skateboards could be made out of that wood. Or is it too brittle? Maybe some Madagascans could use that resource, and jumpstart the the African skateboard industry. Of course, they'd still need more paved roads to skate on

What a great group of people to represent the skateboard culture. Incredibly respectful, intelligent and genuinely interested to truly engage with the indigenous communities they visited. Thank you Redbull, Very few take this approach.

Skating is like an art form,it's poetic. I love that all who skate are welcome,I think it's the only culture where all are welcome equally. I'm 42 been skating since I was 7 and although I can't get down like I used to I'm still out there feeling the flow,nothing's better than carving down a hill with the air in your face.

this is what i love about watching skate videos in foreign countries, it gives you the real authentic experience, a raw and grounded perspective on how a country is really like. not that tourism advertisement promotion bullshit.
