NOT scared of any fast bowling attack and he NEVER wore a helmet whilst batting. He always displayed confidence of his batting strengths. Vic Richards certainly is one of the greatest batsmen cricket has ever seen. Well done to him for punishing any bowler who tried to sledge him. In one case, after he had missed several balls, the bowler informed him “It is red, round and weighs about 5 ounces, in case you were wondering”. The next ball Vic Richards hit for 6, going so high that it went over the stadium and into a river. He then told the bowler “You know exactly what it looks like, now go and find it”. The perfect response to a sledge!
I look forward to seeing the Viv Richards museum when I visit Antigua in March next year.
