At 1:10 - With the two balls pitched at Cabrera the both near the top of the strike zone but just in due to his stance. However, due to the camera angle I can't tell if they were both just on the edge of the plate or just off the edge of the plate, but they were right on the edge of the strike zone, either just in or just out - I can't tell from this video.

so if the batter gets thrown out by the ump while at bat, is that an out or do they just bring up the next batter

At 2:37 - at this angle it's hard to tell if the ball caught the corner of the plate or not, but, to me, it look to be right at the bottom of or just below the batter's strike zone.

To me, I've watched many of these videos, 80% of the pitches should have been swung at to protect the plate. Baseball 101 with two strikes.

They are getting thrown out of the game because of arguing balls and strikes that's in the rule book they should know that.

Ayep, but their big egos means they think THEY are always right and the ump is always wrong, so they argue it instead of playing the game.

@@ernestbywater411 so how long the continuous bad calls go on before the league finally does something? and most of these ARE bad calls!

It's a dumb rule, you should be allowed to question an umpire if they are making consistently bad calls. I understand that sometimes the catcher can frame it to be a strike when it's a ball, I understand that if the ball clips ANY part of the strike zone it is, by definition, a strike, but when a blue calls a ball a strike when its no where near the plate or zone then it should be allowed to ask wtf are they thinking. Players and managers should have the ability to talk to the ump even if its only for 30 seconds per inning about bad calls

The biggest problem with the electronic rectangle you see on the side is it usually shows where the ball is when it reaches the catchers about four or more feet BEHIND the front of the plate. To know for sure where the ball crosses the plate you need 3 cameras, one above the plate, one to the side opposite the batter, and one directly in front of the pitcher and the plate. The angle of the camera behind the pitcher is about 30 degrees to the side so the line of the pitch as shown is NOT exactly right as real life. The other thing is the box doe NOT move up and down as the batter bends their legs. So when the batter squats a little his knees go down and so does his strike zone, but the box is still set for when he's standing fully upright.
In the first incident pitch shown you can the batter has his knees bent, and when I freeze frame the shot as best as I can judge to the moment it crosses the front of the plate the ball is right at the bottom of the strike zone while curving down. Thus, by the time it travels to the pitcher it's below the strike zone as shown by the box. However, all the ball has to do is to catch a part of the plate in the strike zone to be a strike, as this one does right at the front of the plate.
In the second incident as the ball comes into the plate the batter steps forward and bends both knees to get lower. At the moment the ball crosses the plate the batter's back knee is below the top of the catcher's shin guard and the bottom of the catcher's glove while the front knee is level with the middle of the catcher's glove. At the moment the catcher closes his glove on the ball the batter lifts the back leg; at that point the front knee is below the ball in the glove and the back knee is level with the ball in the glove and the rear foot is a some inches off the ground. Yet the electronic box shows the ball at the catcher in relation to the strike zone of the batter when he's standing fully upright and not with his knees bent.
Both these are typical of the errors that occur in all of the cases I've seen where the ball crosses the plate near the edge of the zone and someone wants to argue the call.

Like I’ve said almost every time I see these videos…the home plate umpire needs to be a cardboard cut out and the balls and strikes should be “called” by the electronic, rectangle gimmick we see on the TV. Simple.

The strike zone isn't a rectangle. It's a box; it has depth. Obviously, you've never heard of a "back-door slider."

I am 61 years old and I am wondering when the organist stopped playing 3 BLIND MICE. Is it against the rules? Did it go the way of the thumb on calling someone out?
