The galaraga call is absolutely the worst thing ever to happen in sports. You have a guy that just accomplished the hardest thing to do in team sports and it's blown by a bad call. There is another one from a Cubs @ Dodgers game that was left out where Silva gets ejected in July Also at 1:28, the Padres also had that very same call go against them in August of 2009. Literally the EXACT SAME scenario as that one, except the 2009 call resulted in Bud Black being ejected

You can definitely get thrown out, even if you're not up in his face. You are automatically fined if you bump an ump, so I think Wigginton was trying to get as close as possible without bumping. Don't think it worked. And yeah, it looked pretty silly.

Balk is a stupid thing in the first place. I dont get why its still a thing unless it is blatantly tricking and confusing the baserunner with how much it looks like it is going towards the plate.

@ 5:27, you can see the where the ball landed in the glove and bounced into the fielder's palm. That's a good call. Even the view from the front shows the ball landing in the glove.

You can definitely get thrown out, even if you're not up in his face. You are automatically fined if you bump an ump, so I think Wigginton was trying to get as close as possible without bumping. Don't think it worked. And yeah, it looked pretty silly.

A ground ball just needs to pass over the base fair. Wherever it lands afterwards doesn't matter. Still the wrong call but for a different reason.

13:20 Well, the 1B ump has the best view of the check swing, so I imagine that was the first thing. Even if he was hit it wasn't a swing. And then I imagine they discussed not hearing any indication of a foul tip (those are almost always called by sound not by sight, you hear the little click if it grazes the bat. Human flesh makes more of a slap/thud sound).
This is a hard video to watch without screaming for retribution.
To Jim Joyce's credit he did admit that he made a brutal call that cost that kid a perfect game, and he apologized to him face to face.
