IIRC it took a long time before Amazon was profitable. He's also a man of his word not just saying fluffy stuff he doesn't follow. Amazon Fresh is somewhat still "misunderstood" in the sense that it is unprofitable in it's current scale, but of course with deep enough pockets he can weather the storm until it one day is (potentially).

I worked at Amazon for 3.5 years and it was the highlight of my life. They do some things that are wrong and slow [they should be publishing their own branded books, for instance] but overall what Jeff says here is absolutely right. I got into the stock market to start earning passively and have been making much profits that i'm now independent of my salary. Your income is not your job, your investing is your job💯
Definitely! The worst investment you can have is cash. Cash is going to become worth less over time, but good investments are going to become worth more over time .
I know a few people in my circle who are millionaires in secret today because they invested and re-invested. They invested over 10 - 30 years and it compounded. They don't need to work no more

He’s not the richest person ever. John D Rockefeller’s net worth was 4 times greater adjusted for inflation, and some of today’s Saudi Sheiks and prince’s have immeasurable sums of money. Think 60-80 years of oil exports to the globe.
To me he seems like a very nice person; not arrogant or anything. And in fact: Amazon, in my eyes, is the only company, that really, really cares about customers satisfaction. they don`t only talk about it, they really live it. I´m a real fan and about 80% i buy, i buy at amazon !
