  • I've been wearing this new green G-Shock "Casioak" almost non stop for two weeks and I've figured out what place it will have in my collection.
    CASIO G-SHOCK GA-2110SU-3A
    I purchased this at www.mywristcheck.com with a discount.

      @@halfpastblog Well unfortunately I did not love it. 😥 It looks nice and all... but too much manipulating to set and being near sighted with contact lenses doesn't help me. Plus I got no manual with mine. Tried watching CZcams but again it's so small and the user interface sucks especially when trying to set the hands and time zone. When you select a city you cant even back up you have to toogle all the way around again.
      The lower screen is awful and just too small. Again it looks nice but I am not the type of person that wants to spend 10-15 minutes setting up his watch. I will stick with my current gshock and wait for a better alternative. Imo an all digital or all analog watch is the way to go.

      @@halfpastblog That was my issue. Didnt want to go through setting it again down the road. It did look great on my wrist and all. To make matters worse I also ordered a green DW5610Su-3 to replace my current work watch. Unfortunately the buttons were all screwed up. The adjust button is depressed almost level with the case surface. Sigh...I could probably take it apart. But it's too damn hot today..

    I mean it's got the 5 basic g shock functions, time/date, world time, timer, alarm and stop watch. I really wish they were multi-band 6 and solar but they they would also be 300 dollars. However, I think they could have had a crystal lens at this price point instead of plastic but as far as looks go i think they nailed it!

  • @storm3016
    @storm3016 Před 4 lety +2

    1. There's is no metal in the majority of G-Shocks. The stronger carbon core just replaces a thicker layer of resin, which is why this is so thin compared to other G-Shocks.
    2. You can't just swap bezels on these, they're basically forged to the case. If you put the camo version on yours it will also lose the green case.
    3. I have a 6" wrist and it fits me just fine. Better then my GW-M5610 actually.
    Glad you are enjoying the GA2110 though, I really love my yellow one as well. Cheers mate.

    • @halfpastblog
      @halfpastblog  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey. I appreciate all the info. Great stuff! A lot of g-shocks have a metal cage inside them the add structural integrity. I am certainly no expert. I've only read about it and watched videos showing the guts. I'm not brave enough to pull my 5600 apart. 😂 What I've read about the 2100 line is the carbon core composite dismisses the need for such a cage. Again, not an expert, just explaining what I've gleaned from the interweb. 👍

    This doesn't have some of the major characteristics of a field watch - high contrast white hands and indices, leather or canvas band, steel case (20 ATM WR is not a typical field watch feature) - but it is definitely military-type and a nice watch in looks and function. The Casio really is perfect for outdoors. While the Defender looks perfect for the field in terms of aesthetic, the case and crystal will get damaged during more extreme adventures. The Bulova with the cushion case looks really cool. What's the model number?

      yeah agree..vintage field watches are more looking great but you dont have any problem of its durabliity because this watches are still durable and bumping the case almost wont happen because of its size slimmer and smaller case..and decent looking..i like the ability of g-shocks but i dont like its sizes..too big specially to those who have small wrists..and specially the durability of nato straps is far more durable that this resin straps and nato strap can be changed easily..
