    Sorry I comment on every single video, but I'm home from work with depression tonight. Yesterday I was struggling not to cry my whole shift. I laid in bed most of the day then watched some of your videos and just went out and did my first boneless. I didn't get to where I could jump with my front foot while my back foot is still in the air, but it's a start. Amazing that I called in to work cuz I cant function, but then I learned a new skateboard trick instead. Thank you so much.

    I am having so much trouble with the boneless. not exactly sure why, but the main issue seems to be that my back leg always straightens out sooner than my front foot can, so the board lands on its back wheels first and its hard to balance.
    I can't seem to land with both feet simutaneously.
    guess I just have to practice the jump some more, like cavemans and such, before I try to go all out.
    sometimes a trick looks so simple and I think I should be able to do it right away, but somehow I'm not.
    so then I get frustrated and leave it at that.
    think I should start with baby steps and then I'll get it eventually.

The way u break down tricks into their specific movements and then offer ways to build muscle memory for each step reminds me so much of martial arts training systems. Keep it up! Sarah, can I ask, in your opinion, why do you recommend doing Cavemans to warm up for Boneless?
    For me, I felt like the Caveman is harder to learn than the Boneless as for the Boneless for me one foot is always on the board at all times which makes it easier for me to jump and land as I'm focusing on landing my front foot on the board, as of now I'm still struggling with Caveman but I'm slowly working on getting a Boneless while rolling.

    • @SarahParkMatott
      @SarahParkMatott  Před 2 lety

      I would recommend them for skaters who can already do them. In my experience, a lot of beginners start with the caveman, even little ones. And I strongly believe when working on jumping tricks, starting with the other jumping tricks that you can already do makes committing to it easier. That's why I tell people to warm up with hippie jumps before most tricks. Just to get the body jumping on the board.
      For me, I had a lot more trouble committing to the boneless than a caveman. But, you don't need the caveman to boneless of course. I always try to make the tutorials so you can pick and choose pieces that work for you. That's why there are so many steps. You might not need them all, but there are options 😃

    • @bartallen8121
      @bartallen8121 Před 2 lety
