At its core, the story of The Hunger Games is about the power of one person to change the world.
Set in the future remnants of the USA in a new nation called Panem, one male and one female "tribute" between the ages of 11 and 18 from each of Panem's twelve districts is forced to participate in an annual competition called the Hunger Games, which is broadcast live throughout the country for the entertainment of the Capitol's wealthy residents.
Now, bestselling author Suzanne Collins and the world of The Hunger Games return in her latest addition to the series: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
When Katniss says “that’s why I killed Cato, and he killed Thresh and Thresh killed Clove.” That was so powerful when she called them out by name to prove her point that when Snow became president he used these kids as pawns in his games all these years. I have chills.
Truly so powerful!!
But I only just realized that the movies made a mistake here. Cato killed Thresh in the books, but in the movies he was attacked by the mutts. Never realized it until now.
@@petersampel2180I’m reading the books and had to look up this scene to see if they included this too! It’s so bizarre to me that they changed Thresh’s ending in the movie
Every time she says this it makes me think of Rue. They did her so dirty in this movie.💐👧🏿🗡️💐🫡🌹👧🏻🔥🏹
@@PeetasSunsetOrangeHow did they do Rue dirty..?
@@JvideowatcherProbably because they changed director after the first movie. But yeah, it's sloppy.
Is no one talking about how Haymitch threw the note away when Katniss didn't want to say anything on it 😂
Just the kinda thing he’d do
You know this is something I have to give Jennifer Lawrence and the movies credit for. In the books they mention how Katniss is shocked by the effect she and the Mockingjay have on people but you do not really feel it until you see scenes like this when she is utterly confounded at how people react to her and then capitalizes on it.
you " give " it to Lawrence now ,,? watching everything recommended with the release of the ballad more likely

If Snow of all people singled me out for a question before drinking I would NOT drink that.
The guy already drank before Snow did that
Theyd still kill you afterwards anyway
Fr like “the rebels are still marching on so what are we celebrating for”
I just wonder if the minister would have pleased Snow with the answer, Snow would have been like "shit uuuh, okay we need a fucking doctor real fucking fast"
There’s a theory that the guy that wanted to shoot Katniss is Clove’s Dad
Who’s Clove?

I’m just imagining the guy from 2 like years later telling his grandkids about actually meeting the Mockingjay. That and it’s interesting to think of how Katniss would be talked about and put into history.
I didnt read the books (but there isnt a sequel either). Isnt Katniss maybe hated by the public for killing Alma Coin?
@@cedis.factionin the books katniss had a trial held and she won the case. it was still kinda iffy for her to be out in public tho so they kinda just sent her and haymitch back to district 12 to keep any possible tension on the downlow

president coin was fine if katniss were to die out in the districts during all this, that way she’d become a martyr and an even better use for the rebellion

District 2 was Snow’s powerful pawn to the capital.
What the Capital was going through was basically Berlin in 1945, only Hitler still thought victory was possible
And the rebels committing war crimes against innocent Capitol children just like the Soviets did to any German woman or child they came across.
Suzanne Collins definitely musta studied her war history
Even though we’ll never truly know, I could imagine Hitler going out like Snow in terms of not 100% expecting a win at a certain point but needing to save face like here - after all if tides did turn it’d look really bad to have the leader of a nation go “Lol thought that was it for a sec” when their whole selling point is absolute ability to stop out all opposition.
@@joewhitehead3 iirc she did! and her father i think was a vet and fought in vietnam and that's a lot of what inspired thg, and also seeing how her father was after the war too. that's how she got katniss' ptsd so accurate. she saw what it did to people and supposedly constantly heard war stories from her father.

Fans really need The Hunger Games TV series or video game - the movies leave out so many important characters and scenes from the books.
Movies still turned out great though
Would a shooter or battle royale work better for this genre?
they left stuff out but it’s a lot more accurate than other adaptations. Like i’m listening to it now and watching these clips and it’s all so accurate. If anything it’s missing some stuff, probs for time, but most of it is accurate esp after the first movie
Any game would remove the intended meaning from the books and movies. Making a game out of these movies is exactly the point Suzanne Collins makes.
So the Capitol admitted defeat in the war at this point. And instead of defending their mountain borders they instead want to allow the rebels in so they can make a memorable display of the potential horrific deaths by the game makers
Basically the Capitol loved showing what they’re capable of if you defy them
I mean they had all those pods which were to be used for the 76th Hunger Games, and the Capital was woefully underprepared for the rebels so why not make a spectacle of it?
The title makes it sound like Katniss is joining Super Smash Bros.
How epic would that be though-
@@chaoticallygaming "Peeetaah!"
omg it does 😂 the only fighting game where she would join would probably be multiversus if not smash bros but katniss joining a fighting game such as smash bros and multiversus would be cool either way
The scene with snow and his cabinet is like that scene in downfall or man in the high Castle
Is man in the high castle any good?
That scene at the table hits differently after the Ballad Of Songbirds & Snakes
With the poisonings? Yeah, it fits.

No. A different guy
What do you all think the capitol would do to the districts if they lost this rebellion?
They can’t level and destroy all the districts. The Capitol needs to keep the districts subjugated in order for the Capitol to survive. The Capitol like the brain but, the districts are the skin, blood, organs etc.
@@misssincere5762they did destroy 12 though so a few things they feel they can do without and they wouldn’t be afraid of damage. And I could imagine then becoming a lot more harsh to the survivors as well

Помылась. Верно.
3:05 Thought in the movies that was the mutts…🤔
I believe the copied this line from the book even tho it doesnt adds uo to the film
Gary Ross was the director of the first movie and took a few liberties with the source material that I’m guessing Francis Lawrence wanted to undo. Like in the first movie, the symbolism and backstory to the pin is gone. It’s just some random pin she saw in the hob that she initially gave to Prim.
They mess him up good but she gives him a merci killing
@@arthurbriand2175 I’m talking about Thresh
Cato technically died by Mutts, or would have. But Katniss shot him in the hand, Peeta pushed him down, and Katniss killed him out of mercy.
Anyone catch the faulty history here? In the books Cato kills Thresh. In the film the mutts kill Thresh. But in this scene Katniss says Cato killed Thresh. Inconsisitancy.
It’s because it’s a different director and they realised the mistake of the first movie so said this to fix it, I think they’re trying to imply that it was Cato who killed thresh and not the mutt like they thought

@@onism8906movie sure but realistically for most people in that real situation nah
@@onism8906I think they mean she was exuding main character energy despite being a pawn and having very little to zero control over her life or the movement. Though technically she IS the main character of the film and books (as we only get her POV), there are other people at play. And if you think about it, if you remove her from the equation, someone else could have taken her place, unlike for example, Harry Potter who is the “chosen one”, Katniss is just an ordinary girl that experienced unfortunate circumstances that led to the movement. But any other person in her world could have taken her place unlike Harry Potter who was needed in order to defeat Voldie.
@@imbatgirlcant say i agree with this considering it was said multiple times they had waited 75 years for this opportunity (her)
@@imbatgirlShe's no Chosen One, but it's not like what happened had nothing to do with her as a person. She made choices in the Games that inspired others with their courage and compassion. The books also heavily hint that she's very charismatic.
So stupid. Her exposing herself puts so many more people protecting her at risk. I know it’s fiction but even fiction needs to follow common sense logic or it pulls you out of the story.
Sometimes taking risks can be effective. Besides, her outfit was bulletproof
Katniss is a kid mind you, a 16 year old girl who never asked for this and is being manipulated. God forbid she wants to help and not kill people
@@chanbang378I’m glad we agree.
On what fucking planet to people have common sense and logical actions? This is the most realistic scene in the entire movie for the very reason you hate it. This is exactly what a 16 yr old girl would do, and exactly how at least 1 adult in that crowd would react.
