Might be worth running a booster plug, judging by the colour of the header I would say it is running extremely lean and as a result very hot, this is how they set them up for strict emissions. I had the same on my 2020 model and fitted one, it has much better throttle response and the header has zero colour change.
Its good looking though....just look at the after market, exhaust copy of R1, zx10r, z900 etc I mean the litre class bikes ,, they paint like this to look cool.🤣.
Hi there, fellow Himalayan rider! My bike only had stalled on cold starting. Once it warmed up, it was fine. I installed a booster plug from the beginning, and it didn't totally fix the stalling, but now, after 1800 miles, it only stalled once in a while on cold starts. I've only adjusted the tps to .57, I have not adjusted the idle screw and the engine idle speed is around 1200 when hot. I've heard that getting rid of the purge valve and charcoal cannister also helps the bike run better. That will be my next fix.
I was watching the vid and thought, I wonder if his 2021 stalls like mine. At its worst, it was stalling every few seconds. I adjusted the TPS in an effort to fix it. I found it at 0.62v and bumped it up to 0.68v. Then brought the bike to the dealership for an ECU map update which only made things worse. Suddenly the idle was no longer a steady 1,300rpm but was now wandering between 1,100 to 1,400 and climbing to 1,800 when hot. The ECU update seemed to especially effect the idle circuit. The stalling got worse, about every few seconds at idle. I stopped riding it and concentrated all my effort on fixing it. I then tried to adjust the idle, and the idle screw no longer responded. So I readjusted the TPS voltage down to 0.58v which simulated the throttle plate being more closed and reducing fuel. Suddenly the idle became more stable, but it was still stalling every few seconds. I checked the idle screw and it was now functioning again, so I tried increasing the idle speed and the stalling got worse, then I dropped the idle back to 1,000 rpm and it stopped stalling. So the idle screw would only let me reduce the idle. This is where the bike was when I bought it new. It was set to 1,000 rpm and it did not stall. I have ridden the bike for several weeks and it only stalled once when cold which is fine. It appears that when the TPS was set too high and the mapping was unable to latch onto, and control the Throttle plate sensor signal. It seems that the voltage was indicating that the throttle plate was too open for the ECU and there was a struggle back and forth trying to find the correct mixture. Thus the unstable idle. The stalling seems to have been caused by the system losing control over the proper fuel mixture. I just thought I would share my grueling experience in case it might be any help. I am in Colombia South America, and I am now waiting for the FuelX Pro unit to come in from the US. I was told by many people, that it will fix the lean mapping caused by the Euro5 mandate, cool the engine and stop the stalling. We will see if it likes the present map configuration, which looks like from the number on the ECU, (3001), that it is the Scram map. I spoke to RE USA and they did not recommend that firmware for my bike. So, back to the dealership and we will go to the 3003 firmware for the 2003 model Himmy. I think buying the V-Strom I was looking at, would have been a lot easier.
I have the exact same bike. I was able to cure the cold start by adjusting the TPS to .67V. Takes 5 minutes to adjust and starts and keeps running on the first button press.
Nice bike, but ive always wondered why adv riders put the gas in front of them. Other than a good place to mount, looks dangerous if u lay the bike down, u would be covered in gasoline.

You've got creative ideas for a big dummy. I wanna see how you gonna pull off 'installing' the tool tube tastefully. I have seen other videos where the bike owners used zip ties. (They're tacky looking Gentlemen!) Can't wait to see how Big Dummy would do it . .
OH, AS AN UPGRADE- TAKE OFF THAT LOWER FRONT FENDER, WHY? GET A ROCK OR MUD IN BETWEEN THE TIRE AND FENDER AND YOU ARE HEADED FOR A ROLL-OVER! MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE FENDER HOLDER BACK ON TO SUPPORT THE FORKS, AND IT LOOKS BETTER!! ROAD RUNNER
I like the mods, but I don't get the need for the fog lights/ ditch lights on adventure bikes. They seem like they would add quite a bit of drag and perhaps be a liability for the electrical system (parasitic draw...).
Fog lamps are certainly not needed. I installed them on both of my bikes for better visibility at night and in Southern California I frequently split lanes. We are better seen by those additional lights. Most cars see the lights and move away to allow extra room when they are able. My lamps are LED and draw minimal power. I have had them on one bike for nearly 11 years and the other for nearly 9 years. I can switch them off as needed.
What a beautiful machine. The double-take mirrors change the look of the bike for the better, in my opinion.

I installed an NGK iridium spark plug as well as a fuel inrichner booster plug.

What would a FE bike need a choke?
It is just a manual iac valve. Idle air control valves are usually controlled by the computer. Himalayan uses a manual one.
