    I have a ball with mine. I have it down to 398lbs wet. Even that small loss in weight made a huge difference. Sadly the flow of traffic here is 80+ mph so when on the RE you have to really pay attention. The brakes can be fixed with a Harley Davidson 750 caliper, one of the best upgrades I’ve made. I can force the ABS to function now.

    Got my Himalayan couple months ago and exactly what I expected and that was easy on road capable of trails off road. Love the broad smooth torque and mine still will accelerate from 70 up overpasses even with my heavy tush on it (north of 350) and that is with the Panniers. Around town it ain’t fast but stupid fun. Mine got 65 MPG first check and later got 60 MPG cause I spent more time north of 50… at 45-50 should probably see 70ish… Looking at MOTOZ Tractionator GPS (requires fitting 130-80/17 rear not the 120-90/17 but those are supposed to last a long time (on and off road) and have much better traction than stock.

    I put the Bridgestone Battlaxe tyres on my classic 350 signals. Excellent! Also, a UK gallon is more than a US gallon so be aware of this when working out mpg. 👍

    Well versed video ABUSA! I have been had the bug for a Hima since I first saw one. Will I ever get one? I don't know. But I'll always have that dream. I would love one to ride the dirt, gravel and service roads up in the mountains where I live. Quiet is good. Although being quiet on pavement, not so much. I have thought about the Scram and putting off road tires on it and giving it a go. At my age, I gotta take it easy more so than you young guns. Loved your honest review, a great video ABUSA! Ride and stay safe!

    As you say, it is what it is, don't expect anything more out of it. For me, I'd rather have something larger for all kinds of riding. I'm on a tour bike and don't want to downgrade.
    IMPORTANT!! When you mentioned condensation in the gauge, check that out!! You could have water buildup in the gauge housing that will ruin the circuit board. Open it up and see. If needed, drill a small hole in the bottom of the housing to let water drain out. I've had this happen on an instrument cluster on other outdoor equipment. Don't let it go until later please.

    I have always thought of the Royal Enfield Himalayan to be like a rally car, not great for off-road, and not great on road, but it can do both equally well. As for the air filter upgrade, I can only suggest air filters I have used. K&N, DNA, BMA, OEM, and BikeMaster are all good, but then again, there are probably better filters for the money out there.
    The best part about a light or middleweight motorcycle, is that it is easier to maneuver on, or off road.
    Take care, ride safe.

    I recently outfitted my '21 Himmy with Dunlop D605 tires, thinking it would help it off road. In MI, most of the two tracks have sections of deep sand, and twice I almost crashed, even standing and leaning back (front end wobble), and the second time it was going over but I saved it with my left leg, but it tweaked my right wrist. I'm 61 and I can say that Himmy on a sandy two track is the worst experience I've ever had riding a motorcycle (started in 1970). I raced motocross back in the day and rode those MX bikes (80 to 125cc) on all types of trails and two tracks at very high speeds with no issues. I've come to the conclusion that the Himmy is fine as long as the ground is fairly firm (fine on gravel roads). That being the case, I may be looking for something with more power and better road manners (maybe an RE Super Meteor?). I did test the new KLR650S and it has considerably more juice than the Himmy, and it was more flickable. I'll stay away from sandy two tracks unless I get a dedicated dirt bike.

    She's a keeper. Im not a fan of all the modifications as the other utubers have installed on their Himalayan's.
    I would have bought a bigger fancier ride, IF i wanted all the whistles and bells.
    Front bags is all I need besides stock.
    That lake blue is Fat with your detailing.
    I may have the little fairing tinted.
    I was searching for one pannier rack setup and pannier for the drivers side only.
    Enfield leaves a ear to ear Grin!
    👍

    Premium gas is for engines with advanced timing as it has a slower burn rate. Molecularly, if memory serves, is ~12 hydrocarbons long. Regular is ~8. Use regular to avoid the cat problems and harder wear on the engine.

    The fuel gauges on these seem to be all the same. It drops to "reserve" after 2 to 2.5 gallons used, but you have 1.5 to 2 gallons still in there. I had a panic attack first time the gauge plunged to empty on me :-).
    My opinion of the bike mirrors yours, amigo.

  • @mysterybiker1717
    @mysterybiker1717 Před 11 měsíci +1

    Sintered front and rear pads fixes poor brakes. Tec cam and 16T front sprocket allows you to cruise 70-75mph (real gps speed, circa 75-80mph on speedo). SAS seats, north wales, ships worldwide will take your seat and turn it into something amazing, miles better than seat concepts. Be careful with air filter and exhaust upgrade as 2023 runs very lean for emissions and no fuel control box available yet for that model (fuel injection was upgraded). City vision headlamp bulb better than led, headlamp is amazing. Dash fogging on cold mornings fix on youtube with rubber seal and dessicant gel pack.

    Jake here, I enjoyed your review. Been contemplating a Himalayan purchase but have not ridden one yet. I’m 6’1” height but, most of my height is in my torso as I need tall shirt sizing. Same for jackets, coats. Am wondering how well this model (Himalayan) will fit me. How is the leg room with the stock seat? Not that anyone asked, my current motorcycle is a 2021 Spyder RTLimited (trike). I was riding a GS airhead but dropped it one too many times. Yes!,itsa tallbike and therein lies the trouble this Oldboy (67 years young on the 14th of November). Anywho, as much as I’ve enjoyed my Spyder, I’m getting antsy to get back on 2 wheels, on a proper ADV motorcycle. The 2023 Himalayan (Royal Enfield) looks to be the shizzle. Again, thank you for your straightforward review, much appreciated!

      I’m in north central Fla. between Gainesville & Ocala. I went to the corporate website and see that there’s a BMW dealer in Jacksonville (about 2hours one way) I could make a day trip there and back to check them out. That said, I I’d a search for “2023 Royal Enfield Himalaya”! and found a 22’ Himalaya (used) for sale at the Gainesville RideNow Dealership, which is approximately 30 minutes one way from me but, my biggest problem doing any type of demo on one is the fact I broke the 3rd metatarsal in my left foot, subsequently I’m wearing a walking boot on my left foot which currently negates any demo on a foot gear shift motorcycle. The good news is I have no trouble riding my Can Am Spyder RTL since it utilizes a paddle shifter on the left handlebar. If the used 2021 Himalaya is still available at the Gainesville RideNow when the walking boot comes off, I’ll ride up there and take it for a spin. I know for a fact that dealer will let me ride it. I’ve gone out on used motorcycles the Ocala RudeNiw has had for sale in the past. All that said I’m more interested in getting a 2023 vs. a 2021 due to the suspension upgrades the 2023 supposedly has over earlier models. I’ve made several trips in 2023 to J-actionville so I would have no problem visiting the Jacksonville Royal Enfield/BMW dealership

    • @ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA
      @ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA  Před 8 měsíci

      @@shakin_jakewilson5247 maybe go and sit on it now in the boot and see how it feels then you will at least know how that part feels and if it works, you know when the boot comes off,
      himmy it is ! if it doesn't fit you, you can use the down time to keep researching!

    • @shakin_jakewilson5247
      @shakin_jakewilson5247 Před 8 měsíci

      Hey Bruh!, if I sit on a Himmy I’m going to ride it broken foot or not. Actually, my fractured foot is healing nicely. That said I still wear the walking boot from the moment I put both feet on the ground until I remove the boot before a bath then bed. My Podiatrist has not sanctioned me to start wearing the next phase in medical footwear yet, that might come next appointment in 3 weeks. I don’t have pain in my foot any longer so that’s a good sign. Trust me, I want to take a Himalayan out for a ride but I don’t think it wise unless I get the okay from the doctor who is supervising my recovery

    • @shakin_jakewilson5247
      @shakin_jakewilson5247 Před 8 měsíci +1

      I wanted to mention that if my right foot was the foot with the fracture (that’s currently healing nicely) I wouldn’t hesitate to ride this bike doing a demo ride,, why?, the problem with the left foot having the 3rd metatarsal fracture is- the exact site of the fracture on that bone is right where the shift lever would contact my boot/foot, the simple act of shifting with this area of the fracture could very well aggravate the fracture whereas if the fracture were in the right, I would have no problem using that foot for the rear break. You have no idea how bad I want to take a Himalayan out for a ride and I would (at the risk of repeating myself) had the fracture occurred on my right foot. I phoned the Gainesville dealer (RideNow), they still have the used Himalayan in stock and welcome me to come take it for a ride. They’re only 30 minutes away from me (Ayi Carumba!). Temptation is killing me

    As long as you accept Royal Enfields are built for an easy ride, simple maintenance and rural or dirt roads first and for most .
    If they were all junk like non owners claim, they would not be out selling Triumph and Harley combined.
    Last year a 39% growth in sales topping a million total units .
    Thats does not happen if you make trash.

    Really only 65mph? I've seen these hit 75 80 with ease. Atleast the new Scram 411's can reach that without much fuss. but then again the Scram 411's are lighter.
