Note: In the video, we mention that 1440p is also known as 2K. That is incorrect, 2K resolution is 2048x1080 and not 2560x1440 (1440p). Sorry for the confusion that this may have caused, and thanks to OrcCorp for letting us know.
Do you want to buy the Xbox Series X console or should you go for the cheaper Xbox Series S instead? What are the differences and will you notice them?
Here's the ultimate guide to help you choose. We will get into the hardware, performance and who the Xbox Series S is intended for. We will also compare the Xbox Series S to the PS5 Digital Edition.

The video is so bias against the Series S. They don't even mention games will take up less space on the S than on the PS5 digital and you can download parts of a game to help with space. Once you've factored this in, the difference in space really isn't significant.
Perhaps, PS also has the option to download parts of games, it will be upto individual game devs to implement this though.
@@MrShokzZ so does Xbox
@@reece3134 yeh he said xbox can do it in comparison to ps5 so had to point out that ps also has that option
Not to mention the PS5 has been confirmed to only have a little over 600GB of storage compared to the 800GB+ on the Series X
Don't worry though. The Series S will outsell all the others.
i'm gettin the series S only cause it's cheap and small and I game on a gaming monitor so graphics ain't all that much too me
That doesnt make sense because u can’t improve graphics on a monitor lmao u can only have faster refresh rate and better res
@@clippt5598 what about it doesn't make sense? I don't really care for graphics. If I was getting the series X then I'd consider upgrading my monitor to Hdmi 2.1 but in this case i'm not.. so i'm sticking with same monitor I use, and if I ever to randomly upgrade my monitor then that'll be great cause the series S could support. if your monitor is regular Hdmi and you have a series X or S then you aren't really getting the full Series X or S experience. thats why it's highly recommended to get a tv or monitor that supports 4K or HDMI 2.1

Xbox 360 was the most memorable console out of the entire Xbox series.
As for someone who doesn’t own a 4K tv as of yet, and has the option to upgrade from an Xbox One S to a console 4 times as powerful for $379 Canadian, I definitely can’t turn down the Series S.
It is not 4 times because it is RDNA2... it is more like 6 times more powerful because RDNA2 is 50% more efficient. Furthermore, the XSS' CPU is way better than the Xbox one S'.
@Matt same cpu as series x, and 10gb of ddr6 ram, one x has 12 gb of ddr5 ram, but ddr6 is around % 50 more powerful than ddr5
Evan Mills do u plan on getting the series x or a new Xbox later?
@@mrtentacle9049 I am aiming for the new Xbox Series S. It’s the cheaper of the two consoles but it’s a steal of a deal for the performance you’re getting out of it.
Xbox Series S for me because if you think about it, it's a great console for £250/$300, with 1440p resolution and up to 4k upscaling for some games and it still will do 60fps and 120fps for games, and I don't have the full money for the Xbox Series X, lol

They say the Xbox Series S is gonna be significantly less powerful than the Xbox Series X, but let's be honest here... playing games at 1440p at 60fps, and up to 120fps, and the fact that you can upscale the resolution up to 4K is amazing. It's a great move from Microsoft I think, and they're more budget friendly than their counter part Sony.
I agree. I’m confused on what I should do. I mainly play NBA 2k and cod. And have a 1080p gaming monitor and 4K tv in my living room. I don’t know which one to get lol

I’m getting the series S for the first year or two and then trading it in for Xbox series x or a newer console down the line.
Yeee fucking druga
Is Series S worth getting if I already own the One X and I don’t like the design of series X or am I better keeping one x and waiting for the Next Xbox upgrade when it gets released in future. I’ve preordered Series S on Amazon but I’m thinking of cancelling it. Just need honest advice.
The Series S is worth buying if you have the Xbox One X because more games will come out on the series S than the Xbox One because the Xbox One will soon be a last generation console. The Series X will also have better graphics and faster load times. So yes, the Series S is worth the upgrade from an Xbox One X. However, the Xbox series S is digital only so you can’t play disc’s on it. So the Xbox Series S is a worthy upgrade unless you don’t like digital games.
@@thegreatestconfession4006 will put me at disadvantage using the series s against someone with an x in cod or FPS games?

They should have made the series S display at 1080p max. With that they could lock in 60fps on every game. Also most tv's are ether HD, full HD or 4k, so to play at 1440p you need a 4k tv anyway.
1440 entices both 1080p and 4K tv owners. Also a lot of people have 1440p gaming monitors. This console is made for everyone.
@@oilerguy5494 good point.
Looks good on 4K!
I usually like gaming scan and I still upvoted the video,
The storage comparison didn't talk about how you can still use a standard USB external drive to store games and then just transfer to the internal Seagate SSD when you want to actively play them, which is quicker than download and very likely the most cost effective solution for all the next gen consoles.
It all depends on how each individual is using their storage, I think 1tb, 800gb, 600gb, everyone will eventually need more storage tho.
X cloud is another interesting aspect that could really reduce the need to store games on the SSD
I’m looking forward to buying the series X and using my 2TB sea gate hard drive to store and transfer games 👌🏽
i never owned an xbox console before, only playstation and nintendo consoles. a friend of mine has the xbox one s, its the only console he has. im considering getting the series S since its cheaper and has backwards compatibility with the games my friend plays. and if i do choose to play a next gen game i have it as the option too. i dont mind the smaller storage space since i wont be buying alot of games since im not familiar with xbox titles
I can break it down more simpler . Series S is great as long as you have good wifi in your home because it is digital . Now series X is a little better because you can buy games & re sell them when you're done with it & if playing a game tht isn't online & your wifi isn't so good you'll be ok .I'm not saying anything bad about the S ; I say if you wanna get the S go for it ! But if you are all about graphics then get the X .
I wish they would make it so we can use these consoles as computers.
Like installing windows on them once they meet the end of the console lifespans.
That would be so sick if you could turn the x into a gaming pc
Come from ps4, I am getting a Xbox series s
How is it
I'm getting the series s because I don't really care about 4k gaming on console all that much, and nowadays you really don't need a disc drive.
I’m going with series X since I still have discs 😂
Gotta buy the x and a new tv this black Friday. I have 4k but no hdr.
Get the s for a second console with game pass and Ps5 as your main
The precisely what I am doing. S pre ordered with gamepass to start off next gen then once the ps5 has built up its library and games are avaliable at a more affordable price than $70 such as a ps5 hits selection then I'll be catching up on that ps greatness
Exactly what I was doing
I will be using my 1080 75Hz monitor, so the question I have on my mind is whether I will be able to play every single game at 1080p 60fps. I don’t want all that shiny 4Ks and 120FPSs. All I want is to play the games at god damn 60FPS.

Xbox Series x for me. I have not a 4K TV for now but I need a console with a disc drive. The XSS is a good deal: full RDNA2, great CPU, SSD, Velocity architecture techs all of this for less than 300€/$. But I need a disc drive. 😇
Since the only game I play is gears and cod then I’ll get the S, plus my monitor ain’t no 4k but it runs at 120 FPS without a problem

Series s is the best deal in console gaming right now
I’m getting the series X because it’s the best...
I don’t even need the disc drive. I just want the console With the graphics, FPS, storage etc.. not to mention I can find discs for bargains in the future.
Hmm its a pretty hard choice, i would go for s but the storage is pretty small especially for me that i will play a hella of games so i will go for x, i don't own a 4k tv but if you will buy an external 1 TB storage you will be pretty nearby of x price so yea... i will buy series x

You can barely notice a difference honestly
The S versions are great because you can get BOTH the Sony and the Xbox consoles. Instead of spending 1k for both.
Series S hasn't been showcased.
This is biased towards the Series S. So ima keep it simple. The frame rate on both consoles will be the same, so the X and S will play games at 120fps when available. Of course if its optimized like Cold War, Gears 5. Both have ray tracing and SSD. The only thing your losing on the Series S is resolution. I recommend looking at the Xbox video on how the Series S performs and works
Hmm idk bro
I doubt most games will run at 60 gamedevs want to push graphics to the limit so some games will run at 30 1440p and 900p 60 on the s
Plus if you consider how demanding games get over time well it's going to be 900p most of the time with upscaling or something but who knows let's wait until official reviews come up

Good video, thanks! 👌😁 but, ENTER RANT:
NO! OMG THIS AGAIN! 1440p IS NOT 2K! 2K means resolution close to 2000 horizontal pixels. 1440p is 2560x1440 pixels, so it's closer to 2.5K than 2K. Full HD, as in 1920x1080, is closest standard resolution in gaming to 2K, but you do not call that 2K either. There is no 2K resolution in gaming! Why is it so hard for even professionals to understand this? 2k resolution is cinema resolution (2048x1080 pixels). Why is this 2K = 1440p ideology invation happening in professional gaming circles nowadays? My head hurts 😣 Everyone seems to get this wrong.
