Wonderful discussion! I broke a few cheap boxes of WB premiere and the first couple expansions several years ago since it was so cheap. Looks like a fun game. I really enjoy that 1st edition card design, to me it’s as iconic as the SWCCG card design. Decipher knew how to make pretty cards. I hope you guys make more vids diving into ST CCG

I'm mostly a TNG and TOS Trekkie, and I have been collecting them throughout the years. I am still learning how to play the expansions since I originally started with the premier first edition. I like collecting them over time because I am a Trekkie, it's super customizable and a huge universe, and because it is an opportunity to go deep without screen time. I will continue to collect these, learn how to play the expansions over years to come, and still know I have more to master.

Thanks for making this video. I really appreciate the history and am happy there is a whole community out there that collects and plays with these cards.

Love both editions of the game, but I wanted to mention that one of the major reasons for the reboot in 2E is the length of time the seed phase was taking at the beginning of each match. I’ve seen seed phases go 30 minutes just to get to the actual gameplay and 2E solved that problem as well. I primarily collect 2E now because I enjoy being able to just shuffle up and play.

Trek TCG is the game I began with. Met my best friend learning that game.
Trek is another game that would greatly benefit from a GEMPifying. Like LotR and SWCCG there is a lot to keep track of. Decipher loved their complex board states (a reason I frequently refer to swccg as a Chess of TCGs). Lackey is nice but it's hard to remember everything, like SWCCG and LotR.
I have zero xp in gemp, but would love to help if someone who does wants to start that project.
As an aside, WWE Raw Deal I think fits into that too. I think Barron (it's designer) was heavily inspired by the lengthy game text boxes of Decipher games. It also needs that, especially with its PC putting out some great stuff too.

Nice video - I collected it because I love the Trek shows/movies and I played swccg so I was aware of deciphers trek cards and collected my favorite characters and ships - I tried a game back in the day it didn't hit me like swccg did but I still love the trek cards nevertheless

the star trek ccg 1e card design is visually crisp and fantastic compared to many card games, and is vastly superior to the 2nd edition. Really don't know what happened there.

I like the Star Trek ccg but i don't own it. What i didn't liked is the non direct confrontation like in the swccg. I rather liked middle earth more than star trek. Bu i think since the borg or ds9 the star trek ccg has become much better.

It would be nice to hear how the game works in more detail
