Star Wars Unlimited May Market - What Is Going On With Prices???
- #10 doesn't make sense as a 'top card' as a lot of players don't actively use Incidents in decks. - The Enterprise-E is a better card than the Enterprise-D when it comes to gameplay. - Virtual cards shouldn't be in the top ten, as a lot of players don't use them at all.
Jayman: #1 by saying people dont use incidents in decks makes no sense. In the end of Decipher era, most gameplay engines were Incidents. So tell us you never played by telling us you never played. #2 yes, the Enterprise-E is a superior ship, but its also a different Federation faction which described in the first slide is noted. So EE =/= TNG #3 there are people all over the world that play with virtual cards, so I know you have some made up ratio in your head, but fact is, people play with and without. Why the lists will contain BOTH. Everyone has different opinions and thats fine, but please dont think your opinion on virtual cards are correct. Thanks for watching!
Another great video. Thank you for the content!
Woot!! James T. Kirk clearly the best Federation and overall best card in the game. Itâs also the most valuable card in the entire game as well. Highly recommend picking up this card now before the market price drastically increases in the future đ
Oh goodie! Letâs see how many of the ten I have. Oh, Star Trek CC versions, ⊠. Never mind. (And the answer is an equally dissapointing 1/10).
Understand the virtual card challenges⊠all of them will have virtual cards. Not out shilling for the CC, it comes down to more who can speak knowledgeable about these formats and ultimately you have to pick to include or not include virtual stuff.
You do realize Barry that if you watched the video, 5 out of the 10 cards are Decipher era cards...
@@derrickmarsh50 Alright so 1/5 then. What was the Errata change to the Kirk by the way?
Another great video! Love the channel!
Thanks man! Appreciate the kind words!
Completely stumbled across this video. Still have my cards from the 90âs, didnât realize there was still a community for the game. How can get involved? Is there a discord or something?
Welcome! I also stumbled across my cards four years back and here I am, enjoying this game immensely. A few resources: Discord: discord.gg/UFqRex9B Facebook: thereâs several big groups if thatâs your cup of tea Players committee website (they make virtual cards, have tons of resources and thereâs some old school forums): www.starwarsccg.org/ Play online for free: gemp.starwarsccg.org/gemp-swccg/ Thereâs also groups on Reddit and slack but Iâve found the discord to be the best place to hang.
Star Wars Unlimited is definitely impacting this market. The game is fantastic and actively being produced. Prices are within budgets, etc.
This is a good point. At the end of the day, a living product is living and supported and a dead one is⊠not and has guys like me making videos đ
So what is the best place to sell a huge collection of SWCCG? Including all complete sets all AIs, multiple URs?
eBay is always a good option. Thereâs also a pretty robust buy/sell community on Facebook. If you search for Star Wars ccg, thereâs a few large groups that exist for that purpose. If youâre selling not on eBay, Iâd discount prices 20% off these spreadsheets for the best luck finding buyers. Happy sales.
Well done as usual guys thank you very much!
the 6 Destiny UR are worth more cause they have 6 destiny, they are just better. Other vaders see play, the UR vader is good but he isn't the main one people play
Totally agree. Although the slightly nerfed Pc version of both kind of fill that role playing. Lord Vader and Mara Jade are both still pretty legit cards that see plenty of play as well, arguably more versatile than the Emperor which sees play in like two decks.
@@boardmatt mara being a spy is big for sure. But you still only need 1. You run 4 luke cause like...boom 6 destiny.

Hello I have a question if you have time to answer: I have a few of the Special Edition starter decks (both light and dark side) - It says there are fixed cards in there, and also some random cards, are those random cards worth chasing after? What rarities does it include etc. - Any info you know would be helpful, thanks!!
Hello! Special Edition Starter Decks contain 22 fixed cards (only available in starter decks), 22 random commons, 14 random uncommons, and 2 random rares. So, yes, it is possible to pull good Special Edition cards from these. That said, in general, it remains the case that sealed product is worth more than opened product, unless you were to get very lucky and pull a few very good cards and they grade very highly, for instance.
@@lukefritz64 Thanks for the reply, a friend is saying I could possibly grade those cards too. Are graded special edition cards sought after at all?
Great job as usual. Thanks for your dedication and efforts doing this. Overall the economy/inflation/workforce automation is taking a toll on purchasing power and discretionary spending for SWCCG . The combined increase of sellers (out of financial need) with decrease in people with discretionary spending power will continue to drive values down for the near future imho. I have found that it's getting harder to find specific cards coming up in ebay listings, especially the popular cards that presumably have the highest demand.
You know on the eBay search you can type -unlimited in your search and it will exclude all listings with Unlimited in the title?
Thanks guys I really like these -I have gotten a few of the Premiere Ltd starters recently just because I wanted some better quality common/uncom. for my Pre. set and generally you can buy them for less then 2 boosters which have less cards in them - also they tend to get less wear over time due to the packaging
Here's the link to the Sealed and Graded slides we went through, if anyone wants to look at them in depth: docs.google.com/presentation/d/143klx8vy98h-Hzwo-qp96orKT358nYb2v279HLAe52k/edit?usp=sharing
Battle Order says: You may initiate a battle for Free. He does not. At first battle you have 3power for TIE fighter + 2 for Pilot (it says in text: "Add 2 to Power of anything he pilots") plus 3 for Destiny = 8.
So, I have a signed Mara Jade from ComicCon 2000. What do you think I could get for it?
Is it it the Enhanced Jabba's Palace Mara Jade? Oversized? Foil? Graded? Assuming it is not graded, EJP, the last ones sold for $39 (February 18, 2024) and $26 (July 2, 2023).
@@lukefritz64 Yeah, it's EJP.
I love Shannon but she is a prolific signer and she is still signing so her signature doesn't add much for value
Appreciate the video and information. Content like this, the work and research everyone puts in will hopefully help carry the game for years. Helping it grow and thrive.
Great data! I think Ref 3 set price is actually reflective of decline in sales price for some of the key singles in it. For instance, force push and they will never leave this city are both selling for about half of what they were early last year and late 2022. So I think you can attribute most of the decline in Ref 3 price almost entirely to the lost value in those two cards alone.
Great stuff appreciate the insight
Adding "-swu" to ebay searches really helps filter out the Unlimited results. Hopefully, we see even more use of that tag in the future!
Really want to get back into this game.
Mark is 100% right, the economy is crud and people are not doing well.
Itâs a goofy economic time where the economy is good on paper but a loaf of bread is like $7.
â@@boardmatt At my local Walmart, a box of 13 donuts from their bakery is $6.97.
Great video! I do think panic selling because of Unlimited is a reason for some decline.
Great chat thanks
*taking notes* âŠtake a showerâŠgot it.
I went n bought 5 packs couple weeks after SOR came out. Cuz I love Star Wars. N I pulled a (showcase) Sabine Wrenđ€Ż
Nice!!!! Sometimes the pack machine prints money.
Nice, I have all the online promos and rare rings in foil.
Very cool man! I finally picked up the foil ring I was missing. Took a lot of searching!
Not a serious CCG collector by any means (mostly just indulging nostalgia, as I got a few Young Jedi packs as stock stuffers as a kid back in the day) but I came across a Boonta Eve Podracer booster pack secondhand, bought it on a whim for a few bucks...and the top card was the Sebulba UR. Which is how I found this video! Wild. Great insight into a side of Star Wars I never really knew/thought much about!
Doesnât get much better than that for a pull! Boonta Eve is such a random product to find in the wild. Very fun nab.
Would you be able to post these deck lists in the description?
Yep, getting them together but will have some in the next while. Thanks for the interest in the game!
I've been trying to find real gameplay this past week but there just isn't much on CZcams, so thank you guys for showcasing an actual match of this game!
I'm really loving these videos! I think I've seen all the Trek ones now. Been wanting to get into this game for years and finally making it happen. It's great to learn so much about the game rules, design and history. Keep em coming!
Thanks! Weâve got some more Star Trek content filmed that will be coming out in the future so stay tuned! Iâm slowly taking the plunge into the game myself and enjoying it quite a bit.
Enjoyed the breakdown - agreed on the product value. Going over $150 all-in on a set 1 box is almost always a complete loss on value right now, just very hard to cover that cost with the pulls, especially with the coalition pattern where the more valuable legendaries are nested closer together.
Absolutely agree. I think limited print run, or a perceived limited print run led to a bit of a run on sealed product. Thereâs lots of goodies in there and for msrp, youâve got a pretty good return but at $150⊠itâs grim.
your a cardboard scholar you should wear the jacket and use a nice pipe sometime 8)
Oooh. Thatâs a fun idea. Need to get myself the proper gear
I heart BoardMatt.
Thanks for tuning in man. Itâs been so fun to see people enjoy and get value out of these videos. Your terminator stuff should be there soon!!
the icon in the game text of SADD(V) is maintenance
fascinating. i had forgotten all about maintenance
Awesome thanks â
Cards like this really pique my interest in virtual cards. Thematic, OT based, playable but by no means busted. Very nice.
Love it Matt! Can't wait for this next set!
I think itâs gonna be a good one!
Canât wait for âThe power of many!â card
Every time you add a destiny you'll be required to say "the power of X (X = current number of destinies)"
When is the Q2 video being released?
Wednesday :)
Awesome, thanks. Iâm looking forward to it. Thanks for making these videos, too. Theyâve been a great help for someone getting back into the hobby after a couple decades away from the game.
You should probably know the rules like timing of on attack before posting content for the game. It kinda makes it seem like you havenât played it very much. On attacks resolve before combat actually happens so before damage is dealt. So if the defender dies from the on attack then fennec Shand takes no damage.
Thanks for the rules explanation along with the snarky gatekeeping who can make content on games! Iâm sorry if we are all learning a new game together. No interest in joining a pro circuit for this game. Sheesh.
Iâm thinking it wouldâve been easy to look up the answer before posting the video tho. Thatâs what I donât get. Iâm all for people learning the game.
The print and play decks are up to 8 now. The playtest decks are only three of them. About the AI part, I personally only have a problem with it if they are not upfront about it. I do understand other people having issues with it, though.
I love getting to see these decks and gameplay, keep it up!
I will talk to Raffi! He is always looking to get some more games in.
I think the rule of 40 is very hit or miss and is extremely IP dependent for example Star Wars the original Kenner action figures are going to be hitting almost 50 years old soon and theyâre going stronger than ever whereas you know something like Battlestar Galactica kind of fell off, including anything that occurred after the reboot in the early 2000s. thereâs probably something more to be said âresilientâ IP can withstand something like 60 years because at that point youâre gonna be in your 80s so Star Wars going around thereâs very few things that I think make it that far and I can only think of things really off the top of my head, which is Disney marvel and DC comics
This is a great point. I do think that even something like Star Wars can start to wane. It feels like thereâs a bit of IP exhaustion. DC universe stuff feels very flat right now, for example. Marvel less so but it feels like comic book stuff is cycling out a little bit
@@boardmatt Sure, however, compare this to other huge IPs from the 50s and 60s like Looney Tunes, and I don't think that they stand the test of time; even if something like DC comics is flat or comics are waning, they're still a force in the industry that has persisted, which seems rare to me. I think that stuff from 40 years ago is still around, like Transformers, GI Joe, TMNT, and MOTU. I think that the commercialization of EVERYTHING in the 1980s, coupled with the ease of accessibility to information about niche products, means that I think stuff has a longer shelf life, but it will still end up being only a handful of resilient IPs that make it 60-80 years.

What I'm hearing is that I should wait to work on my swccg collection until 2040+ when you (and others our age) downsize ;)
There will definitely be collections for sale in 20 years ;)
