Thanks Matt and Scott! I'm in the process of building paper swccg retro decks and Category 1 has been the number one place I've been able to get cards for this project. They've been fantastic, the sheer number of products for sale on their website is incredible. I particularly like their wish list features, I get emails when they restock cards I want. They restock a lot. Some trades with some cool people have helped too 😉.
These are more obscure for sure, but I dabbled in a few of them. Over Power, and Doom Trooper for sure. Never considered them to have any monetary value. Any time I got promo cards from Scrye or Inquest for games I didn’t play the tended to get incorporated into my stack of random cards for playing “Card the Game”.
@@boardmatt It may have been a local thing from the University I was attending. Basically each player had a deck of random mixed cards from anything (mine even had an Ace of Spades and a Jack of something. The group would elect an arbiter and then shuffle up and draw 5. Then taking turns around the table each person could draw and play. Creativity was the goal and rules would be made up on the fly as the board state changed. I even included a judicial influence type card from somewhere to play on the arbiter to make him more lenient in allowing whatever shenanigan I was trying to pull off. (Like making an Ace of Spades a super shovel to dig the foundation out from under another player’s key site or HQ causing it to collapse, for example.)

It’s cool where doomtrooper is still going digitally. The miniature game, the new rpg etc.
I still have two starter decks of Doom Trooper I bought from B. Dalton Books when I was like 16-17.
