    Hi, thanks so much for posting these videos. They are very insightful!
    May I know what was your layover time when transferring from international to domestic flight?

    • @thetravelinggmom617

      Hello! It was 1 hour 45 mins, and rather rush for us as we had to collect our luggages at the international terminal and queue up for check in again at domestic terminal.

    Hello! Thanks for your vlogs :)) I’ll be travelling to Hokkaido too this year in the first week of June !! Could I ask what time in that year did you travel to Hokkaido? (which month!)

      Hello! I was there from mid Oct till end Oct. I was also there in June 2018 for summer. Very pretty in Furano!

    Hello, I am looking to go to Hokkaido too.for autumn but will not be driving.
    Any advices.
    With regards to flight, I feel Scoot timing is better as only 1hr layover at Taipei. No need to check in n out at Haneda etc.

      Hello! We’ve been there twice and both times we were driving. Not too sure how it’s really like using public transport. But if you are mainly in Sapporo, then I think it’s fine. I did some research and noticed many other travelers commute with public transport in Sapporo and if they want to take a day trip to Furano or other nearby places, they will rent a car for that short 1-2 days.
      With regards to flight, we were also puzzled as to why we needed to check in and out when we traveled there but did not need to when we traveled back. We mainly chose ANA because of the 2 baggages that each of us are allowed to check in. We tend to buy a lot of stuff back hence the baggage was important for us 😄

    Hello !
    Love your vlogs
    For your connecting flight at Haneda Airport, did you have to check in your baggage again at the domestic terminal ? Or you checked in luggage at the international terminal transit counter and then go straight to domestic terminal

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617  Před rokem +2

      Thank you! When we arrived at Haneda, we had to collect our luggages at the international terminal and check in again at the domestic terminal. On our return flight we were told it will be the same process, but after clearing security, the staff stopped us to inform us that they will be able to help us transfer our luggages to our international flight. Hence we transferred from domestic to international only with our hand-carry baggages.

      @@thetravelinggmom617 I saw that you mentioned that the rental company recommended the scenic route. May I ask if that route is taking National Route 453 from New Chitose Airport ?

    Hi! How's your experience with nippon car rental?

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617  Před rokem +1

      Hello! Overall it was good. The first time we came we rented from OTS and we wanted rent from them again but somehow they were not available anymore. Nippon Rent-A-Car was considered the cheapest among the others (Toyota/ Honda Rent-A-Car). Mileage was within 20k and the vehicle was clean. The staff was also able to communicate in English, which was a plus for us as he was able to recommend certain routes to take etc. You may consider to purchase their highway pass if you are travelling to other cities as the toll is quite expensive. The highway pass was suspended during Covid period, not sure if they have resumed it now, you can check it out!

    Hello! Again. Am now seriously looking to book my tix to Sapporo. However, it’s a toss btw ANA or Scoot. Is there sufficient time to clear immigration, pick up luggages at Intl terminal n take the shuttle bus over to Domestic terminal for flight to Sapporo. This is my main worry. Not likely to take the red eye flight n also din want to “stress” out at the start of the holidays.
    Would really appreciate you sharing yr experience at Haneda terminal (or Narita). I had friends who came back from Haneda n said they waited for 4 hours before reaching the immigration at Haneda! This is during the Sakura period, where literally everyone is flocking to Japan.
    THANK YOU

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617  Před rokem +1

      Hello! It was sufficient time for toilet break, picking up our luggage, and taking the shuttle bus. I just feel that the queue was longer than expected at domestic airport hence we were anxious if we were able to make it. However, there are staff there to take note of gate closing timing, so if your gate is closing, they will announce for you to step forward to join the priority queue. It is all in Japanese language though, so we had to sort of guess and look at the timing shown on their announcement iPad and check with them if it is our turn for priority boarding.
      We have not waited for 4 hours before but I’m sure if it’s during Sakura season it’s going to be very crowded. Even I am afraid of traveling to Japan during Spring because of the crowd! Both our trip to Hokkaido is based on red eye flight and during Summer and Autumn, hence we are unaware of how the crowd will be for other flight timings or even during Spring.
      Hope this helps!

      Thank you!, i think now it is open fully n the whole world is flocking to Japan, the Q is not expected to be any shorter. I went in Spring 2018 n the Q is ok.

    • @thetravelinggmom617
      @thetravelinggmom617  Před rokem

      Yes that’s true, we went when it wasn’t fully open so we had lesser crowd even at tourist spots! Guess this is the crowd we will expect from now on 😄
