Welcome to my channel! Here I will be posting about seasonal home decor, home makeovers and improvements, and some shops with me's as well. Okay...that's it...I will be staining and painting all of the following...8 dining chairs, 8 kitchen chairs, a 10 foot dining table and a 9 foot kitchen table...you motivated me to get moving...I have the supplies, but I doubted myself until now! I will do this very soon...maybe in my garage...thank you!😊
We actually made and stained the tabletop, painted the base so far! We will be removing old cane rush from each of the chairs, making new chair bases using plywood, plan to upholster the chairs, and I am crocheting a new tablerunner! A ton of work but well worth it. The whole kitchen will look amazing just because of the new look. Thanks for inspiring me to just do it!!!!

That’s beautiful. You can you an ergonomic paint scraper to get that top coat of varnish off. It’s faster and won’t gum up your sanding pads like that.

We have a similar table with the grooves how would you fill them to make the top totally smooth? Your table looks great!
How did it hold up with painting over varnished wood?

What did you do under the lip of the top? Stain or white?
Which brand of white paint for xhairs did u use
Are you going to spray your material on your chairs? With scotch guardthat will prevent spills and stains to a point and then between again. You can come back and vacuum and spongeother code if you want to keep it coated
Can you plz share list of items used to paint, specially paint color/ number of chair
I have the same dining set and with 3 kids it’s wearing down. I’ve thought about doing this but was too nervous. Thanks. I think I will try it.

I want to do the exact same thing as you did. I have the same exact table and chairs. I have never done anything like this before. Would you help me with the list of things to buy? Everything from the size/number of the sand paper to the different types of paint/stain/wax or whatever else you think I need. The only thing I have is the stapler. Also, do you think 2 yards of fabric would be ok for 6 chairs? Thank you so much 🤗
I would use aluminum oxide sandpaper. It’s much better quality and doesn’t gum up as bad with the old varnish. 60 grit then 180 or 220 grit.

Are white chairs and table legs hard to keep clean with children? Im contemplating turning mine white as well but could use advice
If it has a fresher finish, newer, smother is what will help u keep it clean! Any color just needs to be smooth I have a brown wooden table, darker wood lol. The chairs are black and have a cushion. It is so hard to keep clean it’s a nice table heavy. It needs a little lice and will be easier to enjoy for sure!
If you can stay away from a bunch of dips and creases in the wood. Fancy edges lol my table legs have way to much character w kids it sucks…
