No it's not his responsibility but if he cares about his family's safety why put that off? Also I can chew bubblegum and walk... I recognize the rats r an issue and the landlord is dead wrong but the husband should mitigate some of his family's hardships.

This goes to show how nasty landlords are. Idk where these people live but I live in Florida paying double of what they are paying for that place. We live in a 2bdr 1btr small duplex for $1800/month. They live in a 3bdr 1btr house for $950/month. Their situation is extreme, living with rats and plumbing problems but our problems are similar since we live with rats in our walls. Thank goodness they haven't gotten into our living area but c'mon what are we paying for here. There really should be laws about fair payment for renters.
