I think more and more furniture companies should reach out to you and provide for furniture to help these people, especially elderly people. We should also be pressuring our governments more and demand better social care for the weakest of our society! It’s unthinkable that an 80 year old person, who has worked her whole life has to live in such conditions 😢

That's actually a great idea. Would be great promotion for them! Auri you should have your manager reach out to some furniture companies! They send mattresses to CZcams creators all the time in exchange for promo/ review. Could do that with you! Right now Helix has been sending out a lot of mattresses for creator review. Purple and Nectar are two others that have commonly done the same. Also, there are companies like Brooke Linen that send sheet / bedding sets for review.

@@kaylariggs5188 Indeed!! I hope these companies are aware of how much influence social media ACTUALLY has and how their numbers will grow!
The #1 caregiver should always be the government, though. I work and pay taxes so I DEMAND to have my money’s worth of care for everyone, no matter where they are in life. If you work and you pay taxes, you should have access to the services you’re paying/paid for, it’s that easy! That’s what tax money is for and yet, our “representatives” looove to waste money on sh*t that IS NOT necessary and putting it in their pockets.

You cant believe how much these videos have helped me. I've been severely depressed for months after some less than great things happened to me. Because my body felt dirty, I didn't care if my house was dirty. I would only wash my clothing for work and occasionally some dishes to eat with, and that was it. Over the last week, I've gotten my house clean. The last three days I've had the flu, which just made it harder. Now the only things I have left are to fold the laundry once it's dry and to wash the floors. Once the weather becomes rainy, I'll start on the yard too.

I live with my grandmother who recently fell down and now thankfully she's healing but that's besides the point. My grandmother had fell in the kitchen when I stepped outside just to collect a package. I heard something fall but she didn't make a sound or call me from outside, just because she didn't want to worry me unfortunately she broke a bone so she had to go the hospital. After coming home my grandmother whenever she needed something would always apologize to me saying she's causing me trouble. Then I would have to tell her over and over again that she's not a burden and that it's my duty. Due to family reasons I live with my grandmother, but I wonder if my situation was different I wouldn't be living her and therefore I wonder what the house would've been like if I wasn't there. I guess what I'm trying to say is not all situations are abuse. Depending on the elderly person they tend to be independent and want to do things themselves afraid to be a burden therefore she probably didn't tell them and unfortunately they had to find out about the house when her daughter came to cut her hair. Please do not assume things without knowing the full story.

I have an aunt who has been slowly going down the dementia road. For those who wonder why the daughter didn't realize what was going on, let me tell you about my aunt... I live about 30 minutes from her, but her 3 sons live quite a distance further (two live, literally, across the country); because of that, I am the one who visits her the most, who has been helping her with her everyday life, etc. While the two who live in other states are good about calling her every week or two, they didn't realize how bad she had become, because often she can speak on the phone very well. When they came into town (to visit her for her 95th birthday) they had a big shock, trying to understand how she had deteriorated "so quickly"! One even accused me of buying her a computer that was too complex for her to use -- instead of understanding that when we bought the computer 3 years ago, she could use it perfectly well. Now she doesn't even remember how to turn it on! This happens a lot with dementia patients -- on the phone they can sound fairly normal, despite the fact that their everyday existence has deteriorated dramatically!
I don't blame the family for not understanding how dire the situation was with their mother... BUT I hope they understand that she cannot live independently anymore, and that they should step in to move her to a place where she can be cared for and live safely.

Just putting this out there: in situations like this story it’s not as simple and easy as “getting family to help” once people of a certain age are living in their house in this state it’s too much to manage even with assistance. Especially people with dementia/Alzheimer’s or a disability, anyone who tries to help or change their routine in any way is met with resistance. People with dementia can become very agitated and older people in general like to stay in their home they’ve stayed for years. Since she has children and grand children I’m sure they’ve tried helping many times but it’s very easy to underestimate how big and uncontrolled the issue is. In the US. we think it is OK to just let someone live like this. I called the Department of Children and Families and was told by the case worker that, "some people like to live like this," and there is nothing you as a daughter can do about this mess. My mom had suffered dementia and a lifetime of mental health torment, and I could not get any help or even verbal advise. They just let the elderly rot. The medical system in the U.S. is awful unless you have very deep deep pockets.

As she is certain her mum hasn't showered. It's not the states responsibility to take care of you parents if you think that you're silly. You never know what people are going through. My mother was abusive and even after my older sister came to stay and take care of her she was still verbally abusive and would just go off at the drop of a hat. If you met her you wouldn't know at first because she would probably be super pleasant to you. She refused to go to a doctor after awhile and my sister was afraid she would lose her nursing license and she left. So now I'm staying with her and after a couple years and many trips to the ER for her seizures she finally agreed to go to a doctor and thankfully we got one that was very understanding and not pushy for extra test. I think she was also dealing with recurrent UTIs which can really affect their cognitive abilities and now I have her taking a high dose of d-mannose and drinking plenty of water. Many people are barely making it with the wages and prices of things today and if I had to work on top of bring here for my mom and having my own mental health issues... well I probably wouldn't be able to deal with it and I definately wouldn't be able to afford my medications and insulin while earning minimum wage (7.25 in Texas.)

You don’t judge other people and that is good because neither do I. Everyone has a story and until you know it you really have no room to judge. Other people have backstories that probably hardly anyone knows about. If they tell you then that should mean something to you because there is probably a good number of people who they don’t tell. I also love how you are so considerate of others space as well. I also love how you take orders for cleaning just out of the blue. You listen to others and these videos are oddly satisfying. Work, depression and fatigue get in the way so often, for me, so I do find it difficult to get the energy levels up! I clean when I visit, although he does a good job keeping his house clean and tidy!

I’m glad her daughter asked for help, but it amazes me that she even got to this point in the first place. Makes me wonder how long her own family was not seeing her for.

My father in law has lifelong undiagnosed mental health issues and after his wife died 15 years ago he refused to let anyone in the house. He would meet us out and about sometimes (we live 1.5 hours away) but refused to let us in the house, that also goes for my brother in law and his family and relatives from Ireland. If someone refuses you can't do much. Two years ago a neighbour saw his front door open and went in - it was horrendous and rats and mice had moved in. He was living off jars of pickles and had lost the use of his legs and a lot of his fingers.
He then accepted our help, he moved in with us and we got the use of his fingers back however he refused to exercise and will never walk again. He choses to soil himself and will not wash unless strong coercion is used. He is now in a care home as that was his choice and at all times we have respected his wishes.
It is not easy to stand back and watch someone decline like this. However there was absolutely no way he would let us into the house nor would he accept any help we offered him. Despite the mess he was living in he claimed it was the neighbours (who are clean and tidy) who caused the rodent problem. I cannot stress enough how mental health impacted his choices and beliefs.
It is shocking when you find out someone has a family but please take time to understand that if someone chooses to live like this then you cannot change them. Only a professional therapist can help and even then only if the person wants to change. Watch programmes on hoarders to understand how even a loving and involved family cannot help.
Do not judge others unless you have walked in their shoes, we don't know what problems her family has themselves.
      And always be kind.

It was like this with my great-aunt and great-uncle. They didn‘t have any children and my father was the closest relative (bloodwise and locally) they had. But unfortunately they weren‘t ‚nice‘ people. The were always complaining, always making ill-meaning remarks to my father and mother (for example asking my mother straight in the face if she ‚even got fatter again‘!)
Finally my parents told them, they didn‘t want to spent time with them any longer. They left their phone number and told them to call, if there was an emergency.
It took 3 years, then my great-uncle was calling again. It was late at night and he said somebody had kidnapped my great-aunt. Turned out he had brought her to the hospital the night before (the was starved and emaciated) which he had forgotten because of dementia. Both were an a bad shape physically and mentally. The house was almost as bad like the one above.
After that my parents took them to a nursing home and were visiting them daily till they died a year later.

She’s so AWSOME bc she doesn’t judge people, no matter what situation they are in. This is so kind because when you are in a bad place, it’s hard to receive negative feedback. The only thing is that I feel like I should be praying for her safety because she doesn’t wear and PPE or a mask, or boots. I hope you stay healthy and safe. Plus, tbh, I love your positivity, if I were doing this job I would be very scared to mess up the home and to touch the dirt, so I consider you brave. 😊

My mother's place would have got like this in the final years of her life. She refused all help for years except me. I was working full time and lived 30 min drive away. So I had a genius thought that I would pay a cleaner for MY house so I wasn't cleaning 2 houses. Worked well! She also had hoarding disorder but thankfully let me throw actual rubbish (except papers) and unhygienic stuff out and clean the bathroom and kitchen. Otherwise used to fight with her to constantly moved broken stuff and junk upstairs (she could no longer get upstairs) to the point I was worried the upstairs ceilings would give way. It was exhausting and a weekly battle.

Then when she died it took me 6 months every evening and weekend to clear the hoard, with 10 large dumpsters worth of complete trash, mouse nests, everything. These people have serious mental illness and often the family just has to stay away for their own sanity or to avoid abuse.
