Today I am in France and I am not alone! I have my wonderful cleaning friend Brogan (@nottheworstcleaner) and the one and only Scrub daddy with me!! Like what?? I was cleaning with the CEO of Scrub daddy how cool!! And this isn’t just any home guys.. this home was infested with bed bugs. And it was crazy they were absolutely everywhere. The man whose home we cleaned had become a single father to a 1 year old 30 years ago when his wife passed away. And from the apartment we even found dirty diapers from 30 years ago. Auri, at the risk of sounding like the fussy old lady (that I am) - I’ve had bedbugs before and I want to warn you: You and Brogan need to check your clothes very, very carefully when you leave an infested apartment or home. Bed bugs are hitchhikers. They will cling to a fold in your clothes and come into your space, where they will take up residence. Also, tell the people you guys are helping to pull their beds a few inches away from the wall. Tell them to keep their bed linens from touching the floor. Spread a few tablespoons of diatomaceous earth around the bed legs and under the bed. Diatomaceous earth is non toxic, won’t hurt pets and will kill bed bugs. Do those two things and the little monsters wont be able to get in your bed. Good luck and God bless you for helping this poor man and his daughter.
Actually in Brogan's video about this particular apartment, she said that they actually threw their clothes away each day after they left.

france is actually f**ked with bedbugs right now its insane.
A few corrections to what you said. Just pulling your bed away from the wall and sprinkling DE around the bed won’t do it.
The bedbugs are nested in and around your bed. If you toss your whole entire mattress and bed frame and get a new one maybe this would work, but you’d also need sticky traps under each foot of the bed and never ever put anything on your bed and strip down before bed, no cross contamination.
As for the DE, you shouldn’t sprinkle it, you need to buy a duster to apply it. The dusting should be so light you can’t even see the DE, otherwise the bugs will just walk around it. Also wear a n95 while applying as breathing in this bad for your lungs.
Honestly though, don’t try to take care of bed bugs alone, call a professional and listen to all their advice and prep.
Thank you for the corrections. By all means, have the place sprayed first! I did. And put on a mask when putting the diatomaceous earth under the bed, for sure. Then check the bed. Bed bugs poop A LOT and the poop is black, so you will know they’re in your bed. You will see the stains. I scrubbed every nook and cranny on my bed with a strong mixture of water and bleach. Every few days I did it. It seemed to work because I got rid of them. Anyway, hopefully both Auri and Brogan got out of there without bringing the dreaded bedbugs home with them. @@ktk6049
I found one single adult bed bug once. Must hitched a ride from somewhere because I never found anything else thankfully. But man! I tell you! For like 3 months it was just constant paranoia! I was tearing my condo down to nothing every week sometime a few times a week. Heat treating, vacuuming and cleaning every nook and cranny. My house was constantly a disaster from moving furniture around constantly. And even after being confident there were no other bugs, eggs, larva, anything any time I had even a slight itch or saw a speck somewhere I would panic and have to throughly inspect everything again. Been about 7 months now and the paranoia is finally gone. But I do not wish that on anyone!
Same. I found one in our couch after a sleep over birthday party. I vacuumed daily for weeks and sprayed bug spray constantly. Never found another one.
But one of the attendees had their home fumigated soon after and then I found out it was like the third time.
I had them once, got them from some used furniture I think. My boyfriend kept getting these weird bites all over him when he hadn't been outside. I didn't ever get any bites on me so I figured maybe it was happening at his job. Eventually I figured it out when I was changing the sheets and lifted up the mattress. I vacuumed underneath several times over a few days and got a spray and we got rid of them, and they never returned. It wasn't super difficult.

I've dealt with bed bugs a few times in my life. You can have a perfectly clean home and still get them. They're expensive and tough to get out. And this place looks so good after your help. Hopefully, they're getting the help they need.

I think Mattel should make a Barbie doll out of you! You already look like Barbie and an Auri Barbie would be so cute in those braids and pink clothing and sparkly shoes! Exactly! I can't imagine how hard it must be/ have been for the daughter to learn how to clean and how to be clean. Kids adapt so much of how they act and behave and what their habits are from their parents. And I can't imagine she ever really learned any habit of cleaning. It's heartbreaking. But it's so wonderful that there are people like Aurikatariina who help
As someone with diagnosed ADHD I really appreciated the approach of not shaming people for struggling.

As a healthcare aide who did home visits and light cleaning for the elderly, I learned some precautions. Be careful accepting used gifts from people like clothing, bedding or home decor. Always remove your shoes and outfit at the door when you return home. Sometimes I wore shoe coverings while working. Bed bugs like clean homes too so it doesn’t mean you are dirty. Use protective mattress covers and check the seams periodically for brown stains. Bathrooms are the easiest place to see bedbugs. Unfortunately my older clients had poor eyesight and were not always aware they had a problem until I brought it to their attention lovingly. Bless you for all that you do!! ❤

I had let one room in my home get in a bad way, and a friend who came to help me clean was convinced the floor of that room was ruined. I knew just what I needed to do to get it back to tiptop shape from watching Auri scrub and scrape and mop and wipe so many floors! Now I still stare at it sometimes, amazed that it looks just like new again. All cuz of Auri!! :) :)

Bed bugs were an issue when I lived in Las Vegas as well. At least the hotels could afford to fumigate when they were discovered. But it also affected people in apartment complexes. Usually those who didn’t have much money. I once donated furniture to a family with young children because they lost their things due to a bad bed bug infestation and had been sleeping on the floor. As for Scrub Daddy products, I discovered them due to you and other sponsored creators. I love every product of theirs that I have purchased!

I'm so thrilled to tell you all the one time we had bed bugs brought into our home. We had them about 1 week!! We put everything in plastic the very day we found them. We had previously ordered Bug MD for pissants. We sprayed everything in the house. Curtains, throw rugs after walking them beds, all furniture. They didn't take long to go! What a relief.

Ich bin Holländisch, spreche aber auch fließend (gebrochenes) Deutsch.
Ich hatte kein Problem mit saubermachen, aber aufräumen war eine Große Aufgabe und dann ist saubermachen ganz schwierig und kostete viel Zeit.
Jetzt (bin ich in Therapie und gebe Sachen weg und) räume ich alles was kein "Zuhause" hat, in einem Box und mache ein label mit 'Muß noch ausuchen" und mache dann sauber.
Langsam (aber doch!) suche ich mir die Sachen aus und gebe sie weg/stelle sie irgendwo in meinem Haus.
Mein Haus ist klein (35 m2 und ich wohne hier schon 10 Jahre, ich bin ein Kreative-Hoarder von Materialen) und ich finde Kindheits-sachen-wegwerfen gánz schwierig. Aber ich übe dás weggeben jetzt nur wenn ich mich okay fühle und nicht wenn ich traurig bin. Und ich tausche Sachen mit Leute, das hat mich auch Riesig geholfen (denn doofe-Sachen die du bekommen hast aus eine Tüte von jemand anderes weggeben ist einfacher. Manchmal gibt's 3-4 tolle Sachen die ich behalte.
Und den Rest von meine Sachen, darum kümmert sich die andere Person.)

I'm so glad you and Brogan are able to help this man and his daughter. It's so sad that it took this long and for it to be this bad for them to get help. Obviously he needed support when his wife died but maybe he didn't feel able to ask. Adeline is obviously a loving daughter and very strong woman to have gotten herself out of this situation and into a healthy enough state that she's able to look out for her dad.

Every time I watch one of your videos, I get the urge to clean and I can always clean something in my home because I have three kids under the age of five and two cats and a dog. It is absolutely satisfied to what you clean each room. I love those before and afters. I love the bathroom aspects in a lot of these apartments that you can hose off anything in your bathroom and it will all drain into the floor. I could not tell you how many times I would love to take my shower head and spray my toilet down or whatever because it would be a lot faster of cleaning or I need to do that to get rid of something and that would make it easier. I have a friend who posted on Facebook that all she wanted for Christmas was a Scrub Daddy and scrub mommy set. Got excited for her. Hahaha. I love your videos and you and Scrub Daddy!

Bedbugs are incredibly easy to bring home. I stayed 3 days at a nice hotel on vacation and very soon discovered my little traveling buddies after I returned home. Two years and a few thousand bucks later (not to mention all the blood, sweat and tears), I finally got rid of them. There isn’t enough love or money in the world to knowingly get me into a bedbug-infested home. I hope you stripped into clean clothes before getting into your car or near your hotel room. Yikes.

I really sympathize with the people of Paris I moved into an apartment with an infestation. It was a nightmare. Poor Charlie and Adaline I hope they can start to live and get the support they need now.
Scrub daddy truly is a good company. It is made by very funny and nice people! And, well, I was using their products because of your recommendation, but the best thing about them was the reaction they brought out of my partner. He was used to normal sponges, so when he experienced scrub daddy's power his expression was priceless 😆So I would recommend having them just to shock people. 10/10 fun!

One good way to get rid of bed bugs is to use heat, burning hot air. Plus you have to find their hiding places which can be away from the bed in a high corner along the wall.
You may have to get rid of of the bed and mattress…
