I'm a Chelsea fan since 1995 back in the days of Gullit and then Zola in late 96. Thierry Henry is the greatest ever Premier League player who should have won AT LEAST 2 Ballon d'Or awards. He not only scored plenty of goals, he assisted plenty very unselfishly. He constantly scored goal of the season contenders. He scored the kind of goals that made you love football and the reason you watched football. Nobody scored the kind of goals Henry did.
If there was a goal to sum up Henry, it's the goal at the very beginning of the video. You're playing a great Man Utd team. You have Dennis Irwin on your back, one of the greatest ever Premier League defenders. What would anyone do? Even great players would probably just shield the ball and lay on a pass to someone else. Some tricky players may try a flick to go past the marker.
But who on earth would take just 2 touches, with his back to goal on an angle, and have the ball end up in the top corner all within a second? Just Thierry Henry. That's how good he was.
All I can say is thank you. That was Thierry. Magic.

He was the perfect player that has skills, finishing, dribbling, passing. He wasn't just a striker and at times he's a creativity player which why he has the most assists and only one player have matched his record. For me he's the greatest Arsenal player ever and the best ST in the Prem ever.

In 2005/06 when I was 9 and newly started watching football, thid guy could do no wrong and I’m a Man Utd fan. Everything was done with elegance and class. He looked and played so cool in that O2 shirt. He is the king of both Arsenal and the Premier League.
Respect. Our rivalry with Utd in those years was like nothing I've ever seen before, or since. The greatest years of the Premier League, with some of the greatest players I've ever seen playing for both!

In the 04/05 season, Henry was out for about two months due to an injury.
He was still the PL's top scorer during his two month's absence and when he came back, he extended his lead even further and won the Golden Boot that season.

Thierry Henry is the reason I fell in love with football. He inspired so many emotions and gave me so much joy throughout my childhood. He is my greatest of all time without question! I've loved and admired so many players and had my mind blown watching a handful of the superstars of the past 20years, but Henry will always stand atop the mountain for me... his style, flair, passion, unquestionable ability... Anyone who has seen Henry play...be it a fan or player would never question his abilities. Graceful, lightening quick with incredible balance. Defenders were petrified of him. As a Liverpool fan, Henry was the reason why I followed and enjoyed watching Arsenal when Liverpool didn't play. Henry was amazing to watch but let's not forget Robert Pires, Freddie Ungberg, Patrick Viera, Van Persie and the classiest player on the the ball Dennis Berkamp... They had quality all round and played attacking carpet football with crazy fast wingers (and wing backs with the likes of Ashley Cole and Sagna) They played the most beautiful football of that generation. That team had great chemistry.

I'm 30 and grew up watching Henry play in the invincibles, I already know the answer why am I watching this
The rival between Henry and Ronaldinho was different to modern rivalries in that they both respected and admired each other, although they both won the world cups and champions leagues and scored many goals and assists, the special thing with them is how they made watching football such a pleasure. They were showmen that aimed to please the masses with their flair and attacking brilliance.
Artists, the pitch was their canvas.
The best of Henry is he was very humble and very very respectful to the game. He played naturally, never selfish despite the fact that he was a striker

Why do we talk about him still in the past tense? He might be at an age where he physically cannot play at that high level, but his mind and understanding of the game is still world class. Every game analysis he has made in the recent years is a master class about foodball. I believe we yet to see the last of Thierry in the football world.
Henry wasn’t just as good as people said, he was much better than people thought he was. There are only few play layers who have impact on the game of football even many years after they stopped playing. Henry is one them.
Short answer. Yes. 100%. Probably the most dynamic striker and could score from many places on the pitch. He was super elusive. I always loved when he would take on 3-4 defenders, cut through them like butter, then execute his trademark finish, low to the far post and run for the corner flag. People thought he was cocky but he was just insanely confident in his ability.

Henry had it all. Forget the absolutely crazy goal and assist statistics that he had, which are pretty unbelievable. He could run past people with his strength and power, he had flair and skill, he would score goals from outside the box with ease and then score tap ins inside the box like a lethal poacher. He had amazing passing ability, some if his through balls to his team mates were like he had radar. He was unpredictable, electric and a pleasure to watch play. You got the feeling he could do anything he wanted with the ball. Imagine some of the goals Henry and Bergkamp scored in training that none of us will ever get to see. I don't even like Arsenal, but I watched their games while Henry was playing just because I wanted to see what he'd do. Definitely the best player in Premier League history IMO.
