Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.
One day, a talented and powerfu general named Ling Bu Yi comes to the town - and falls in love with her at first sight. He resolves to marry her, even though it will cause him no end of problems if he decides to pursue this union. She also warns him that she doesn’t trust him, and that her stubborn personality might not be suitable for the wife of a general. i love it when hes so overprotective of her and will risk killing a family for her and when he lectures her and shes saying hes scolding her he apologize right away and he became such a softie 🥰 and admitting hes afraid of losing her. they had to be so lovey dovey there too lol everybody in the background be like really now 🙄
Know what, I'm actually really annoyed that she can get away with whatever she wants simply by saying that she was so scared and why is he scolding her instead of comforting her. When you're reckless and your life is constantly on the line and someone is having to rescue your butt all the time, you _deserve_ to be scolded. Instead, Ling Buyi takes the blame and is the one to apologize...like usual. When is the female lead ever going to take ownership for her impulsive decisions and actions?
@@divinearia1601 you need to understand her character to know her ...what's a fresh breath of air she is . Her character is no where perfact and have flaws & weak side but she is very clever strong emotionally mentally with a pinch of innocence & naughtiness...and if you are expecting her warrior then she is not ... physically she is not strong just like women of that times and she hate showing weak side of her to other which lu buyi understand and try to make her lower her wall in front of him in which he is almost successful ☺️

Here he tastes fear for the first time. Fear for someone other than himself, one he holds dearer than any other.
And here others will know he is capable of anything, who dare mess with someone he regards highly. And also some will know his weakness.
I will argue it wasnt his time fearing for her. First time would be before they get together after the attack at Huo City where he is impaled by an arrow, discovers she was meant to arrive the day before with her uncle and aunt, cuts off the protuding arrow part and immediately goes looking for her. That would be his first real time fearing for her life.

If only "All" historical k-dramas can be like this one. This will always be the "BEST ONE" EVER MADE. Their love surpasses all of the rest. This is drama is going to be one of those classics that will forever be number ONE on my list of k-dramas.

Must say that CD's always show that ancient soldiers/armies are very formidable. I think I now want to study them. Also, must say that the fabric the costume department used looks amazing in this drama!
Lol.. Finally! I have been looking at the costume department too for a long time. They did a really good job. I have watched many many period Chinese drama and not one comes close to this. @@kaisakaren1209 😊. Costume is one of my main factors when watching CD's. And sets. There are so so many people involved when making these dramas, it blows my mind! And with the budget being eaten up so much for the big name leads, I get happy when I see some of it spent on the areas that catch my eye. This is the first time costumes in a drama actually make my hands "itch" to reach out & touch and admire them, 🥰. *Self confessed fabric junkie.

My zisheng is soo heroic my hero. The way he saved css was great, without hesitation he hit that lady throw a knife at that guy his cape went flying whoosh and save css in his arms ( I know that he was really scare of hurting her, no hesitation then css would be okay that’s what he is saying to himself)
4:35 Love that scene, the guy with the knife telling Ling to back off. Ling backs off, then ruthlessly proceeds to take the entire family hostage at sword point. And tells his soldiers to kill if necessary. Ya, his equivalent for tit-for-tat. He did not come to play, he came to slay (no pun intended😉).
Yuan is very upset and willing to take on harm to save her also….be water 🌊

This is getting annoying now. She is so irritatingly interfering and he says ok because he likes her?? He takes her just because she asks? And she gets into trouble all the time and he has to save her all the time.
I think the reasons why he allowed her to join him on the investigation, was partially due to her reason, that she explained with passion and sincerity. Also she was the only one to find the secret passage, thus showing her intelligence and eye for minute details, others easily miss. I'm not saying that he doesn't have a soft spot when it comes to her, but there maybe other reasons as well.
she in fact found the killer. And she did it for the empress, who was better than a mother to her. Anyway, she did go there with his permission and she was the only one who found the secret room, they couldn't even find it after she'd been measuring the building inside out in front of them. Please don't hate on the girl just because she's the girl and she doesn't act like a puppet for the betterment of the boy. She does that without being a puppet.
I believe he also agrees because he can keep an eye on her, if he says no and she sneaks in and investigates on her own...what happens if she found that secret room and no one knows she's there. They found out the truth in minutes not days...
I have seen you on another video...not getting css pov at all, maybe try rewatching again and see the characters as they are
hmm what did she do wrong. She looked around at the crime scene nothing special. If LBY thought it was dangerous. He would have sent a guard along with her to protect her. He would also told the guard not to leave her side no matter what. But he didn't. So you can conclude that even LBY didn't expect this. Also who would have thought there would be a hidden room. The only mistake SS made was opening the room without telling the others outside.
