Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.

After watching Love like the galaxy I ventured further into the projects that Zhao Lu Si has been in and I have nothing but respect admiration and love for this young woman. Some people are born to do this and she is one of those people. I have now watched Please be at easy Mr Ling and who rules the world and half way through Date in a kitchen. This young lady has perfect comedy timing plus with LLTG and WRTW she has also shown she is a serious actress and can produce some of the most heart breaking scenes the one where she cries after those awful women pushed her in the water was painful to listen to and yes I know it is only a TV show. Still I give respect to anyone who can act like that scenes can be emotionally depilating. This young woman elevates any scene she is in and any actor she is pared with. I have a few more to watch but make no mistake I will visit the others frequently
5Dating in the Kitchen is my favourite Cdrama, this is second. I've not watched a drama with the two main leads from love Like the Galaxy that was bad. I think they're both destined for huge careers.😊

Zisheng and Third Prince's understated bromance needs to be explored with a follow-up drama!
Third prince is so sensible as his mother consort Yue. Eventhough bromance between ling buyi and third prince is underrated, short but sweet. And emperor 👏, kicking gave by consort to that official 😂😘😘
Not so sensible. He thought Zisheng's crimes were imputable to Shaoshang. He was ready to blame her over his bosom buddy. That's his default option, blaming people.

@@umaymafatima4670 yeah. I think he had many kinds of prejudice in general, some of them against women. I think it was quite hypocritical of him, since he was such a critic of everyone else, to the point that he felt he himself was such a better choice to make emperor (pardon me as I roll my eyes).
Third prince and shaoshang a killer duo
EVERYTHING about this series was absolutely beautiful! I am having trouble moving on from it, nothing quite compares 🥰
The third price said “ Zisheng love you so much” 😩 broke my heart because ShaoShang doesn’t feel anything now

🌸 Yes she does….that’s the problem. He didn’t trust her enough to tell her what he was up too because he was trying to protect her and her family but it left her feeling betrayed.
If she didn’t care she wouldn’t have tried to clear his name. She could have let things run their course. Trouble is their emotions run deep and they are naturally stubborn. Neither seem to give an inch.

@@Phephe00 so when she didn't immediately report to him that she'd been bullied into the lake by the palace princesses she didn't trust him, but when he kept his life-shattering plans from her, went to execute his vengeance fully expecting to die right there, and didn't even give her a warning 2 days before the wedding, "he didn't want to implicate her"? Sure, he didn't want to implicate her. Neither did he trust her judgment, though. He decided on her behalf, after making her fall madly in love with him, that he would just leave her alone. That's not trust in any way.
@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 I think in his instances kind of hard to let go of a life long grudge of watching a man that slaughtered Your whole clan prosper. He had been planning this vengeance since he was a little boy and she just happened to come into the picture when he Fell madly in love with her at first sight and he Does love her,but there's just some things you not willing to let go. As for him being upset about her not telling him when the princesses were bullying her I think it's because he didn't want her to go through the same thing he went through because he was bullied when the Emperor first brought him to the palace.

Me too i watch 5x who rules the world and i downloaded it in my phone so that i can watch anytime i want but this LLG is much better than WRTW and i watch this LLG for 4x and planning to rewatch again if i will not be able to find another interesting drama like this one
I still can’t believe they delayed rescuing him till this time. It makes no sense to keep him there then let this drama play out and then rescue him even if he’s a criminal😅. He only survived bcoz he’s the ML of the story🤣

Ling got his revenge by killing his father’s assassin, and his cousins murder on behalf of his aunt. But someone else has to have pulled the strings. Someone with enough power to delay and hope for Ling’s demise. Someone still plots and sits back waiting and watching to see what unfolds. They have no idea that Ling survived they could be recovering his broken body instead. They’re just guessing and hoping he survived.
@@garnetdragon7120 you are right. But with how much the emperor cared for him delaying for just that doesnt match up. He has to have many trusted followers too for that job. Even to just retrieve his dead body, it shouldnt have been delayed till the point Shaoshang woke up.

Huo Wushang had a almond allergy that his cousin Ling Buyi did not have, so Ling Yi murdered his son on a case of mistaken identity & Huo Wushang was being taken care of by his aunt Huo who was Ling Yi's 1st wife.
The emperor lost it when he finds out.
He didn't murder him by accident. He left him and his mother in Gu City knowing that they'll die there so he was really surprised and glad that he survived that horror, what he didn't realize was that the child that came back wasn't his but his brother in law's child.

@@omayrab6599 Ling Yi Didn't realize that the mercenaries murdered his son instead of the general's son because they had switch clothes,and when they were little they resembled each others to the point that sometimes they would get them mistaken. Remember the part in the show where Buyi is allergic to apricots so Wu shang was picking them for him and ripped his shirt so they switched shirts that's how they mistook their identity
@@Phephe00 Ling Yi thought they were both death because Wushang and Junhua spent two years as beggars starving while trying to comeback to the capital.
Remember when Peng Kun came to take Ling Yi, he said "what about my son and wife?" and Peng Kun told him that there was no time to take them, so they left them there knowing that they'll end up dying. Wushang was lucky to survive by passing out in his father burning study and waking up later. We don't know about Junhua, but she probably played death or also hid.

that thread saved his life twice, first niao niao used it to pull the broken arrow point out of him and she gave it to him afterwards as a bracelet, now he is hanging on to it because it got caught on some branches. very poetic indeed.
What I love about this emperor is that unlike a lot of other emperors show in tv shows, he doesn't feel the need to appear disinterested or *above* what's going on to show emotional distance or 'strength' 🙄 . He is obviously shocked and trying to to piece everything together while also scared and worried for Zisheng on the cliff, but at no point does he care more about his appearance or mask as an emperor; anyone who is looking at him can tell he is *fully* emotionally invested, and I love that about him because it makes him feel more genuine and human to me.
I think part of it is that *he* fought hard to become the emperor himself rather than covert politics before being assigned the crown prince role before his fathers death after having to prove himself time and again against his brothers (as far as I remember from the plot of the show anyway) so he doesn't need the emotional distance to prove he's a good emperor, he has *shown* he's a good emperor by his *actions* time and again.
Amazing how flawless the older actors, skin is, man ,so beautiful 😍. Saying older with utmost respect. I am only talking about the women.ok.

I’m wondering how they know he’s alive. Like why didn’t anyone bring his body back sooner either to prison and death or to help? Otherwise I thought it would be to dangerous to send anyone and his body would be hidden or broken.
Tbh I don’t know either. This is just my guesses. There a chance that instead of falling all the way down the cliff and land on the very bottom. Which would have really killed him. He landed on rocks that is just a few feet off. Which mean his chances of living is higher. So it likely they send only one person down a bit to see. Then by that they was likely guessing his chance of alive or not.

They cut a lot of scenes in these later eps so there might be some explanation parts that got cut out, including why they know he didn’t die yet. The emperor cannot tell anyone to rescue him yet because the other officiants are arguing about killing him or not since he has committed the biggest sin and he’s now like a criminal to them, so leaving him at the cliff is reasonable to them since either he dies or not from the fall, he won’t be able to come back and that should be his punishment of committing many major crimes. That’s why the rescue is delayed until his action is cleared by Shaoshang and Third Prince’s defense.
it seems like an awful lot of work at a time when they didn't have helicopters. Especially if what awaited him was execution anyway. Actually, considering some of the penalties provided for in ancient times (tortures, dismemberment, torture before dismemberment etc.), leaving him to die in the snow might even have been lenient.

@@peachychoc7905 When the Emperor was introduced in ep 13 , Bu Yi was getting his arrow wound treated. His shirt was kind of open and the Emperor was looking on. I thought it didn't seem unlikely that there would be other times the Emperor could have seen his bare back.

I have a question that I don't know if someone can answer. We know he had Fei and Qi replace the Crown Prince's tiger seal with his own Huo tiger seal to protect Shaoshang. If he still had his tiger seals would he have been accused of misusing them and would the Crown Prince have been able to send Zhou with the men to kill Ling Buyi at the Ling Yi residence or at the cliff?
As far as I can remember, the crown prince's tiger seal was missing but ended up to the hand of Chengyang. But Ling Buyi got it back and kept it a secret so he can execute his plans.
@@ruthjanepablico Thanks for your help. I went back to episode 13 and rewatched 19:04-end. It tells of her making fake ones and Buyi had figured out in advance what she would do to protect Empress and Crown Prince from the stolen ones. She didn't realize, but he knew the seals were magnetic. He had Fei and Qi take his Huo's tiger seals to replace the fake ones. Protecting Shaoshang from the exposure of the fake ones cause Buyi didn't have time to find out who had the lost / stolen ones. They did a back flash of the situation that I missed. When he exposed Marquis Yue for his crimes, he took the real tiger seals back. He was waiting to use them for his own revenge needs and expose how inept the Crown Prince is...
when, afterwards, the emperor confronts Zisheng and the 3rd prince about it, he mentions that he found out about the replacement from before, but also that after that instance Zisheng recovered the true seal and then used it here to call on the army during his massacre of Ling Yi, and he only did that to implicate the Crown Prince.
