Synopsis:
Cheng Shao Shang is a young girl who was forced to grow up alone after most of her family had to leave to fight in a bloody war. Thus she becomes stubborn and untrusting. She fends for herself in a town populated by people like her, who have been left behind by the war.
One day, a talented and powerfu general named Ling Bu Yi comes to the town - and falls in love with her at first sight. He resolves to marry her, even though it will cause him no end of problems if he decides to pursue this union. Yes, these past episodes were a virtual roller coaster of emotions.
There's a much earlier scene that offers a clue about his true identity; he's addressing his mother while facing the three cenotaphs while his mother/aunt is snipping a plant. She answers him before squeezing a thorned branch and bleeding pulling his attention away from the cenotaph. I think 'Huo Bu Yi' was actually talking to his real mother via the cenotaph, not to his Aunt at first in that scene.
I Admire how Consort Yue and 3rd Prince defended Huo Buyi and the Kick she gave the official .... EPIC‼️‼️. Consort Yue knew that her brother even was a contributing factor to his Clans demise and that by allowing her brother to live was a courtesy from Huo Buyi to Her.
She is a bad ass🤣

🌸 It’s the first time he’s been able to say his own name out loud after all the traumatic events he’s had to endure. The Emperor was truly heartbroken over what he had just heard that the boy and his aunt had had to go through. 😮 WOW
This cast and the director have done a wonderful job with this series.
What I love about this episode is how pure the Emperor and everyone’s love is for Huo. Any other drama would have had everyone act betrayed or scandalized by his revelation. But his adopted parents love him despite his crimes, as do his friends at court.
I was just about to say the same thing. This emperor right here is like a father figure to Huo and normally emperors would be like "BOI IF U DON'T", but he didn't.
In fact, being Marquis Huo's son makes him even more beloved in the eyes of the emperor and his wives, especially consort Yue. The genuine friendship they had since youth is obvious in all their tales. As his son, he can continue the bloodline and restore the family name. And it makes so much sense, given how similar he is to his real father. And from everything else, we can assume they never really liked Ling Yi anyway.

Emperor and concubine Yue kicks were on spot.
This empire really loved the Huo's and were holding on to the bloodline with Ling Buyi. Finding out the Huo name could legitimately live on was overwhelming to everyone; like a miracle really. Even if Ling Buyi lived his life as a vagabond he would have still been given all the room to do so but he grew to be the god of war of their empire; and then they find he is actually Huo wushang... it's surprising Official Zuo can't see the writing on the wall and still chose to openly oppose him. I guess it was his time😆
Is anyone going to tell Zisheng that Niao Niao was the one who found the evidence from the temple? Would he ever know that even when she couldn’t forgive him, she still saved him?
Probably with his intelligent and his knowledge he knew that YSJ found the evidence had to be with Niao Niao guidance..because one time when ZS was talking to YSJ he said SS is a cold woman with the warm heart, she doesn't want to see the people she cares have any harm,she wants to see the people she cares doing well. So he must have known in his heart that SS the one helped him out and he knew only SS knows his identity, he told her after he killed Ling Yi that he is Huo Wu Shang☺

One of the best dramas I've ever watched and that also includes western dramas. It has everything you wish for in a drama. A fantastic love story, including humour and drama. Not forgetting a great soundtrack and best of all a fantastic cast who made the whole drama, from those with the smallest part to the stars of the show.. Zhao Luis was simply wonderful and I can't envisage any other actress playing the part of Shaoshang, and the fantastic Leo Wu who gets better and better every time I watch him. As the General he doesn't need to speak as his face conveys a thousand words. If you haven't watched LLTG then you must. You don't know what you're missing if you don't watch it. Love like the Galaxy.
1:00 Loved that scene where the Emperor is embracing Huo, and saying he’s sorry for coming so late, and you see a sort of relief on Huo’s face. So long he has waited for just someone to say his proper name.

Also, she's probably rewatching in her mind all those times Ling Buyi did something that looked like it was all about her, but was actually part of his masterplan of vengeance, and if you go on the road of hindsight you probably start second-guessing every single memory you have of when your heart was touched by something he did. Like, say, when he acted all worried about her with the Crown Prince, but in fact he was just scheming to get him deposed.

The birthmark should have been enough to clear his identity. The Emperor said the Huo WuShang had a specific birthmark, which he has.
It still doesn't prove that Ling Yi was guilty of what Buyi accuses him. Of course I despise the vermin running his mouth there, but it's true that Ling Buyi, or Huo Wushang, might have just had a grudge with Ling Yi for lots of reasons, including ignoring his family for the new wife, and just have decided to kill him for his own personal reasons; or maybe be a little crazy himself, or something like that. I mean, Zuo was certainly running his mouth and grasping at all excuses, but those excuses actually exist.
@@pirimpallopirimpalli4932 I just meant that his identity is in question. But if the Emperor knew and saw Huo WuShang’s birthmark as a child then Ling BuYi having the same identical birthmark should prove he is Huo WuShang and not Ling BuYi.
Everything else is just his word. A witness statement that current has no corroborating evidence.

Gotta love Third Prince here. There is no way the Crown Prince would have put any of this together, let alone had any idea how to discreetly research, investigate, obtain irrefutable evidence, and then enter the room with such definitive evidence and present it in a factual manner without a lot of fluff and unnecessary emotional whining to go along with it. Third Prince's natural sense of logic as well as his pursuit of justice and truth would make Crown Prince's head spin in confusion. If the Emperor doesn't recognize his error in his successor's delegation after all this, the nation after this emperor's reign is doomed. Crown Prince as named won't last a month.
ShanJian should have told the court that it was ShaoShang who investigated and got the clue to where to find the evidence. I want everyone to see how awesome she was. I want ZiSheng to feel even worse that he kept so much from SS and intended to abandon her. Yes, I'm petty like SS :).
They know her awesomeness when she saved him from the crime scene and in court. And when he heard his stepmother's involvement he knew Shaoshang had investigated.
Oh yeah, to tell the whole court that she is dangerous pawn and she would immediately be dealt with by some powerful people in the court who see her as a hindrance. Recognition and talent might be a blessing in current age, but in those times it was a curse to be talented and to be recognised.

@@Vovo-zx4ql I can understand that, but CSS is smart. She has proven her intelligence. Telling her the problem would have allowed another perspective to find something he over looked. Which is exactly what she did.
In investigating/ research often times people can get tunnel vision. It is always good to have different perspectives. Such as A-Fei; he often times unknowingly gives information which leads to a new path of investigating, such as the Lanterns. Even if Ling BuYi explained his problem as an hypothetical situation, it would have better then not.
I know he was trying to protect her, but by not asking for her perspective it was similar to insulting her intelligence. With in what 48hrs, she had figured out a line of inquiry which lead to the evidence he needed.
Which we see later is a lesson that he finally learned; to trust & believe in her.

I wonder if anyone can explain to me an odd detail I see in a lot of eastern Dramas.
Why is it that the Emperor is always such a fragile little flower? The princes are often stoic and strong but the emperor acts like the smallest shock might kill him! Is he just mugging for the officials like some kind of “look how much you hurt me with your words” thing? Is the Emperor supposed to be very old but played by a middle aged actor?
Coming from a background of more western media I am used to warrior kings who wouldn’t show weakness even when they are actively dying.
Is this just a quirk of modern c-dramas or is there a cultural element here?

Someone who "helped" the current emperor to power, but the man who switched out the military weapons at Gu City for crappy ones. Gu City could have held the position for days of they had proper equipment.

When you see the scene of the aunt with Huo, she looks up at the gates and screams a name. She quickly covers his face while crying, he looks through her hands and sees his entire family’s heads on pikes lined up in a row. And in place of him was his cousin, they were all killed to make sure no one can get revenge on the ones who did the deed.
Didn't SS had one more brother? The eldest one i guess. Was he never shown in the drama or did I miss it? Can anyone tell...

Yes she had an older first born brother who is married and posted at the border with his wife. Never shown on scene only mentioned in passing.
