Yep, that's our Midori. This is just an older video shot before her "ponytail" look.
Yeah Midori looked different way back then her look is more current with the blonde hair and she also back then had her hair down more often in the videos same thing for Shadowmaker video
Midori was under dental treatment by the time this video was filmed. She was wearing braces and her face was slightly swollen, so she and the crew chose to show her face as little as possible.

Very underrated song, still one of my favorites, SO empowering and uplifting. They make me feel so much better...about most anything, GLORY TO LOVEBITES and The Wolf Pack everywhere...WE ARE UNITED
They're about faith in *yourself* rather than religion. Glory To The World is about humanity recovering from the pandemic. It is NOT about religion. 🤦

You should try this "Rising" live at Zepp Diver City Tokyo 2020. You'll be surprised to see how smooth and quickly Miyako comes back to guitar from piano. She not only quickly flips back her guitar in the position but also she has to quickly switch mentally from piano to guitar which is very difficult. And also she had to switch the rhythm from waltz to power metal. She switches so smoothly that there is no time lug but usually you need a beat or two to switch. She was switching as if there isn't any change of instrument and rhythm....well naturally...she even plays both instrument simultaneously as you know.
I love Midori too, especially the blonde pony tail and the outfit with the gold fringes on the skirt hem in the newer video clips.
Gotta say, Jen, the Dragonforce comparison sells the girls short. Yes, DF are technically the benchmark, but Lovebites have better songwriting and are much more versatile. Take Dragonforce, add the songwriting of Iron Maiden and Metallica, add some Joe Satriani improvisation, the brutality of Black Sabbath, and make them look like models, and you have an approximation of Lovebites. Just sayin'
Don't forget the Helloween influence. The funny thing is: I was never a DF fan. Just something about them, never really hit me. But LOVEBITES on the other hand, is my #1 band right next to Symphony-X !!! So I never compare Lovebites to DF. To me, they are not even close to the same level.
That is Midori, she just had a different hairstyle at the time and dont freak out if you see her with black hair too, when the band formed she had long black hair!

Jen... For some reason, as soon as I saw the name “Love bites”, my mind was cast back to the classic Def Leppard hit of the same name but the music style is VERY different 💥🎸💥. I don’t know too many all girl groups who play this style of music but have to say I really enjoyed this 🤘😜🤘. Of course, seeing you again is always an added bonus 💖✊️😘💖

They named themselves after the Halestorm song "Love Bites (So Do I)", but given the type of music they play, the fact that the name makes people think of Def Leppard and (especially) Judas Priest makes it all the more relevant.

I love your reaction. Absolutely 💯. That was Midori before blonde ponytail Era. She had black hair just like Miyako on earlier MV like Shadowmaker. You can also tell by Midori by white custom ESP guitar and Miyako by brown custom Dean guitar. Rock on 🤘 and peace ✌.
First song I ever heard by them. Had mixed thoughts. Then I heard "Break the Wall". Have been a non stop fan ever since. Especially after I found out Miyako was a Classically trained Pianist. Haven't heard a bad song by them and don't ever expect to.

Try their song Scream for me, studio version. Same time they did Burden of time. In scream for me Midori and Miyako trade solos back and forth for minutes. In studio Asami has a funny reaction while their soloing. But yes that is Midori. This was filmed when Midori still had her hair down live. More recently, she’s had it in a ponytail. When Midori was at the Namm trade show in Anaheim, California, January 2020. She played in the Kemper amplifier booth. Midori uses Kemper profiler. You could Sit on floor a few feet in front of her while she played. She then chats, shakes hands, selfies, etc. very freindly person.

That's Midori. The video was shot in at least two sessions. The session on the cliffs was shot before the studio part. I've heard that she had a little work done on her face around that time, so she may not have wanted a lot of direct face shots. Just a possibility, but this is the exact time frame when she completely changed her look.
What work done one her face ? I think the only thing she had was a different haircut, and at that time she was with another band so maybe she just didn't want to stand out a lot.
Yeah, that is the rumor. Honestly, they don't need to do that. They were always beautiful and perfect. They don't need make-up, clothes, or surgery to be beautiful. They are naturally beautiful! We would love them just the same. But we understand they have a professional "image", and they try to be consistent with it. Nothing wrong with that, we really like the pretty princess dresses they wear! It's unique, something no other metal band does! We will always support them, no matter what they choose to do. Wolfpack for life!

This is an older video... and notice... it is on the NUCLEAR BLAST channel. Which makes me wonder, if they were trying to partner with a USA label for promotion and distribution. Too bad it didn't officially happen. GREAT video, GREAT song, we LOVE it! Wolfpack united!

Oh man I’m indecisive if I like Midori’s hair down and strait like in this video or if I like her wavy hair /ponytail current look. 🤔. She slays the guitar in any case for sure. I think my favorite is Miyako ... she is a beast on guitar and she slays the piano as well. Her playing style is so smooth and soulful. But it’s such a treat to hear both her and Midori play together. Is there a better guitar duo in a band out there ? The gals from Nemophila are the only ones I can think of that may challenge them ..

When you get around to Shadowmaker you will see Midori with Jet Black hair, honestly, Shadowmaker might have Midori's best solo which is pretty incredible considering she has some absolutely insane solos.

I got the Dragonforce vibe the 1st time I heard them! I love Lovebites! Speaking of Dragonforce there is another Japanese female metal band I saw you did a reaction video for,Nemophila.Their guitarist Saki (who is also in another fantastic female Metal band from Japan,Mary's Blood) also is in a band with Fredric Leclerq Dragonforce's former Bass player.It's called AMAHIRU.Check them out they are great too!
As others have commented, Midori, used to have dark hair that has changed style and colour to the bleached blond look, you are used to seeing. In addition, in earlier live shows Miyako, used to be far more animated. I think both changes happened at the same time and were deliberate rather than an organic change. My view is that I much prefer Midori's earlier look.
I too, she was less tanned too, but well, shes beaultiful anyways. xD
No dragon force vibes here in fact they are so much better than dragon force, even the guys found that out and have huge respect for these gorgeous ladies. They are top notch and can blow any band off stage, Miyako and Midori will embarrass any and all male guitarist out there, Miho and Haruna can out play any bassist and drummer, Asami and her glorious voice sings to any style of rock or metal, their Desnities were aligned and are Rising to Break the Wall and bring down The Hammer of Wrath

All five members of Lovebites are superfans of Helloween, who pretty much invented Power Metal, so some of their songs really reflect that influence, and this is one of them. It's not really a DragonForce thing, although DragonForce (and every Power Metal band) are also heavily influenced by bands like Helloween, so there's that. I'm not a DragonForce fan, and Lovebites are my favourite band, so I always find the comparison a bit weird, but you're not the first person to make it and you won't be the last.
Yes, I hear more Helloween influence in their music, than DragonForce.
@@TheCyberMantis Yeah, I think it's an American thing. Power Metal never really took off in the US the way it did in Europe, Japan, Brazil, etc. Helloween and bands like Blind Guardian are way more popular and influential in Japan than DragonForce. But in the States, people know DragonForce from Guitar Hero, so when a lot of Americans hear bands that are influenced by the classic Power Metal bands from 30+ years ago, they immediately think "DragonForce".
@@satomiwa I noticed that Lovebites is more popular in UK and Europe than US. Some people from US seem to prefer Band Maid than Lovebites. I remember some US people said "Lovebites music it's just fast and fast without feeling".. wtf it's power metal

Well, troll, she has zero background in heavy metal and didn't know who Iron Maiden or Bruce Dickinson were. Her background is R&B and Gospel. She auditioned for Lovebites, and after they picked her, she offered to try to sing more "metal", and the other four told her not to, to sing the way she normally sings, and that's what she does. But you're accidentally right in a way, even though you meant it as an insult, because her vocal style IS reminiscent of Bruce's.
