Hell of a team effort they adjusted and played their board and down low game to a T. Perron is so underrated, and how about O'Reilly fighting off so many checks. Blues have a real shot here playing like that.

В Блюз наших больше, но в Лавинах тоже Большой Вэл "Ньчьюшкин", парень вкалывал как черт, был сезон почти без голов, но преодолел, перетерпел, вышел на хороший уровень, тоже за него болеем.

Anemic. That is the only word I can think to describe the Colorado Avalanche’s performance this evening. This loss is a wakeup call because their defense and forechecking was so soft that I thought it was the Colorado Eagles on the ice. The Blues are not the Predators. They are not going to let Mackinnon and Makar roam free. Stop trying to cheat on offense. Learn to respect your opponent, Colorado. You’re not fooling anyone with your hits stat. Those are empty padded calories that try to compensate for your lack of focus and execution.
They forgot how to pass the puck overnight. Their puck management was brutal especially from Girard and E. Johnson. I saw no aggression on both ends of the ice. I did not see anyone going in front of the net and causing any trouble to Binnington. I did not feel a single shred of playoff presence from the Avalanche. Their attitude, play style, and body language screamed regular season play as if they were on a back to back game. You want to get the demons of the second round off your back? Then play with some damn urgency and passion. The fans who paid to see you play deserved better than seeing frauds who decided to take the night off.
Bednar better change the lineup because I am seeing a lot of players getting too comfortable. Girard and E.Johnson has to go. Bring in Murray and J.Johnson. Call up Newhook and O’Connor while scratching Helm and Sturm. The Avs need fresh legs who are hungry to make an impact in the series. Never believe that you’re ahead even if the stats say otherwise. Always play as if you’re behind.
TL;DR. You could just say your team is TRASH and in Game 1, needed OVERTIME to beat my squad...
Slow down bud. First loss in the playoffs. You won't win them all, but I'll agree about Girard...he's always been a liability in the playoffs.

calls were 50/50 calls for both sides, but, blues played the better game. next game we go.
nah the goalie interference call leading to a 5 on 3 and a goal was absolutely brutal. one of the worst calls ive seen in a while.

The mighty Avs who are paper champs every season, yet haven't gotten past the second round since 2002 when Roy, Sakic and Forsberg played.
Avalanche once had o'reilly, matt ducene, landeskog, rantanen, mackinnon in a same team and they went nowhere.
Well, to be fair, they aren't champs of anything. So 'paper champs'? Not so much.
I mean. Neither did St Louis until 2019. Capitals were the same way. And the Avs missed the playoffs all but twice from 2008 to 2018. They've only been to the playoffs three times in the last like 5 years. It took the Capitals 8 years of second round exits before they won the Cup. Heck the Lighting had issues as well until they broke through (albeit in a shortened season).

@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants they showed it on the replay on TV. The hook was well before what you see here. Perron hooked...I think MacKinnon as he entered the zone. Not a big hook at all and in previous years..non call. But this year refs calling a lot more.

Yes, grinding the opposite team to the point where they become frustrated with not only with you but more importantly, with themselves.
It's the "doing the little things" that always throws you off your game because all if sudden you finding out there's no opening

Yes, gun & run hockey is pretty to the eye but once you take away that initial space for gaining the speed, it becomes hard and grinding game that players of McDavid and many others really, really don't like to play.
Blues came close in game 1 already, and they know what it takes. Their team is built for postseason grind, and if they keep doing what they're doing, we might see grand SC final against TB.
That, in my opinion, would be best finals in very, very long time.

@@timetowakeup6302 I will say, the Capitals did the same thing for 8 season before winning the cup. And, honestly, the Avs have really only had a handful of playoff appearances since 2008. The last three years have been consistent. And heck. Tampa Bay didn't even make the playoffs for like 10 years before they won their first cup in 03 and had a bunch of first round exits before winning the cup. Sometimes, it just takes a few seasons to get over that hump.
I agree people are pretty dumb. Was no way the Blues would have got swept. This is the second round of the best hockey in the world.

Which game did you watch? If it wasn't for kuemper, this game would've been 7 -1. The blues could've scored 4 in first period alone.

So as I see it, who ever shows up is going to win. Who will grind the furthest. Binnington is playing great. Avs goalie is a bit weak if you get shots on. Avs are fast as hell. I can’t take this stress! Go Blues!
Eh not really. He really isn't. He blocked a fair amount of shots that were on goal. He really only got beat cleanly once. The other two were bad luck bounces off of his own team

I'm really glad the blues players all showed up today instead of putting traffic cones on the ice like they did for game 1. Still not super crisp with their passes but maybe not being on the ice for game 1 made them a little rusty.

Наверное потому что Нхл играет в американский хоккей, а наши в русский и отличия между ними есть. Потому и смотрибельность нашего хоккея ниже, но уровень игроков такой же.

@@smallmutagen3338 Все (90%) наших игроков в Нхл это ребята из КХЛ и они почти все звезды своих клубов... есть и те кто не может зацепиться, но это потому что слишком рано поверили в себя и поехали туда (за океан) полусырыми еще и не смогли удержаться из за высокой конкуренции(но таких не много).

Это НХЛ корпорация и высасывает все европейские лиги, включая КХЛ, а не КХЛ выкачивает из всего мира..
Из иностранцев в КХЛ едут отбросы и неудачники, не смогшие в НХЛ играть. Естественно, уровень игроков, тренеров и организации разный.

They just got unlucky with some crossbars and posts. I thought the Blues were dead in the water after failing to steal that game. Now the Avs fans are acting like I was 2 days ago. LOL.
@@dang6812 Avalanche grossly outplayed St Louis in game 1. Binnington was the only player that made that game close. Colorado was caving them in the entire game.

The second period gave me MASSIVE GOOSEBUMPS !!!!! First, Jordan Kyrou, the 24-year-old from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, gets the offense rolling with a MASSIVE goal. Big stick taps go to Ryan O'Reilly and Pavel Andreyevich Buchnevich for the assists on that one.
