- Robert Thomas scored a pair of goals and Tyler Bozak buried the overtime winner as the St. Louis Blues overcame a three-goal deficit to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 5-4 extending the second-round playoff series to a Game 6.

As someone who grew up without a lot of ice around and mostly played/watched basketball, I don’t know how anyone could watch the two games tonight and think the NBA has the superior product.
There is NOTHING like playoff hockey.

The range of emotions I’ve felt tonight as a blues fan. Great job to Mackinnon and to all the blues.
In fairness to the Blues, MacKinnon seemed to be the only one for the Avs to show up tonight. The Avs Defense was lousy in the third and OT. All credit goes to the Blues, because they could've hung it up.

In simple terms, the whole Blues team showed up, while only half the Avs showed up. They earned the win.

The way they seemed to be flying the Avs (I've only seen the highlights) must have looked certain winners, even before it was 3-0. And then the gut punch from the stunning Mackinnon with 2 odd minutes left.

Wow, what an incredible comeback! Down 3-0 in the second period, down 3-1 in the third, down 4-3 with less than three minutes left, tied up with 56 seconds left, an then win in overtime. Unbelievable!
I’m a huge Blues fan. Didn’t miss a game all season… After that win last night I’m proud, happy and content. I have only respect for this team no matter what happens. Mack’s coat to coast goal was on another level. ✊🏽 I still can’t believe we’re goin to game 6! LGB

Game of the playoffs so far IMO. Highlight reel goal from MacKinnon, only to be answered by the Blues refusal to lose and showing the resolve of champions. I think the Blues ride this momentum and take game 6, but I'm still taking the Avs to ultimately prevail in 7. What a series.

Blues fan here...I was at work when this game was on and my heart sunk when the Avs kept scoring to get up 3-0. I was resigned to the season being over and a bit sad for my team. Thinking how it might have been different if Binny hadn't gotten hurt. But then the turnaround and epic comeback..what a great game. So proud of my team tonight. Gotta say that extra rest to clear the hats helped us out for sure..too bad bc McKinnon was a warrior. What a GAME!

Underrated play of the game in my eyes: Is right before the pressure that produced Bozak's game winner, there was a shot that if it wasn't blocked by Bortuzzo, puck goes into the net and this series is over. Gg to Mr. Puck deflector man
I haven't seen bortuzzo make any insane plays yet this series but that one moment just saved our playoff run

I think that MacKinnon goal being the hat trick goal was one of the reasons the Avs threw that game. Like the Blues had almost 10 minutes to regroup while all the hats were being taken off the ice. If that's not a hatty the play just starts 20 seconds later and there's full momentum for the Avs
True and a timeout after that, playing right after that goal is a lot for most teams to handle

Reminds me of a game between Sweden and Finland a long time ago. Sweden being down 5-1 I believe it was, came back and won 6-5. Still remember The look on Mats Sundins face after that game winning goal was priceless! Forgive my rambling..

Man what a gritty effort by STL. At first I was wondering if there was going to be ANY highlights of them on offense but man did they snatch this victory. Its cool that its a competitive series it's good for hockey

If they choke this it would be so similar to last years Leafs choke. 3-1 lead and lose game 5 and 6 in overtime. This was even worse than the Leafs game 5 loss though... oh boy.

I am used to watching winning teams in subsequent rounds after the inevitable foul up by Dubas’ group he assembled, great team on paper but ole Kyle forgot playoffs are a different level.

Especially after they stole Tavares goal in game 7 and gave Tampa a powerplay, they could've fallen apart but instead they kept playing well and tied it. Tampa is just a really good team, I think that goes without saying. They'll break through eventually, it took Tampa over 10 years of Stamkos and Hedman before they won, it took the Caps over 10 years. It took Yzerman and the Red Wings forever, they were known as chokers until they became a dynasty.

And Dubas builds an offensive minded team yet only scored 3 goals in last 4 game 7’s ( game 5 2020 CBJ). I truly wonder if the scar tissue built up year after year of losing will be too much to overcome. They are human beings and when another critical spot arises next spring they have no happy thoughts to think back on ( unlike TB they will be confident because they have overcame deficits in the very near past.

Wow. I wish I could have stayed up to see this one. Already in the best games of all time list. 3-0 up at home, and Mackinnon playing lights out, I have to credit the Blues for having a lot of backbone.
As crazy as the Mackinnon hat trick goal was it actually was helpful for the Blues basically gave them a free timeout to clear the ice from the hats.
