    Personally prefer the Civic Type R for the seats, gauge cluster and looks. I don't care so much for interior luxuries. I am considering picking one up for a practical daily I can transport my family around(with a 3 year old daughter). I looked a G80 M3 and G87 M2 and I wanted to love them, but as track capable as they are, the daily driving experience was too numb/disconnected/isolated and manual was just not enjoyable.

      Same. I ended up getting a de5 because some of the dealers drop certain colors under MSRP. I've learned to love it. Comfort mode makes it like an is350

      Right there with you. I also cross-shopped with the bimmers but at the end of the day the FL5 just felt more “special.” Chose it over the ITS because I preferred the interior that reminded me of some of the classic Hondas that I grew up with and I simply NEEDED that +R gauge cluster. lol

    Shopped this price bracket myself and I ended up going Golf R after renting one in Germany. The main factors that led to this decision were- AWD (huge value in the PNW), the EA888 engine (a known entity- continuous revisions starting in 2012), exterior styling preference, and better material quality. The real MVP is the adaptive suspension in ALL of these hot hatches- after a stressful shift at work, comfort mode just transforms the car and takes care of you.

    I love the look of the ITS but nearly 60k after taxes and fees is a hard pill to swallow for a car that doesn’t even offer a heated steering wheel as standard (yes, there’s an up charge for that).
    I bought my FK8 for 37k (MSRP) so about 40k OTD. I can’t justify an additional 20k for what is, at its core, nearly the same car.
    I love the improvements. I’d happily upgrade…but I think Acura is crazy asking that much. I get it, all prices have inflated. But crossing into 60k opens up other options. From RWD muscle to AWD luxury…not sure a FWD is what I’d chose to spend that money on…

    FL5 would have been my pick before I drove it and realized how pogo like it is on canyon roads. The video captures that perfectly, Not a fan of the Integra's design and lines (esp rear lights/look), does look better in person though.

      Yeah, a lot easier than it is than it is to give the CTR the ITS suspension and exhaust

    I know this might sound not reasonable in terms of what these cars are intended for but I wish they had an automatic option, there are people out here we don’t like manual shifters 😆

      True and ironically a proper automatic can shift faster than most manual drives.

    Personally, in my early 30s. I feel too old for the Type R now. It looks like a toy and like something you would drive in your mid 20s. I'd rather drive the Integra Type S, but it's too expensive. Might as well jump into something more upscale, faster, and roomier. That is, for the same price or less. It looks nice though.

    • @bj10jgo
      @bj10jgo Před 7 měsíci

      I understand your point. The only thing that makes the FL5 a toy is the spoiler. If it was normal spoiler, it wouln't look so juvenile but at least its not as bad as the FK8. You mentioned, you would jump into more upscale, faster and roomier, what car would you get and compare for that price point along with a good quality brand?

    • @victorandrade7940
      @victorandrade7940 Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@bj10jgo I would get a BMW 340i, Audi S3, possibly VW Golf R / GTI. Used ATSV / CTSV. Yes, they might be less reliable compared to the CTR or Type S. "Possibly". But if they can make it past 150k without any "major" issues. It's not really an issue if you can afford one to begin with. I don't think most people keep their cars long enough anymore anyway to experience reliability issues. If they do, they can usually afford it too. I trust Toyota and Honda over other brands. If I were keeping a car long term and was a commuter. I wouldn't pick these cars anyway.

    Both overpriced and lacking features. I'd rather get an m240i, golf R, or a Camaro SS.

    • @Marbind
      @Marbind Před 7 měsíci +4

      Those are great cars but lets do a more apple to apple comparison.
      The m240i RWD costs more when you add the features that comes standard in the ITS (premium audio, sport tires, active cruise control, wireless charging). Rear seats are a joke. Not a car for someone with family.
      Camaro SS 1LE awesome price and performance. Nothing bad to say other than the rear seating problem.
      Golf R - Another pretty fast car but tiny. Has usable rear seats. The cargo limits the usability. Can't take the family in the car to buy groceries without worrying that everything will fit in the trunk.
      All three are good option and in reality all depends on the needs.
      The ITS isn't perfect but check all the boxes as a vehicle with decent usability. When you start adding check marks for thins you want the price will go up.
      For example the S3 is bigger than the Golf R but more expensive than the ITS when you match features.
      The Camaro SS 1LE larger brother that perform similar CT4 BW costs more than the ITS when you match features.
      Same with the M340i that is similar in size to the ITS, costs more when you add standard stuff that comes with the Acura.
      All these without considering the fact that after a german car loses the warranty. Costs go to the roof.
      I don't believe is overpriced is just that people aren't seeing all the offerings beyond plain 0-60 metrics.

      @israela8667 Před 7 měsíci

      @Marbind well said. The ITS is a bit expensive, but like you said, for what you get compared to the other cars makes the price somewhat justifiable. Plus, for someone like me who likes to work on my own car, the ITS/ITR would definitely be much easier and less expensive to work on. Unfortunately, it's the time we're living in.
