- Have you ever wondered how vehicle manufacturers get from simulations to a production vehicle that meets their targets? That could be a years-long process of testing and iterations. The Rimac C_Two is undergoing an intensive prototype testing program on proving grounds worldwide ahead of the start of production in 2021. We decided to take you behind the scenes of hypercar development and show you all major aspects of this program. In today's episode - the mechanics of track testing.
This time around, the Mondays with Mate episode is based on a winning question from the previous one - one of our fans was interested in everything regarding track testing, and we decided to take you through it, step by step. Our Head of Powertrain and Electrical Architecture, Matija Renić, joined Mate to discuss track testing and real-time data analysis via Rimac M2M.

Misha, I would love your opinion but assume you likely wouldn't openly share your opinion of a potential Rimac C2 time around the Nurburgring. Spec wise the car should beat the Nio EP9 at which point it should be competing for fastest production car... I would love for that to be the case but I just feel like I'm missing something that will prevent that? For one I hope Rimac can have sufficient and reliable cooling for 2 or even 1 lap though based on Taycan, Model 3, and EP9 (with reduced power mode) experience to date it will be tough...

People don't realize, but we are watching the formation of the new leader in EV sportscars & hypercars. Ferrari, Lamborghini & Mclaren are starting to be replaced.
If Mate was british, he would get a knighthood for what he is doing. Hope he gets bigger than tesla

However he very well could be the catalyst towards making other boutique brands switch over to bev faster.
Allegedly bugati is going electric. Porsche increased their stake in rimac to over 20% recently. The pinninfarina batista is using the c2 chassis, powertrain&battery combo.
Also koeneseig is using his stuff. Plus hyundai&Kia. Plus as he recently revealed in nico rosbergs vid. Several other European manufacturer's have exclusive projects with them ongoing.
So I wouldn't be surprised to see rimac survive, thrive and carve out a very lucrative niche for themselves.

Question
With all the telemetry data of the car being uploaded on cloud and then being streamed directly at Rimac's HQ, that can potentially open doors to hackers trying to access the data.
How important is it have robust data security builtin to electric cars and the entire data pipeline?
What measures have Rimac taken to tackle this challenge in particular?

I got one question, through these tests if you guys found an issue with a component or sensor which needs to be replaced, how this will reflect on the process which is already going on in the production since you guys may have already decided on that part/sensor previously. will the latest test result, results in repetitive iteration for the production/manufacturing procedure.

That was great! Few questions here: 1. What is an average safety factor you are calculating with, when developing key performance parts? 2. Since I believe that new Rimac will support occasional software updates that could affect performance improvements, I am interested in whether those updates are, in general, mainly based on algorithm improvements(purely software update) or upgrades can also be achieved using physical/mechanical space for improvement that safety factors allows?

Question: With only about 600 employees to design a full state-of-the-art vehicle, are your new recruits trained upon arrival at Rimac, chosen with sufficient qualifications or does the team learn by doing?

That's a lot!!
They used to take people straight after college and educate them directly cause in croatia they were the only source of info. Nowadays just a single glance on the hiring page, every position requires multiple years of experience in car related jobs. They are big enough that people are leaving high paying jobs in big companies to work for less at rimac which in return makes it basically imposible for a 20sthing year old to start working there after college and learn how to do the job while doing the job. Best option now is to apply at one of the big guys like bmw, vw...and when you get some experience, then apply for a job at rimac.
Question:
1. Do you use other types or qualities of fluids in the C_2 or is there a good solution for coolant- and brakefluids that are already market- and highperformance- approved?
2. If you use bespoke fluids in the C_2, do you develope them yourself in the company or do you have specific Partners like F1 teams have?
This car has so many different process running all the time, how do you secure the safety of the system? Is there a redundant system for main tasks?
Can you make a video about the CAD development for the car. Which softwares do you use and how many people are working in the departments. And how long it takes to develop new parts to the testing and about the testing at all do you test just in the prototype car or do you test also at test benches?
Could you do a break down on efficiency of your inverter, motor and battery. I'm interested in your numbers (as a percentage) under power and what you can achieve under regen braking :)

Another great video - I have a question about working with the other OEM's. Do you firewall projects for different (potentially competing OEM's) so that they do not fear information being passed around or are they happy to exchange information / technology amongst the customers for mutual benefit ?

Is Rimac actively investing in balancing their CO2 emissions as a company or invested in solar power or other nature friendly methods for the company and factory?
Since you are testing autonomus driving, will C-two be autonomus and when will autonomus cars be able to drive in europe?
What are chances of car CPU crashing (like PC does) during autonomus drive?
How can you increase the downforce so that the Rimac Concept 2 can take turn at higher speeds?
How did you do all of the software and how long did it take to pick a design and actually finalise it? So the infotainment system, apps for the owners of the cars, your real-time data tracking, etc.. It's first time in Croatia and very close to RIMAC!!! Also the Adriatic coastline is beautiful,with twisty roads,from GROBNIK down to Dalmatia and Dubrovnik(also known as GOT KingsLanding)!! Plus over 1200 Islands around like: Korcula,Hvar,Brac,Krk,Pag(where Car comp. do their promo.,Grand Tour ep.,and it looks like MARS)!! 👽👽👍

Već imaju par ideja kak riješiti problem s kamenčićima, ovo je samo prototype. A kaj se tiče masovne proizvodnje, Rimac proizvodi tehnologiju, ne aute. Auti su tu da pokažu kaj ta tehnologija može napravit.
