  • Today on SPPTV, Mike continues progress on his Winter Beater project! This will be one of, if not the LAST video working on his 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4 project truck. At the beginning the repair list was long, but now all that is left is a minor cab corner repair. Only problem is it involves taking half the truck apart! Struggle Street.
Most truck boxes are secured to the trucks frame the same way I assume. At least all GM ones I have worked on have been. So if your looking to pull your box for whatever kind of repair you may need to do, this tutorial may give you some inside knowledge before you even turn a wrench.
In tomorrow's video we will be taking apart the Sh!thorses original 6.0 Junkyard LS engine. So make sure to check the channel for that tomorrow!
    Thanks for Watching!

Hey Mike, no need to pull the filler neck out, undo your 3, 7mm screws, the connectors for the taillights, have a couple guys lift the box up and rest the front on top of the tires, and the back on the bumper. Works mint. Do it all the time for fuel pumps.

I’m doing this on my OBS right now and the bumper was such a pain to take off. I’m working on the hitch receiver right now and I snapped all the welded nuts on top I’m hoping my box will be easier LOL.

Use a jack and a couple 2x4 wood to lift the box and slide back

Mike what if you were to lift the box high enough to do the repair? Maybe get the boys over to lift it and set up some blocks on the frame

Just jack it up out of the way ,Canadian cars rust faster then a sneeze you are lucky the bolts came out of the box. mop and glow the cab corner back on it will out last the rest of the truck.
