China either translates literally word for word or just does away with the English title and gives it a brand new one 😂
Translate it according to its pronunciation, or translate it according to its meaning, or create a Chinese style name with similar meaning, the last one is the most technical.

Korean with a Japanese accent sounds very much like japanese since it’s from the same language family.
@@anas-432 In fact, there's no evidence that Japanese and Korean are the same language family. Unlike german-english relationship, there are many differences in basic vocabulary between Korean and Japanese.

Some inputs as a Chinese 😂 (for those who want to know since Jane mentioned she’s unfamiliar with animations in Chinese):
1. 0:58 Alice in Wonderland is actually known as 爱丽丝梦游仙境 which literally translates to something like “Alice wandering in a fairy land in her dream” instead of what Jane said which translates to “weird country Alice” 😂
2. 2:29 / 2:43 I’ve heard people referring to Elsa as 艾莎 (ai Sha) also (sometimes 艾莎女王 (ai sha nv wang) which means queen elsa) but rarely as “ai er sha”
3. 2:52 Shrek is called 史莱克(shi lai ke) if I remember correctly

In French, it's Beauty in the sleeping wood. Similar enough :)

She's wrong. In China, Movie"Alice in Wonderland" translated《爱丽丝梦游仙境》（Alice dream tour in wonderland）.

Wow I am surprised that the chinese name for "Arielle the Mermaid" sounds so kind a familiar to me😮 I didn't expect that honestly. She says: " Merieny u" and in germany we say: "Meerjungfrau" = mermaid. There are some similarities
And the second part of them japanese name Mermaid is kind of similar to english/french

Its people that is trying to impose their political judgement on Chinese people would think they feel awkward about it. This is a healthy video talking about translation of cartoon/animation names. There's nothing to be awkward about.
I'I'd love to hear the Korean meanings explained more too but I understand they all are Korean speakers so it's not necessary :)
