my favorite part was where I was missing half the bolts to take it apart
I finally figured where the blasted noise maker was for the headlights, seatbelts and all that good stuff. Turns out its INSIDE the gauge cluster. I removed it all and found the annoying noise maker and took it off the circuit board. What a relief, no more dinging!! This was on my 06 Ranger. The rest of this video is definetly helpful. If I was him though, I would have eliminated the dinger. On mine though, I was having issues with the door open alarm. I went and bypassed all the door switches and it STILL dinged. Drove me nuts. Not anymore!!
Thanks for the vid. And Thanks a bleeping lot to the Ford Motor Company for the totally unnecessarily jacked-up design (and I've got an Explorer that's that way, too)
You're welcome! +Dixie Champagne
Putting the gear range selector requires some patience
This video is on an '01 Ranger. The 1993 has a speedometer cable. This '01 does not. It appears from the ease of the cluster removal after the screws are removed, that this particular truck does not have a speedometer cable connected to the cluster. That, my friend, is a pig of a job. there is very little space, very little give in moving the cluster to allow getting into the back to pinch the little white connectors to release the cable. Some have taken to disconnecting the cable under the truck allowing a little more slack to let the cluster move away from the dash. I have yet to find a video on easily disconnecting the cable on the '93 and earlier. Any volunteers?
Thanks! this helped me change the broken odometer worm gear and replace the bulbs in my '96 ranger
where did you get gears
That's what I'm working on is a 96
You should add that you should remove fuse #11. I wound up blowing that fuse during reassembly.
Or disconnect the battery like repair manual says.
David Greer what does that fuse control?
Good to know that risk is involved. My dumb self would have forgotten to disconnect the battery thank you for the warning!
well done, I know exactly how to do my 2001, just one step at a time again well done

I looking for a 93 video
Thx. I fix odometer tooday 😉😉😉
thank you for this video, I think it will be close enough to my 2010 ranger to make due
Thank you! Bought a 96 ranger and the odometer stopped working the next week!! No more check engine light :)
When replacing. What about the odometer, how would you change it to the current mileage ?
Not the same as a 93 Ford Ranger so this is the wrong information thank you very much!
+Kenny Phelps Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
Good work..now i know what to do with mine..thanks a lot 👍
nice video, as always , but definity more work than needed for a 1994 model.
the title states for 93-03 ranger but I have a 94 ranger and this is a completely different panel
Any chance you found d a better tutorial? 94 ranger here too
Thanks. Yours is the only video I found on this that shows removing the shift indicator. This is where I got stuck after looking at 3 or 4 other videos. However another a1 video on the same subject with this does not mention this. I think it was one about changing cluster bulbs.
+Michael Fitzgerald Thank you!
Thank you, your videos have always been very helpful
Thank you! This was really helpful!
Thanks your video was a very big help !!!!
I have a 1994 Ranger and the dash doesn’t look like this at all.
The dash on a 1993 Ranger is completely different than this one. I'm having trouble getting the instrument cluster out of my 93 Splash. I can't get it out far enough to reach behind and remove the speedometer cable and the two connecters that are attached to it. Any suggestions how I can get it out far enough or is there a different way to do it on a 1993?.
John White any success? I am trying to get the face off my 94 splash
its the speedometer cable unclip it from the trans and you can pull it out a few more inches still gotta reach your hand behind it
don't be shy with it. just give it a good pull and it will move out a couple more inches and the cable can be removed with pliers.
Gracias..... Justo lo que necesitaba ver.

Thanks, that covers most of "my question", good video.
I’m trying to hydro dip this and have had many of these apart so just wondering what tips y’all had. Great vid tho love watching car vids
Could you put the link to find the cluster at 1Aauto
There's huge difference between 1993 and 2003 ...this is not the process on the 94
As usual 1A Auto has great videos, but maybe you should disconnect the battery before working on this type of repair.
@ed kay Would be stupid if you didn’t!
If you disconnect the battery you can damage your electronics even more than if you didn’t
Thanks..i replaced 08 ranger gear indicator by using this video..easy..aloha!!

..just excellent !
1A Auto. Got it!!!
Great video, thanks
I have a 1996 Ford Ranger and the instrument cluster plane works excep the temp gauge do I have to replace the whole cluster. The gauge sensor and sending unit has been changed except the eng light still is on. Mechanic said everything is working properly.
I unplugged my cluster when fixing a different part and everything worked. When I plugged it back in the tachometer doesn’t work. Any advice?
The main connectors that plug into the back of it may have a bad connection. Clean the terminals then try again.
Can you also remove and replace the glass on the cluster or would you need a new gauge cluster?
I work on these vehicles sometimes I beleive the gauges are sealed to prevent moisture and fogging so you would need a new set or a expert to redo that.
what about the millage of the vehicle?
Could ford have made it any harder ? I replaced the cluster in a 91 cougar and that very simple .
Hi guys how are you? Ok here.
Anyways I broke the shift indicator cable on my '07 Ranger, do you have a video showing replacement? I see here on the gauge cluster removal & installation helpful, but not showing anything else. Also I'm understanding that the cable assembly comes as a whole unit from indicator gauge to the cable loop /snare to shift lever.
Any help would b appreciated ..
Thanks, Rob
Well what do I do if it’s a 2010 ranger am I screwed?
I have a 98 ranger I put on two alternators battery light comes on when the switch is off and key removed goes off when the truck is running
CHEEZE!!! 1/2 the dash comes apart?!
Days are long gone when just 6 screws removed the whole dash cluster. 8(
I need one for a 93 ford ranger
On a 95 ranger, does a replacement instrument cluster have to be programmed?
If I get a replacement part from a junk yard and install it,
is there an immobilizer that will prevent the truck from starting?
Everything went back fine however I am having speedometer issues after placing everything back in place. I tried a few solutions and am now having speedometer issues. Any fix ideas?
02:14, if you really wanted to could you use a small hole saw through the radio bezel to remove that one hidden 7mm screw behind, instead of removing the entire bezel? You could easily plug the hole in the bezel with a factory type plug.
Will the mileage from the current truck if i took a gauge cluster out of a different truck or will the mileage be of of the other truck cause I want to change mine out for a rpm gauge cluster
You can take the odometer out of your cluster & swap it to the new one. Or just find a junkyard or eBay cluster with around the same miles as yours & don’t worry about it.
Your truck will crank but not start because of immobilizer.
I’m looking on your website for bulbs for instrument cluster and u don’t have any for my 2006 Mazda b3000 or Ford ranger. I would love all the bulbs in instrument cluster replaced
+Lisa Tamez Thanks for watching! We do not offer the replacement bulbs for your instrument cluster at this time. Please check back with us in the future as we are always adding parts to our inventory!
#194 bulbs. Go led. Much better.
I just bought 20 clear on ebay for $2.50.
would this be the same in a 2006 mazda b3000? also i went to your website for lightbulbs replacements for the instrument panel cluster , and there was none for my truck.
I'm going to guess Yes, don't have my repair manual handy right now, but for those years the book is for both (mine's a 2000)
Where can I find the gear range selecter?
in my 02 it looks exactly the same but the cluster panel is connected to the dash panel, it’s not cool
A 2/93 ford ranger don't have the 3 bolts described in the first step.
Now what?
Can someone please help me? I have a 2000 mercury mountaineer and my wife and i was going to the store the other day and gray smoke come from the speedometer and it stoped working along with the wind shield wypers the power windows and the dome lights. I changed the instrument cluster and the gem module and nothing helped. Does anybody know of anything to fix it?
Como consigo cluster mazda b3000 mod 03
Have trouble with my 96 Ford ranger auto 4 wheel drive speedometer works but quits
+Stephen Clemons We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1AAuto.com
Yo cambié el tablero , las luces prenden todos ,pero el coche no prende
Techmoter works
I need a harness but it doesn't show on the website
+Robert Carr We're always cycling through the parts that we carry. This video was made back in 2016 so it could be out of rotation of what we carry now.
What is the size or socket type for my Ford Ranger 2001 xlt
This install requires 7mm and 8mm sockets. Thanks for watching! +Jonathan Zavala
@@1AAuto than you but I'm sorry my question is what type of light I need for example led light T10 connector or h4 dou you understand? In the dashboard waht light I need use
My 1994 rangers dash is nothing like this
How to calibrate it?!
OK i have a qwestion ..i hace a 1997 ford exsploer xlt my dash lights come on then go off
+Richard Williams There could be many reasons. From a bad fuse, to bulbs going out, to an alternator, or something drawing too much current from the battery. Try checking fuses first.
Part is no longer available for the Ranger.
Aren't you suppose to disconnect the battery?
+Raul Fister Thank you for watching. It is recommended to disconnect the battery whenever you are working with electronic components in your vehicle. 1aauto.com
it's easy, and it can't hurt (unless, maybe, if ya pull the pos cable first or something, lol)
@@1AAuto the negative or the positive

No this video did not help. the vehicle used was a 01 i have a 93 analog not digital.

Does this work an a 96
+Jared Martinez We don't have a how-to video for your vehicle right now, but the basic steps in this video should be enough to do this task. Buy this part for your vehicle on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
And even show how to replace the part that was in question
My god. Better to just sell the truck at that point. Wow
Thanks for the comment! This job is a challenge, however certainly doable without having to go to a mechanic.
+General HowTo
That's the sort of stuff I like to buy from folks who are intimidated by turning a few wrenches
Really? he took it apart and put it back together in 10 minutes. I replaced the heater core on my 88 mustang, now that was a project!
@@dixiechampagne2892 yea exactly
@Kyle Sherman It may look like ten minutes but it’s a little more of a hassle than that. Still nothing compared to a heater core though!
This super complication reflect the poor mentality of the stupid who designed this bad and ugly design.
Go to TOYOTA and take a course called the simplicity of design. It took long with many broken clips 😡
So close! Cruise control button replacement please.
