The points made here about the Audio around the 16 minute mark... The onboard audio is often an underrated feature. This board has a great audio setup for the reasons Mike explains. Getting AEC and noise canceling setup without mucking around with extra software is just a great thing. Also big thanks to Mike for letting me know Discord has an often unnoticed noise suppression feature built in that I never noticed. You can only see it when you have voice activated. I have ALC1220 and lots of new B550 boards have lesser onboard audio solutions. Penny pinching? I probably wouldn't go B450 but for a cost effective build for a friend or non enthusiast, this would be on my shortlist of probably 3 B450 boards. And I COMPLETELY agree about the aesthetics. The purply pink line going through the other versions was vomit inducing.

    • @mikesunboxing

sound is an often overlooked part of the component selection process, most people are looking for overclocking or fancy lighting, but audio is very important and sometimes expensive to replace or upgrade

This is undercut by the cheapest B550 (but that one does not have a great amount of VRM heatsinking), also snapping at it's heels is the B450 Aorus Pro (with ARGB, but not 5000 ready and NO FLASHBACK).
So this board does win on the "ready for anything" front, but is up against fierce competition

Sli is dead and buried with little or no support in video editing and most games developed in the last few years. It only works to some extent in some benchmark programs. For almost all regular pc users sli is not possible and needs a lot of modifications with no guarantee of stability or utilisation

Excellent unboxing and feature review, Mike! Can’t wait to see you put this in a system. This board does really appear to do it all - if I understand correctly, it is compatible with all AM4 based CPU’s and APU’s? Amazing. The fact it doesn’t have PCI v4 is unfortunate, but this is a more budget offering... I do have to say, these days, I only use boards with onboard WIFI for budget and compatibility reasons. I could make an exception with this board, however...

    • @mikesunboxing
      @mikesunboxing  Před 3 lety

yes it does look like a great board with fantastic compatibility, being able to buy this board and have the guarantee that any chip can be bought and used without PCIE or memory issues is so cool.
The Wifi thing is something we have discussed before and it still is something that gets mused over here at MUB central 😎
Our walls are brick and cement with plaster board and plaster so wifi signals need to be very good to get a constant signal, and any distance kills it off badly unless you are lucky enough to have a mesh system, so for us here in the UK and lots of Europe Wifi is a real pain so not having it is not a problem.
I think for the US and Asia areas wifi is much more widespread in PC use and most of the questions regarding Wifi and Bluetooth do seems to be from those areas in general.
I would have liked to have seen a wifi version produced though, it would have made a lot of sense

The issues I would have with this board is it only has one USB2 Socket and a lot of Lighting Modules require a USB2 Socket, even the Prism only works properly with USB. I think 2 should be the minimum. Also as far as I saw only 1 USB3, so lacking a USBC Socket you can't use an Adaptor in a USB3 Socket if your Case has a Front USBC Socket - which a lot do have now.
It's a shame as it has some really good features but seriously lacking in others. Also only a single ARGB Socket is poor.

I'm going to get a 5600G, I have a ROG STRIX B450 F ... I didn't manage to update the BIOS for the 5000 series, can I update it after installing the processor if I immediately enter a BIOS and update it already the update downloaded on the stick?

No you won’t be able to get as far as the bios as the cpu won’t be recognised

@Mike's unboxing, reviews and how to

they are shown in the video, but to recap 1 x CPU Fan connector
1 x CPU OPT Fan connector
      3 x Chassis Fan connectors
      1 x AIO_PUMP connector
so you will likely need a splitter or hub unless you can get the fans to control to your liking on the extra CPU or AIO headers

Does this motherboard supports ryzen 5 1600? I currently have a b350 motherboard, and I'm planning to get this motherboard and keeping my 1600, I want to later upgrade to a r5 5600 or a 5700 processor.
