Cities Skylines - Littletown: 62 - They getting a race track

- Littletown is a Cities Skylines series in which I share what I am building with the rest of the community. The town itself will take the shape of a high-wealth, small coastal town that has a thriving tourism industry. We will build awesome homes for our residents, awesome resorts for our visitors, and we will make the town look as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Join me on the journey of turning Littletown into this thriving tourism community.
[Disclaimer] I know nothing about race tracks. This is just my imagination forming and going crazy based on what I see on TV.
In this episode:
We will extend the highway to connect up the major islands and use this as the access point to start the island developments. Today, we start with a race track, some residential houses, apartments and a commercial area.

BTW only error is that F1 cars are not going trought the racing lines, but that's game error, not yours :D

That's rude and wrong :3 Tracks are good except maybe 5, reglementation and politics is shit
I am not an expert in any means but if it were a real track especially for F1 use trees standing next to the track without any barriers or other protection would be an absolute no go. The same goes for tall grass or bushes.
Maybe I just didn't see it right (can only watch in 480p die to shitty internet) but if you want it proper and realistic looking the trees, bushes and Grass have to be removed.
Also the complete track has to be secured by safety barriers and not just the corners.
Gaps in the barriers have to at least be overlapping each other in a way that a car could not sscape the surface when out of control.
A race track is most of the time surrounded by service roads used by marshalls and tow trucks so they don't have to be on track.
Just some perfectionist thoughts. The track itself looks really good and could create great racing. You also did a really nice job on the pitlane and paddock 👍
I had the same thought as you but there are barriers around the track everywhere they are just hard to notice even for me who's watching in 1080p. As for the service roads, it's still a city building game, I'm sure we can forgive that if there are no service roads :))

Awesome track man. One critique though. You've got to put barriers in front of the trees on the track. If a race car crashes into that thing over 300kmh, your gonna have some fatal crashes.

@@84766T lol just start a new city and have a go at detailing as you go. make sure you have find it and move it and RICO helps as well. get some workshop stuff like different trees and bushes and decorative stuff and go for it :-)

2 things for logic and looks:
1. No trees would ever be located on the inside of a Barrie on a race track (it's dangerous in case of someone crashing)
2. Invisible highways: draw a race line for the f1 cars to use on the track. You can make as many racing lines as you want and itll look just like if the cars were overtaking eachother and the race line would look a lot more realistic (as opposed to following the center of the track and never having any cars overtake
throughout the whole video i was more and more amazed, the assets, the tools, the techniques you use, and then the cherry on top, F1 cars actually using the track and even the pit stop! just WOW
I really love the amount of detail you put in everything.

I just discovered your channel and i must say; by far you are the easiest to watch, very eyecandy and well done gameplay. Even the biggest channels gameplay footage gets really hard to follow because they move the ingame camera too often while building and it gets very hard to watch when they upload it fastforwarded. Problem is, it never works for things like this. If the Mayor wants to keep their job, they have to appease the NIMBYs. They're not going to move, they're just going to vote the current guy out and put in someone who backs them.

Hey man, this is one of the best race track builds ive ever seen in C:S! Also the surrounding area just looks absolutely stunning. I have one critique on the race track though. Wouldn't it be nice if there were some more stands or fields for spectators to watch the races? I suppose the race track isn't only for F1 testing, but also for races from other classes as is the case with all race tracks in real life. Seeing as your series is highly realistic, I think it would be a great idea to add some spectator facilities! :)
Points noted. Main reason for the "not 100% replication of a race track" is because I have to scale down on certain things due to the sheer size of this city and my dying computer.

Its more about the urban development. And you´re accuracy and creativity stunned me for sure!
But you didn't put a lot of effort into the track itself. Service roads around the track, small escape routes and the layout killed my vibe ;)

This is getting more and more ridiculous!!!!! F1 racing??? That's pure class...GENIUS..I would love to see real time gameplay for like once in a while...
it takes a long time to create these sort of detailed videos. you could be sitting there for 3 or 4 hours to get this in real time gameplay. :-) i know mine take a while, my latest one for a whole district was maybe 12 hours filming all up but got it down to 19mins. :-D

Really awesome track! Like seriously even though you know almost nothing about race tracks it's really spot on! I would love to race there. In sim or real life!
One thing I would like to see added to it though. The track it's self doesn't really have anywhere for the stewards to sit along the track, or a maintenance road that runs along the outside of the track. They put that there for well, maintenance and to get to a driver off the track quickly in case of an accident.
Also if it's a wealthy area more than likely there would be stands all around the track at the best fighting and overtaking spots.
Other than that it's so gorgeous and the apartment area is amazing! You really captured my imagination with this one :)

For someone that doesn't know much about race tracks, you made a very good Hermann Tilke F1 look alike design. The only thing that is not very realistic in the pit lane entrance but there are worst in real life still in use. Oh and needs more stands. Great job.

I only now stumbled across this video and I must say I am well impressed. The track looks amazing and it's very entertaining to see you build all the minor details. The only thing I've noticed though is why on earth did you build trees in front of the safety barriers.. like, somebody’s just going to Jim Clark themselves. But apart from that, really cool track.
Need more grandstands and foot bridge to link them. You could add VIP terraces on top of the paddocks and stores, food-court, toilet cabins etc.. I wanted this kind of mods for such a long time I cant wait to see other peoples projects. Great job ! Just subscribed :)
