Great video. This is the first time I've seen a half crank engine pulled apart as they are too new for my mowers. Good design for the crank pin remover too!

Thank you for this video mate. I always thought the crank boss screwed on, and I damaged a fly wheel by jamming it with a piece of wood as I tried to unscrew the boss. I have a few spare machines kicking around in my shed and the engines are all the same, but there are 2 different lengths of boss. The earlier models have the shorter boss and the later ones are longer. I need to swap a shorter boss for a longer one so I can use an earlier engine on a later model chassis. This is a great help....cheers 😎

The whole block looks cast iron and the head Cast Aluminum, looks like quality.

Good idea on making your own tool as the Victa special tools are stupidly expensive

Pretty interesting how flywheel and Ignition coil is on the bottom side of the block, But looks necessary as whole block is cast iron.

I gotta give my current Commando Lawnmower cleaned from the inside out, wish me luck. Taken most apart except the cylinder inside it is all black.

Great video, I'm doing the same to my 2 stroke at the moment...
One question.... what size was the tyre iron Side you used to get the crank pin out?
I tried but can't seem to get it fitting over the pin

Fabulous Mate. You do a first class video. It may have been a good idea to suggest that you tap on the OUTER race of the last bearing. You are very good. Do you do your own editing or have you got a mate with nouse?

Is there a shear pin in the flywheel? How is it located correctly, couldnt see in your vid. I have a motor that is violently kicking back on attempted start. Suspect timing out.
    Cheers

There is no shear pin on the flywheel. The problem you describe is most often caused by trying to run the mower without the blade carrier installed. Or with a blade carrier fitted loosely. The blade carrier must be securely fitted for the timing to be correct.

Does these type of 2 stroke motor engine oil or does the motor rely on the fuel 2 stroke petrol and oil mixture?
