As the saying goes "fellow the money." Parents do this think there's gold at the end of the road if they do this. But most kid actors wash out- & often end up becoming adults in crisis- Britney Spears anyone?
@dwood78part2 trust me, there is a lot more of child stars that became adults in crisis as a result of their parents pimping them. A lot of child actor stars like Judy Garland, Gypsy Rose Lee, her sister June Havoc, Betty Grable, Gail Russell, Jackie Coogan, Natalie Wood, Sytmie Beard, Dorothy Dandridge, Dana Plato, Todd Bridges, Gary Coleman, Lindsay Lohan, Jeanette McCurdy, Corey Hiam, Corey Feldman and many many many more. Although that some of them have resolved their issues.
Drew Barrymore too. Also, if I remember correctly, there was a Nickelodeon child star who played on All That who was pimped out by her mother. Her name was Katrina Johnson. She was on All That in Season 1.
These kinds of parents who do these kinds of heinous things to their kids are just as bad or even worse as some of these family prank channels who exploit their own kids for their own selfish and sinister needs.
This is exactly why some parents should not be allowed to have kids because they not only mentally destroy their kids, but they are making the parents who raise their kids in a healthy way look bad.
Great points and videos, Shawn! Parents who pimp their children are not strict. They are bullies. My abusive and toxic parents used me to gain success, and they care more about money than me. It is the reason I rejected them in my life. Sadly, it happened to people like Michael Jackson. Aaron and Nick Carter's parents did the same to them when they were famous people. Aaron and Nick Carter's siblings and parents went through a family crisis. These parents should not be parents, mainly if they use them to gain fame or other purposes, which is different from how they raise children and ensure a successful life. Many parents who live in poverty pimp their children. I wrote a book about how to be famous, including being a star in a Christian, healthy, and safe way. One of the things I will explain in the book is how parents need to help their children become famous in their careers. I will have it published everywhere in the future. It is better to be famous in a Christian, healthy, and safe way than have people like parents pimp their children to be famous in a toxic way.

I moved to Hollywood at 22. Saw that alot. The parents are as guilty as everyone else. They'll do anything for $$$.

This may be a bit late but what's Sean is saying about childhood actors is correct I remember Macaulay Culkin he was a big childhood actor and he did not transition to successful acting into adulthood I also remember that kid from the Mighty Ducks movie in the '90s he ended up being a drug addict I think he just had a role but it's not that big of a rule or deal I know the only three actors that really transitioned is Kirsten Dunst Leonardo Dicaprio and Toby Maguire and McGuire even has not been in any movies as big as the Spider-Man series he mostly has a production company he makes a living off of also when they do make the money the childhood actors and their families they mostly just wasted and instead of investing into something that can make them make a living or even more money that's how most of them end up I also recall the guy I don't know his name he was in The Terminator 2 movie and he was in the movie American History X he also is a drug addict that hasn't been any big movies as much

Sports parents are definitely the worst. Not all, but enough of them are like that.
Even worse, most sports parents will try to force their kids into doing physical activities even if they are not interested in participating.
Plus, when you look at it, some of them are not doing it out of love for the kid, they do it out of spite and for profit.
