How to change your startup image on a Toyota display, at McPhillips Toyota in Winnipeg!

It's possible to change the display startup image and display off image on many Toyota vehicles! We took the time to show you exactly how to do it in this video. If you have a newer Toyota Tacoma, Toyota Tundra, Toyota Highlander, Toyota 4Runner, or Toyota Venza, just follow the instructions in this video to change your display image! Other models may feature this function in the future.

I didn't know how to get the Display Off Image show up
I initially thought the Display Off Image was supposed to show up when the vehicle was powering down.
And then I did a cursory search for a Display Off toggle in the software, but didn't see it.
And now I know ... the rest of the story

THANK YOU! I have a 2016 Tundra. I saw this option while playing with the screen...I assumed it would be simple matter of transferring a couple of images to my flash drive. Nope! (Nothing told me to create the folders that you mentioned in your video!) And I spent 20 minutes totally wasting my time researching the owners manual for help.

Thanks! A note to others. It only worked in my truck (2014 Tundra CrewMax) when I formatted the drive to FAT32. ExFat is not a recognized file format.
Thank you for the information it really helped i have the 2013 Avalon limited and they are the same only problem I’m having is with the jpe the car doesn’t recognize the pictures. But think i got it now. :)

Thanks for the video. Is there any way to keep the home screen from coming backup? Every time i screen off on the home page the image is there perfect but if you cut the vehicle off the image goes away and the home screen comes back.
2017 Highlander has 3 USB ports in the front. I couldn't find the primary one at first. It's the one on the far left, under the AUX cable link.

I listen to music off a flash drive in my Sienna - I have to unplug and plug it back in after every cycle of the car off/on. It's very annoying.
Do you have a tip to make the usb drive recognized every time the car starts?

I downloaded 3 images from my flash drive to my Toyota Rav4 2015. I just don't know how to KEEP the image I select on the screen.
I tried this on my new but used toyota corolla 2016 but it did not work. It would not recognize the folders on my flash drive and there was no language on the screen recognizing the 2 new folders. Sooo can i change the images on my vehicle???

Hi E, I have a 2016 Prius C model and got a USB drive with files to start this process. I see the "General" but no "Settings" within that menu. There are other menu options but I poked around and din't find anything referring to changing any display graphics. Is it a matter of updating my vehicle's software, or am I SOL? Thanks thanks!

I have a 2017 RAV4. I followed the instructions, the RAV4 accepted my image and it is now displayed as one of the options, but when I start the SUV the image does not appear. I'll try smaller logos and different images today. I put 2 images on the flash drive, but it only allowed me to load the first image, the 2nd image wasn't even displayed. Thanks for the video!

My image was right-side up. You can try editing your photo by using software (like Microsoft Paint) to flip your image upside down, save it as .jpeg, then upload it to your truck?
Must the USB be plugged in at all times? Can i save it on to the car

i've done everything to the T. Says it cannot recognize usb make sure its plugged in....tried it a million times..will not work on my 2016 4runner

Same here. I tried reformatting, multiple drives, etc. with no luck. Can't recognize USB drive. (2016 Tacoma w/ Premium)
I had a hard time loading with my 2016 4runner at first. Then i took the sandisk folder off and copied it to my desktop leaving only the startup and displayoff folders. Only the the display off image worked. After several tries i realized the image name for the startup image was a little long inside the folder so i renamed it "Image 1" and that worked!! Both images were JPeg and only like 50kb

Follow video details closely and verify. There are 3 showstoppers in her tutorial and they are: 1) The USB must be FAT32 format; 2) USB should not be large capacity, 3) the image files should be JPG only (That was the case for my 2015 Camry). And BTW, the photo shows for a brief 2 seconds, hardly worth the effort.

So how do you keep the (OFF SCREEN PIC) always on ? without turning on the off screen button (NOT THE START UP PIC) but the always on display so when i shut off the radio i don't have to manually set it all the time? Mine wont come back on too i manually set it again .
