Jake Martinez simple don't shuffle it. If they really want a shuffle then do a back-up trick where u can shuffle the card. Like the dumbass trick from scam school which is so dumb it will amaze u too.
Also for the part when the spectator get to choose which pile to use, you can say "Go ahead and choose which pile you want to count from." This sentence makes sense and sounds very legitimate for both piles. If they choose the one with the 8 as the top card, that pile determines the number they count from. And if they choose the other, then that is the pile that they count from. In my opinion, that direction statement gives the spectator a sense of freedom than just "Choose one pile." Cheers.

Just so you all know it works with any number 2-10 I've done it with 7 and 9 :) Also if it is confusing here are the steps I done. - Grab 4 of the cards you want (1-10) (All the same number) Ex: 4 - Put a 4 in the back of the cards - Count 3 cards from the front and put the three 4's in front of them. - Look through all cards and choose one of your three cards. - Place the card on the ground - Look through the rest of the stack and after passing your two 4 cards tell them to tell you when to stop. - Place the two stacks beside each other and tell them to pick one. - If they pick the one with the two 4's they saying your gonna count through that stack after pulling a card from the top of the other one. - If they pick the one with out the two cards then take off the top one. The card should be a 4 so you count 4 from the bottom. - The 4 one needs to be taking off the stack and put the other three on top of the stack. - Now if you flip over the remaining three cards you should have four 4's. Hope that helped if not then try watching the video again? My first attempted failed but my second one and all the others were successful! Practice makes perfect.

By the way, I prefer to do this trick with a lower card value. It makes the counting less time consuming. I find the 4 card works best. Less counting, better chance you'll clear the 4 cards on top, and it just sounds cooler to say 1-2-3-4. If you do a 4, you can leave it at the top 10th position if you like (it's your prediction card, so whatever), but the bottom needs the 4's arranged in the 4th and 5th spots. Once ready, do the trick as normal.
With other cards you have to alter some of the procedure. I tested with six's and had to move the 8th and 9th positions to 12th and 13th to make it work.
Would it be possible to change up the position of the prediction card? Just to make it seem a little less coreographed? You would still have to remember which position it is in, but it would seem a little more random.
It's the 8 that goes on top at the first place. When you deal the cards, you do it from the bottom (or the face up side). Look at 2:12, the 8 of spades on top, now see the flip at 3:23, the left pile of cards (in our sight) is the top one, which has the 8 of spades.
The thing you do is to place your index finger on the middle of the card, and your thumb on the upper right corner. Then you press the two fingers together while letting your thumb slip a little to the right downer corner 😉. Hope it was helpful.
Be like I already shuffled it before taking the cards so I don't know what order there in. I just tried it right now and it works going to try it in a couple of hours. Good luck
Ok the 1st 8 has to be on the 8th position which you would put it there by flip your deck to where you can see the card (the bottom part of the deck) you count 7 cards an you created a gap so in the gap put 2 8s so count them again so when you count 8 and 9 both 8s will have 2 be that 8 and 9 so now flip the deck back to the top of the deck and put an 8 as the 1 position and now count 9 and in the gap you just created add another 8 and count them again and the 1 should be an 8 and when you get to 10 check the card and it should be 8. Thanks. Really nice and cool trick. I showed it to my guests and they really were amazed. I have an advice to you too: Use Manual Settings in your video camera to avoid color fluctuation and lightness variation. Now your camera was balancing color temperature all the time.
Could you use the glide force thing? So you could ask the spectator to pick a card (or so they think..) rather than you picking the card out? So if you hide the first eight under the cards and give that to the spectator after they've picked a number out?
You can use different numbers, as long as they are actual numbers and not Jacks, Aces, etc. What you do is on the bottom of the deck place the cards in the positions of the number you chose and then the one above that number. For instance, for a six I would put two sixes in the sixth and then the seventh position. For nine, ninth and tenth, seven, seventh and eighth, and so on.
I'm enjoying your material very much. I teach HS so when there is a few minutes of free time and everything is caught up, I use these tricks to keep them tuned in. They always enjoy a bit of magic. I very much appreciate the Four Eights trick.
Andy Field does a similar version of this trick which is impromptu, they can shuffle the deck. You look through the deck to find what you think is their "lucky" card but as you do you put down random chunks of cards as you're looking.
