    I’m using my KUVINGS REVO830 to make this juice. If this juicer is out of your budget, there are other options and FINANCING IS AVAILABLE
    It is the best juicer I’ve used. The juice comes out super smooth with minimal waste and very little oxidation, but what really sold me is that it also makes the healthiest nut milk, smoothies, and sorbets!
    Recipe:
    1 medium purple cabbage
    1 large English cucumber
    1/2 pint blueberries
    1/2 pint blackberries
    1 apple
    1 lime
    Process all of the ingredients through your juicer. Enjoy!

    Juicing has changed my life for the better. I already eat ton’s of fibre as a whole-food plant-based Vegan, so I don’t need to “over-fibre” myself 😀 If anything, when I eat too much fibre my digestion slows down and I feel sluggish. Balance. Thanks for the video!

    Diabetics also need to be careful of blood sugar spikes. SO typically they won't drink juice in general. They need the fiber/pulp to slow done the spikes in their blood system. Also those people that have a fatty liver, will want to slow down their fructose levels that create fat in the body, causing high blood pressure. But then there is always an exception to the rules. I watch the videos anyway, for when I can drink juices again.

    I watched a health video months ago. One of the doctors said that juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is beneficial for the cells, and the fiber is good for digestion. So, juicing and eating the fiber are both beneficial

      Like so many health topics, there are Doctors and experts who disagree about what is healthier. So, I listen to both sides, then read the studies that they have read, and some studies that many of them have not, then I use my own intellect and intuition to decide what resonates with me as accurate. This is why I don't have any problem with people who disagree with my approach. Everyone is entitled to decide what is best for them.

    Fruits with high moisture and sugar content sould be consumed when the temperature is the hottest or when the individual is going to heat up the body and burn up the sugar to be convered into energy. Our bodies function on an enzymatic level and require loads of minerals. Glucose plus oxygen equals energy, water and carbon dioxide.

    The problem is the blood sugar spike. It can be blunted by anthocyanins like from blueberries, but it’s still not ideal. It should be a treat ideally. Also, a lot of the nutrition is bound to the fiber cell wall which remains in the fiber pulp despite blending it to oblivion

    • @healthyveganeating
      @healthyveganeating  Před 9 měsíci +3

      You're mentioning things that I already addressed in the video

      @@healthyveganeating Well, you did say ‘everything is positive about juicing if you’re already eating a healthy diet’. Which is just not true. That’s like saying everything about refined grains is positive if you’re already eating a healthy diet. Or everything about refined fat is positive if you’re already eating a healthy diet. The issue of removing the fiber isn’t just that you’re decreasing your fiber intake. It’s more that you’re separating the fiber from the rest of the plant to a degree that can never be achieved by chewing. Juicing is as close as you can get to a refined carbohydrate before making it just sugar isolate. And yes technically it’s highly absorbable, but you ultimately get less nutrients than if you just eat the whole fruit or vegetable. So it’s effectively less absorbable than whole food. Also, what’s high in sugar vs what’s low in sugar is not the issue. That’s glycemic load. The issue is the glycemic index. Something can have a high glycemic load (a lot of sugar) and have a low/medium glycemic index, and that’s awesome. The blood sugar rises low & slow, without a crash like how you would get with isolated sugar. However, something with high glycemic load and high glycemic index is bad. Some juicing recipes fit into this category. Other juicing, like the juicing you do, is in fact low/medium glycemic load, high glycemic index. Which, yes, is better - but it’s still not good. It’s just less bad. Less bad doesn’t make something positive. It just means it’s less negative. I think you can make a low/medium glycemic index juice. But it would have to just be certain vegetables. The moment you add a fruit in it would tip it over the edge to being high glycemic index. Unless you use an extremely small amount. But then it wouldn’t impact the taste much, so it probably wouldn’t be worth it. But hey, if this is the treat people need to stay whole food in the rest of their diet, then go for it. But just don’t think that the rest of your diet completely negates the downsides of something else you consume. Unfortunately that’s just not how this works

    • @healthyveganeating
      @healthyveganeating  Před 9 měsíci +4

      You are speaking in the context of "ideal" which is a waste of time because no diet is comprised of only 'ideal' foods. By the way, what food group is ideal? Lots of healthy foods such as spinach, kale, nuts, beans, etc could have detrimental effects depending on how much you eat and how you prepare them. Juice does not have to be "ideal" and have no possible negative effects under any circumstances to qualify as a healthy addition to a diet. You have not written anything that I haven't been privy to already. You are spewing lots of facts, but coming to a flawed opinion. I drink a juice once or twice a week, and my doctor marvels regarding my BMI, Blood Sugar, Resting Heart Rate, Blood Pressure, and several other measurables. This is because I eat a super healthy diet, get plenty of sleep, exercise daily, and am low stress. In this context, a few glasses of imperfect juice a week (made in the manner I a suggest) is not detrimental.
      Finally, I will refrain from continuing this exchange because I am not trying to prove anything or persuade anyone to juice, or eat a certain way. I provide facts, and add the phrase "in my opinion" when I am conveying my own interpretation of the facts. I have no desire to change your mind or anyone else's. I appreciate that your comments were knowledgable, tactful, and on topic. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    I would also put the solids with some vegetable cuttings and peels and make a veggie stock. Why waste it? Also making your own juice leaves out all the junk that is in the juices in the stores. Same with making my own veggie stock, no junk in it. Thank you for sharing. Last night my son found out I put pureed pumpkin in my plant based chili. The look on his face was priceless. He isn't plant based but he likes some of my food. So today at this Arts Festival that our town is having this weekend, he bought two pumpkins. One green and one white. Going to try to cut up the white one tomorrow to find out what it is like inside. Planning on roasting in the oven with an assortment of seasonings to try which way we like best with it. Hope there is enough "meat" in it to work with. Was told that the green ones are dense so I should be able to get a lot of puree from it. Maybe keep some of it solid for some yummy nibbles. I like knowing what is in my food, so I also prefer to make things on my own. Now if I can just find a recipe for chocolate mint. My favorite flavor I have been missing for the past few years. Preferably not icky sweet like the candies and cookies in the stores. Thank you again for sharing this. Love my veggies and fruits.

    Juices are very nutrient dense and the nutrients go in the bloodstream right away because there is no fibre. Some sick persons eg. Cancer patients have systems not strong enough to digest fibre. Drinking juiced vegetables gets the nutients in their body as quickly as possible and can have quicker more effective healing results. I have seen it.

      This just isn’t true… a lot of the nutrition is bound to the fiber cell walls, and much if it remains in the pulp. You get more of the nutrients from eating the whole food. It may be appropriate for those with impaired digestive systems, but that does not apply to most people. You don’t get to just make up stuff like “it has quicker more effective healing results.” I mean, you can, but you’re just not living in reality. And it just does a disservice to you and people you spread that to. There are a ton of benefits you get from eating the whole fruit/vegetable, that you don’t get when you juice them

  • @vloomn
    @vloomn Před 9 měsíci +3

    I understand your arguments but I will always go for blending rather than juicing.
    The process of juicing can cause the loss of some heat-sensitive and water-soluble nutrients like Vitamin C and B vitamins, which are often better preserved in blending.
    Juicing produces more waste as it separates the juice from the pulp, skins, and seeds, which are usually discarded, leading to a loss of valuable nutrients found in these parts.
    Juicing usually requires more produce to yield the same volume of beverage compared to blending, making it more expensive. Also, juicers can be more expensive and harder to clean compared to blenders.
    The concentrated sugars in juices can cause a rapid spike in blood sugar levels, which is less likely with the whole-food composition of blended drinks, due to the fiber content.

    My biggest beef with juicing is the fact that you can ingest a lot of calories in very little time. If you were to eat the produce that you juice you would be full and satisfied before you ate through it. IMO it’s not part of a healthy whole plant foods diet…

    To me its puzzling how some think that juicing is a negative nutrition option. Juicing is extremely important for when the body rises in the morning. The body should be eliminating for some hours before any solids are introduced into the sytem. Juicing assist with this process and does not activate the digestive system. Whole fresh fruits that are not cooked in any form contain their own digestive enzymes and allows for the stomach's gastric valve to open slowly until it's ready to receive solids.
