    Thank you so much for your insightful reflection on the genocidal war waged against Biafrans by the occupationist forces of Nigeria. Till today, Biafrans continue to die and live like slaves in Muslim dominated Nigeria. We are appealing to men of conscience all over the world to assist us to escape the modern slavery we are in Nigeria. We will forever be indebted to the state of Isreal and all men of goodwill who continue to identify with us in our of tribulation. We bear no hatred towards Nigeria but only what we are asking is to be free and live as free people.

    The stated end of the Nigerian civil war in the title of this video is two whole centuries off. The poor editing is symptomatic of shoddy "broadcasting" and opinions. Western Nigeria was not Muslim dominated. It was split between Christians, Muslims and Animists who lived at peace among with other and still do. I should know. I was born and grew up in Western Nigeria.
    The immediate cause of the Nigerian civil war was that a coup (the first ever in Nigeria's history) planned by junior officers from the Eastern region killed Northern and Western politicians. The Northerners took it very personally and retaliated savagely against Easterners living in the North. The Easterners fled back East and their military leader declared independence.

    • @kaodiizworld
      @kaodiizworld Před 3 lety

      And did you also do your research why the coup took place? The politicians in west began to enrich themselves, corruption was the order of the day. They were stealing away ballot paper in their abada in broad day light. The coup was save the country Nigeria but the northern in their myopic mind did not see it that way and the west sat quiet when the East was being slaughtered. For your information, there was a western amongst the soldiers who held to coup. Go and do more research

    • @graphicsRat
      @graphicsRat Před 3 lety

      @@kaodiizworld Friend, almost all the politicians were corrupt. I was not addressing the cause of the coup but its aftermath as the *immediate* cause of the war. Like all disasters, the war, was caused a sequence of unfortunate events, but there is always one final straw that breaks the camel's back. Else we might as well go far back and point out the way the British structured the army and favoured the North, the merging of the North and South protectorates with very different peoples into one Nigeria etc as causes of the civil war. There would be no end to such an analysis.
      Listen to Ahmadu Bello speak about Igbos, and weep for Nigeria. There was animosity towards Igbos long before the coup

    My question is that,what do people really expect in a war?
    Propaganda is part of all wars.
    Most of these children were from the Calabar zone, a minority within Biafra.When they were brought to the West after the war for humanitarian assistance,they were absorbed into families.I myself had friends among them as a child,when you ask about their origin, most mentioned Ikot Epenne or Oron(Calabar, which was later Cross Rivers State).
    The Biafran of that time should be asked questions.
    As a matter of fact,no one would contest the level of the suffering those people went through, but then, a war is a war.Europe can say something about the effects of wars.
    Why are people so blind to the facts that there was more to this than the ill fed children,mainly sacrifised for the purpose of propaganda, God sees all though.
    What do the world call a military offensive against another sovereignty, that was what Biafra did.Launched a military offensive against the whole MidWest and was in fact few kilometres from Lagos before a counter attack by Nigerian Troops,look at the map and calculate the distance from Onitsha to Ore,where counter offensive was staged, in fact, Nigerian Troops had to destroy the bridges at Oni River to stop the Biafrans,if not, they would be in Lagos within 4hours.Mind you, this places is on Yoruba Soil Anyway that was the turning point of the Biafran Invasion of the West,before Col. Banjo called back the invasion,although he was later executed by Ojukwu their leader.
    Now tell me,do you now invite these troops to dinner? All what they did in the occupied territory could be analysed by those people.
    It was a gamble, and they lost.
    Are they not well represented in Nigeria's today Govt? What are their senators doing or saying? One thing is clear about the Ibos,it is either everything or nothing. They are everywhere all over Nigeria,but what the problem is I believe, it's their political orientation,how can you win when you are up against 2/3 where you are 1/3rd.
    Bringing all the civil war memories back to advocate for sentiment may eventually open old wounds on both sides.Most of the commentators are either too young to witness the war or they are naive.What good comes out of a gun?
    Sit and talk, Dialogue, every tribe or group of people have the right to their freedom, but then, Diplomacy is the key, not aggression.May God gives you people what you wish without shedding of innocent blood.

      Akinbi Olugbenga Typical Yoruba response. 😂 So only Efik-Ibibio folks suffered? Ehh woh. FYI Igbos kids were shipped off to mainly Gabon. Btw I’m partly Ibibio. Go do your history and stop writing trash. We all suffered regardless of ethnicity. Nigerians attacked and killed whomever they wanted Igbo or Efik. Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and to win a war you must capture the capital hence why Biafran Troops led by Banjo invaded the Midwest also populated by Igbos on their way to capture Lagos and win the war. Smh intellectual dishonesty smh
