Excellent job & definitely well done my friend. You should be able to run the life of the car now. I definitely agree 💯 percent with the better parts & xtra things changed. Keep up the super GR8 videos & congratulations Sir on a job well done.......⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank s😅
Can you change my timing chain on the exact same vehicle?.....
I got the same car think my oil pump going bad I think I will be doing this soon either I blow it up or fix it never done a timing chain done just about everything else
Better safe than sorry. You definitely can DIY.👌
At the end the check engine light came on did u figure it out after changing the chains? I got a 08 outlook and it’s throwing codes and everyone is saying chain is probably stretched to replace it same motor
Stretched chains are very common on these motors and is likely the cause. The check engine light for me ended up being the purge valve.
@@christopherjpeters💯 percent Facts & Truth. Some need a timing chain sooner & some later on high mileage. I also have heard of super high mileage & no timing chain because of GR8 maintenance & good quality oil. It's like the GM LS model 5.3 engine. There's no rhythm or rhyme of when you could have lifter problems. Some of them never having lifter problems and super high mileage. Oil changes & proper maintenance help a long long way....
Good job, considering the confined space. I’m curious as to what timing chain set you purchased, was it a gm or was it one of the others?
The parts list is in the description. Everything was purchased through rockauto.com
i got that same car. how do i take the tension out of the timing chain if im doing a head gasket?
GM makes a tool that slides down the front cover and prys against the tensioners so you can take the chain off the cam phasers.
Thankyou, Much appreciated.
